In my device storage there is a file icloud drive it's of 2Gb how clear it it's taking my iPhones space
Unfortunatelty I thought this video was going to show me how to transfer all photos and videos to icloud but it did not. I aleardy have my settings as displayed in the video and my phone is still saying iphone storage full when i try to save new edited videos. I think iphone just sucks on purpose. Purposely made for these problems to occur.

Google photos is a good app you can get to put pictures and videos into an unlimited cloud
iCloud uploads your photos automatically you can’t pick and choose what you want to upload and it take time to do it so like if you just bought iclouds storage it could take a week for all you shit to get uploaded.

Robert Howard I think it separates it and stores it for free so it doesn’t count against your storage plan because this would weigh heavy against your iCloud storage plan.
Or just use Google photos instead of iCloud totally free

@@mahmedm nah bro if Google photos doesn't even take up that space if you save it in 'high quality' mode UNLESS you save the photos/vids in 'original quality' which will take up space . From my usage I don't see a problem with 'high quality' mode and usually can't tell the difference and I get unlimited storage for my pics/vids too so that's a plus

You can’t it stoopid af. But you can turn on optimize storage and it will save a shit ton of storage for you which should never fill up and ICloud will store the photos for you freeing up the space. Just make sure to keep dat icloud subscription. An alternative is to upload photos to your computer and then delete them off your iPhone where they will be on your computer. Or you can use Google Photos and back up all your photos and then delete them on your iPhone freeing up all your storage. It will take a few hours but make sure to do it before June 1st because then you will have to pay for more storage like ICloud.

In my humble opinion I think using iCloud Sucks because there’s an extra cost every month 0.99 for 50gb 2.99 for 200gb and 9.99 for 2tb I see this as a hidden fee or surplus fee. Yes up front it looks good notice I said looks good down the road not so much is a bill on top of your cell phone bill it adds up the cost of owing a cell phone. I don’t care how anyone might justify apples iCloud monopoly but most of us iPhone users would love to see our iPhone have a removable micro sd card that would give us the freedom to do what we need to do and the cost is less and lot of people want to pay less not more. I recently switched from a Samsung to iPhone and I brought the phone in 256gb, I only have 1257 both pics and videos and it’s already telling me it’s full. I never had this problem on my Samsung even tho it was only 64gb

yeah you get 28days before they delete your data so you can download them in those 28 days

They are not on your phone, you won’t be able to access them, if u don’t have Internet, so everytime u look at photos on ur phone, that r already in the cloud, ur just viewing a download
I have the iPhone 8+ 256GB. I’m upgrading to the iPhone 11 128GB. I currently have almost 30,000 photos, 1000 of them are videos.
I know everything isn’t gonna fit inside the iPhone 11. Would they still be in the “Cloud”, if I transfer data from my old iPhone?
If iCloud Photos is turned on and all your photos and videos are uploaded, they are all saved in the cloud.
Also if you have a Mac your photos are copied to the Photo app as well.
I got the iCloud storage and all my settings are as you stated but my videos and pictures are on 24gb on storage and 3gb on iCloud … any help please and also my others is on 19gb and I really need space

What happens when your iCloud storage is full and you change the iCloud settings from “optimise iPhone storage” to “download and keep originals”. Can you loose photos in iCloud, does it use less iCloud storage space, or does the action just use more of your device memory with no gain in iCloud space?

Sorry, but you can’t. Your photos and videos stored in iCloud are a mirror of the iPhone local photos, meaning when you delete from the phone they’ll get deleted from the Cloud as well. Use the tip I show to Optimize storage on the iPhone. That’ll help.

In fact the area where it says icloud photos says 1% as if it began the process of moving to icloud but is and the % will not move

I actually, saved all the info on my phone to my external hard drive, (although the hp I have wont read any of it) and called Apple and they rebooted my phone entirely wiping out everything. Hoping the app I downloaded on my hp will allow me to open up those photos etc. Again thanks for checking in.
Other solution if you are ok with spending money, is to buy an external HDD or SSD.
I have an iPad tho, so Idk if it’s gonna work on iPhone too, but its way easier to do and I feel safe about it.

I want to create a folder on iCloud drive with specific videos. I do not want these videos to be deleted if I delete them off of my phone. How?
Go to Photos, select the videos you want and tap the share button. Move to Files and then you’re good to go.
I went to the Apple store and they told me that there is no way to store videos on the cloud after deleting them off of your phone unless you disconnect your phone from the cloud and keep it disconnected because iCloud creates a backup of what is on your phone
Daniel - can you help? My iPhone storage is 62.9gb out of 64gb. Photos are currently 23.4gb of that. I just purchased 50gbs a month of iCloud storage, but the photos are still in the iPhone storage, nothing has moved to iCloud? Can you move over i.e. 10gbs of photos to iCloud or do you have to move it all? As I still don't have enough space on iCloud (would need to pay for 200gbs) to fully move all the photos apparently... help?

You would think this would be an automatic feature, wouldn’t even need a button. Mine seems to always be on won’t let me shut it off, and I’m still running out… I have such a love-hate relationship with Apple
Every time I press Upgrade in the iCloud storage page, it doesn’t do anything. It won’t open up
Try on the computer.
Either try to close settings and try again or restart your phone. That happened to me and this worked.

So because the photos are backed up to your iCloud it doesn’t take up your iphones storage but your still able to store the photos on your iPhone?
If photos are backed up using iCloud small versions are left on your iPhone reducing the space required on your phone. Full resolution copies of the photos are backed up to the Cloud. When you view photos on your phone they are downloaded and display in full resolution.
