F1 Old Mexico/Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit (1988) | Sergio Perez Onboard

- Опубліковано 30 чер 2020
- Today's onboard lap is with Sergio Perez in his Racing Point RP3 as he goes around the old Mexico Grand Prix layout used in 1988. The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has been featured as a Formula 1 race multiple times in the past, with the race returning with a new layout in 2015.
The old layout for this track is not all too different from the new one, as the first couple of turns are identical before it starts going through a bunch of esses style turns.
Interesting track to drive on, but I personally prefer the new layout over this one.
If you enjoyed the video please leave a like and comment below any tracks you'd like to see me do an onboard lap on.

The old layout is so much greater than the new layout
That looks better than today‘s track
The esses on this track are very difficult, i think it'd be a nice challenge to today's drivers
Current Foro Sol is both one of the best and one of the worst sections in F1.
It's one of the best podium sections, with the crowd roaring at maximum (just remove any selfie-guy).
But, damn! It's one of the worst Mickey-Mouse track section! Even a hard 90° turn wouldn't be as bad as _that_ abomination!!!
The original Peraltada was much, much better
Monza but with more turns perfect way to describe the old school version of this track
It is better
way more dangerous in the last curve
Would be super awesome if Mansell’s pass on Berger at Peraltada could be replicated, ballsiest pass ever 🤯
The old track is so much crazier than the new track
I cannot begin to imagine how exhausting a race here would have been.
Could be more so with the speed of modern day cars!
Good old Peraltada
I'm okay with the new podium section, but I really don't like how they made all the corners in the first half into sharp edges 90 degrees turns nowadays.
If those corners were still the same nobody could overtake there
@@Tauva i really beg to differ
@@Tauva It ruins the show for other categories
The old track's so much better.
The engine sounds perfect..... Almost... The upshift to 8 sounds like the gearbox just breaks lmao
Getting strong Super Monaco GP memories from this.
Old layout much better than current layout.
RIP Peraltada
Even if they had to change the final corner for 2015 why did they change the rest of the track for no reason?
Safety
I understand changing the sweepers at the start of the lap to slower, tighter corners so that there is more braking and more overtaking chances. But they really ruined the esses, they feel very artificial now
Take a look at satellite images of the old layout. The esses section has nowhere near enough runoff area. The sad thing is if you directly compare the runoff area of the old layout with the new one, it becomes pretty clear that these corners, or at least the same character of esses that slowly but surely open up, could have been kept mostly the same. In other words, these same corners could have just been repositioned with the opening one or two slow esses being properly reprofiled instead of everything.
What a good memories when i was a kid
this layout is still visible on google earth and the straight after the hairpin isnt there, just the esses
I miss malboro
This is similar to the layout for the A1GP that held here in 2006/2007.
Have you done the Chang International Circuit in Thailand yet? I tried it with the Kunos 2017 Ferrari car and it seems like it could be a fun track to watch someone with actual skill hotlap on.
Yes I have! Here is the link to the video: ua-cam.com/video/9snwArc3MSQ/v-deo.html
Which is best?
First complex = NEW version
Second complex = NEW version
Esses and everything else = OLD version
After watching today's mexican grand prix it was so boring 😴 this layout seems way better!!
How about Riverside International Raceway?
These corners sovle all the problems, that tilkes reinvented corners make!
Just better in every way, particularly the esses
So much better than the current absolute dog-turd of a track.
Mitsos, can you please put the link of this track, pdta: i´m not sure which layout (old or new) i prefer
Sorry boss, I forgot to add the links in some of the older videos, here you go: assetto-db.com/track/hermanos_rodriguez1988/hermanos_rodriguez1988
Albiet, without the insane bumps!
can u do sentul international circuit indonesia?
Yes, will be doing that next!
Mitsos1311 thx
I think I remember the NASCAR Xfinity Series ran this track unfortunately they dont go here because of the restrictions set on the promoters made racing there not viable.
it's just the same..but the only difference is the last corner.
How many esses on this track?
Opposite of superstraight
5
Why it looks like Perez driving a normal car
don't get why they have changed the esses
Because this layout basically has only the long straight as an overtake spot. With modern cars, you cant follow close in such esses, so this would be as boring as Monaco.
PaulPunk23LP Ah yes because the current Mexico circuit is renowned for its fabulous overtaking opportunities
@@stoo8441 Well, T1, T4, T9(?) is better than only T1
Extreme low RPM
My final comment goodbye mitsos 2020-2022 😭😭😭😭
They have completely ruined the esses sector, it used to be fast and flowing, not like today with those crap medium speed corners.
The old layout was worse, change my mind.
An amazing way to ruin an incredible racetrack, much more flowing than the new one
