  • Welcome #STSNation ..
In this episode, two of the very best at what they do discuss the challenges in tracking the Moscow, Idaho killer.
Tracy Walder is one of the few women to serve in both the Directorate of Operations at the CIA and as a Special Agent at the FBI.
From 2000 to 2004, Tracy served the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center Weapons of Mass Destruction Group, followed by the FBI's Chinese Counterintelligence team. During her time at the CIA, Tracy travelled to war zones and many other countries.
After leaving the CIA, Tracy became a Special Agent at the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office, specializing in Chinese counterintelligence operations.
Tracy now works as an author, adjunct professor of Criminal Justice at Texas Christian University, and sits on the Board of Directors of Girl Security. She is the author of The Unexpected Spy
Monica Jordan is the President of Jordan Research & Consulting - one of the nation’s most sought after private investigators.
Her firm happens to be based in Tallahassee where concentrates primarily on criminal defense and civil cases in federal and state trial and appellate courts throughout the United States. She has handled more than fifty death penalty trials.
She worked with on notorious female serial killer Aileen Wournos post conviction team …
And, another name you know - Luis Rivera - Trial team (Dan Markel law professor murder) plea resolution
Let us never forget those young lives lost way too soon: Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.

@@xyz12345457 Yes exactly. I actually think the behavior of this family is quite strange if you want to know the truth. I mean let's go back to literally day 2 in to this case. It was Kaylee's Sister talking sh*t to the media giving them all this info and at the very same time busting the chops of the police. Saying they were not talking to neighbors, didn't ask for camera footage from neighbors. It was all a total lie! They most certainly had talked to the neighbors, and askes for camera footage on day 1! They had cops out canvassing the area asking ppl what they heard or saw. Kaylee's Sister made out like these police are bumbling idiots. And finding out from neighbors interviewed, that it was the absolute opposite. Ya know, why the hell did Alivia lie about all of that? Why did she make the big scene on different news outlets? Then a few more days and it's the entire family blasting the police. Then actually wondering why Police weren't calling them everyday. Well, if I were 1 of those police working hard on this case. Those ppl would be the last ppl I would want to call. Just saying. I would call Ethan's Parents or Maddie's Dad, or Xana's Dad. I would not want to call Kaylee's family because I wouldn't think it would matter what I told them. They'd still have it out for me. And even their Lawyer talking. Saying if they call Police and leave a msg. They demand a call back immediately! Well excuse me, but this Police dept is investigating a quadruple homicide rn. They may not be able to call this family back immediately and cater to every little question they have. Why does this family treat these police like they are responsible for Kaylee's death? I see only rage toward the police with this family, not for the killer. I find it very strange, and I have never seen this before with any other homicide case. Literally not once. And we have 3 other families here. And strange none of them are behaving this way. It's as if Kaylee's family forgets completely that there are 3 other kids who were murdered there besides Kaylee. They act like Kaylee is the only victim that matters and I find it incredibly self centered and thoughtless.

These are great livestreams! Thanks. One quibble at 17:02 I'd disagree that the FBI handles tips better. They have resources and budget for sure, but an awful history acting on tips. The Miami FBI office, with over 1,000 agents, never bothered responding to 2 tips they received about school shooter Nikolas Cruz more than 5 months before the shooting. They received detailed tips that included his name and address with actionable info about disturbing activities. Never bothered to look into it.
More well known is the shameful case of Dr Larry Nassar, who abused hundreds of gymnasts, including many Olympians. The FBI received numerous complaints including actionable evidence including emails and sworn statements from more than 1 Olympic athlete. The FBi failed to act for more than a year. They moved only after the athletes went to media. Later, some of the athletes accused FBI agents of lying about their statements. The FBI failed to act on that tip as well.
These are just 2 famous examples. There are many more.
If local police has the manpower to handle it, they should handle things like tips because they actually have skin in the game. The FBI answers to no one.

It crosses my mind that the killer or killers could’ve snuck in earlier and laid in wait. The students came home at different times, although close together. The two that came first could’ve been killed in the room. And then, when the second couple came, the killer(s) could’ve come out of hiding and killed them. That way they don’t have to handle four people at one time. And there are ways to silence people with a hand or a knife?

@@agatamars I don't think that rumor is 1 bit true. Because go back to the 1st presser. The Chief of police did not understand why the roomates had called friends over instead of calling 911. And he did not understand why they then all waited, before they called 911. The Police Chief thought it was very odd their explanation. If the roomates saw the crime scene, there would be no reason at all for the friends they invited over to report it as an unconscious person. Also go back to Ethan's Parent's full interview. Ethan's Mother is very clear. She says Ethan and Xana were found in the same room. They were found in Xana's br. This bit that Ethan was found in the hallway or kitchen is just not true at all. They were both in Xana's br. It is common sense to know the roomates could not get the door to open and they called Ethan's Brother and Sister, thinking Ethan was unconscious. No roomate passed out! The roomates could not even get in the rooms! They did not see the crime scenes.

As for the screams question, three things come to my mind: 1. I can easily imagine the perpetrator puncturing/cutting the crucial spots in the victims bodies - windpipes, throats, hearts; they wouldn't be able to scream or to even make a sound, or if they did manage to do it, it would be probably a quiet moaning; 2. The perpetrator could have easily covered the victims mouths (surely with girls) with his hand or a pillow to muffle the sounds, while sitting on them; 3. If the victims were sound asleep and inebriated they would be totally disoriented as to what was going on (maybe even thinking for a few seconds if it was a dream), and would be just slow in ther reactions, physical and/or vocal.
This all could explain the lack of loud screams.

The house was chaotic in terms of people coming in and out and people who lived there sometimes not present during parties. When the police stopped by for a noise complaint they were not able to talk to someone who lived there. I stayed at a college town for 5 years getting my graduate degrees but all the homes I lived in pretty much were locked at night and the residents were around. There is a commenter that caught my attention on a different video and raised my eyebrows. The thought people with theories about a killer known to victims were stupid and tried to point towards it being gang related (naming MS 13). This does not fit Mara Salvatrucha et al M.O.s. It also struck me as odd because the way the commentor spoke didn't fit the profile they were using. I wondered if they paid someone for access to an old YT account. Username is 'AKenyanWoman'. They sounded like a young White male U.S. American

I still speculate that it was 2 killers. And with more involved…Both came through the door that a subject opened for them. Then they took different routes once they were inside. There possibly could be a subject tasked with driving off and opening/closing door/or evidence transfer from the killers. The killer on the 2nd floor possibly struggled for the initial seconds after stumbling upon and a male and female. However was quickly supported by the killer that just did the hit on 3rd floor. There’s more involved in my speculation, that is also why it’s giving so hard of a time to investigators, different subjects were tasked with different things to do while the killing took place.

It may not have been random but to say that the victims had to be known is somewhat of a leap. The house was like a crystal ball, prime territory for voyeurs. The girls flaunted their beauty, although they were not as attractive as they seemed if you see the tik tok videos of them in their dressed down reality inside the home. Someone who didn't know them initially could have crashed a party there easily and, over time planned out and executed this attack to satiate a latent desire for control and domination. I personally agree that this is likely someone they knew, but I couldn't rule out the other option.
