I truly pray that they catch the evil person or people who are responsible for these ungodly acts. My heart breaks for the families who have lost their family members and my condolences go out to them.

As a true crime watcher/reader for over 20 years. "The Gainesville Ripper" and obviously Bundy, came to mind when I heard about this case. I have a 23-year-old daughter and I have thought her everything I can provide from my knowledge of being a true crime "fan". It's tragic that one of many rules/tips I've planted in her head - "going out to a bar/club together, going home together." didn't do any good here. Take care, and thoughts to everyone involved. I agree 100% on comparing it to Bundy! Nobody ever suspected his “profile” until there was witnesses. He stalked the college campus! He murdered how many people before there was even any witnesses???? And none of the murders was even “connected” until there was finally witnesses as well. People need to step back for a moment and look with fresh eyes

I agree with some who are saying they’re not giving the local police and FBI enough credit. The local police dept is a small department as well. Crime scene processing and evidence processing takes time. Sometimes, it takes a lot of time, especially when there was so much biological evidence everywhere (not to mention that it was a party house, so they’ll likely find a ton of prints, that they have to sort through as well). People want to think it’s super easy to solve crimes because they’ve watched some CSI tv show and some documentaries but the truth of the matter is that with that much blood, and that many victims, just simply processing *those* parts of the scene for evidence is tedious and incredibly time consuming. Let alone, the rest of the house, surrounding areas, verifying alibis, contacting witnesses and following leads, etc etc etc. It’s a lot. Way more than most people can even imagine, and especially if they have the “standards” of TV crime dramas and forensic processing times, in their mind. Anyway, I do hope that they find the person(s) responsible and are able to give these families (and the community) closure. That’d be a very tough scene to process. We have to be patient. If they didn’t take their time, then THAT would be problematic.

Now I live in a rural township that is mostly farm land and housing developments. We never had a murder where I live, even today. However there is a College close by and there are people there from all over the world, so I lock my doors. Most of us here are very well armed and many of my neighbors are hunters, outdoor people and a number of us have prior military service. I'm not concerned, but I don't trust anyone I don't know.

That’s how it is in Canada, well from footage I watched a few years ago. The ppl in Canada just never locked their doors and I guess they are armed with more firearms than Americans but they have less crime, they think it’s because of the media. They don’t report as much negativity on the news as the US but the video games are really violent tho, still less shooting crimes. Anyways I just remembered them not locking the their doors and I thought that was risky but for a long time that’s how it just was. I wonder if it’s still the same now

I watched the Netflix doc on the Texas Field Murders in Texas. It's been decades and some of those cases (35 abducted and murdered girls from the 70s thru the 90's!! ) are unsolved. One dad is now 75 and he is still searching for answers. Many of the parents of those girls went to their graves never getting justice. Its so sad! A few cases were solved but only because one victim got away and was able to identify one man, and another man was caught via ancestral DNA. It's nuts how clustered the Texas murders were. It was like a community full of men murdering women. The police were passive in the 80s and early 90's. It's maddening how passive some police departments are on these cases and how they botch up evidence, or it simply just goes missing. 🤷‍♀️ So many men get away, literally, with murder.
Also, just curious, have they looked to see if any Idaho criminals were recently released in Moscow, or even sex offenders that live in that area? Not all sex crimes involve Rape. In the Texas cases they found 2,100!! You'd be surprised how many people like that live in small quiet towns.

My biggest point to make here is that the killer left his DNA ( probably blood / hair ) in the house. The killer seems to have knowledge of the house & people in it. Wouldn't expect the killer to be a random passerby considering the weapon used is up close & personal. This was a Brutal slaughter for someone with a grudge against either one or all these people. The killer was also clever enough to not leave an obvious clue behind or else they would already be behind bars. So pre planned to a certain extent is part of my guess.

We don't owe it to them to calm the F down when they've been as incompetent as they have. We've been really patient for 3 weeks plus. And they've just asked for local surveillance from people. Are you young enough to know that's stupid? So we fully support them, we have fully supported them. With tried to stay in our lane. We've asked questions. But if you think asking questions means we need to calm the F down, then you don't live in the same country I do. I'm going to ask questions. Especially when it's a mass murder, and corruption has happened before in situations like this. This is a college town. A lot of money is on the line if this town becomes a ghost town. These cops aren't acting like normal cups in normal murders that we've watched so why? Is it because somebody told them to make this case die? It's a valid question because the dad was going to put up wanted posters to get the public to call in with any information they might have or surveillance last week. He was told no don't do that. They don't want wanted posters around town. Doesn't seem a bit odd to you that it's more important to them to maybe be trying to get this to go into a cold case where people forget about it then solve it? I'm not saying that's what they're doing, but it's happened and there's signs of it happening. So if they're not doing that then they won't mind the families asking for help from the community.

Maybe he was stalking them to track and learn their movements, when they left he entered the house through the sliding glass door, they were gone for hours which gave him time to learn the houses interior. He then located a safe place to hide before they got home and waited for them to go to sleep. At around 3 to 4am he killed the first two on the top floor then worked his way down to the second floor killed the next two and left the way he came in. That’s why he never went to the first floor where the two survivors were sleeping, he didn’t haft to cause his exit was on the second floor.

I guarantee they are going to find some unknown blood , some unknown prints , this case will be solved. As far as the door being unlocked , I agree that they probably did not lock the doors . The last murder there was 2015. I don't think for a minute they even worried about locking doors. Though I can't say for sure, when I heard that he used a knife with a hilt, this is someone who knows what they were doing and planned out their escape route. They are not from Idaho and now could be anywhere in the country. Where I live in an adjacent state, there are tons of young males who look very questionable who ride the rails and show up in town.
