You did a great job bro! I'm sure your grandpa is smiling and is proud of you.
Beautiful Ride!

Awesome!! So excited and happy for y’all! Been loving watching the journey! 🇺🇸
You boys do good work. Grandpa would be proud. Awesome job!!!
Great job and thanks for all the information. I’m sure your grandfather is super proud!
Looks really clean, great job on this build. Appreciate the parts/cost breakdown as well 💯.
Clean job! Love the build
you did an awesome job on this swap. your Grand dad would be proud.
VERY impressive work, and the result is something you can be proud to own for the rest of your life. Excellent documentation (paper AND video) too. Congratulations on completing such a major project! Well done.
Awesome fortitude brother. Great job. Great build. I love your channel.
Great job, brother! You did your grandfather proud.
Very glad that you made your granddad's El Camino better than it ever was
Just found your channel and subscribed, thank you. Had 67 ELCAMINO wish I had her back today. Yup absolutely this is not for the faint of heart financially.
Awesome build, very clean 👍.
Looks amazing! Great job!
Thanks man!!
Congratulations on a job well done! I’ve watched from the beginning, and like the rest of the comments say, your grand dad would be proud. Awesome that you guys did it all yourselves too, very nice work!
Thanks I appreciate it!!
I’m considering an LT4 swap in my 2015 GMC Sierra so this was a very informative video. I hope you’ll keep posting some content as you drive the car. After she’s broken in would be fun to see you rip it up a bit!
Favorite el co body style. Looks clean man!
This is awesome man🙏🏽 gramps would be proud 💪🏼
Nice build for sure. I'm glad you're happy with the end result.. Even if I got the engine and transmission for free, I now know this setup is out of my budget... Enjoy your hard work
Awesome brother! Keep grinding. Still working on mine. It’s a LT4/10L90 86 Elco.
Great work
Good work 😊
I have a whole new appreciation of old school naturally aspirated hot-rodding now, thank you! Never again will I complain about the pittance in money I spend building an old hotrod!! 👍
Man, those wheels set it off!👍
Very helpful, thank you
Good JOB !!!!
Thanks for sharing I plan on doing a video as I’m doing something similar after my build im doing a complete ls3 build with rear end , suspension , full disc conversion at a shop and I’m at 56k with parts and labor all parts I’m using are also brand new . Everyone tells me it’s too much but when you brake it down it adds up quick
Thanks for the breakdown. I had about 50k saved up to do the LT4/10L90E swap for my 70 C10, so I'm pretty sure I'm good. I already got the motor/tranny, ecm, tcm, wiring harness, fuse box, air intake. It came with several upgrades too. 103mm throttle body, griptech 2.3 pulley and a few others.
I still need the pwm module, fuel pump, intercooler, etc.
I got a package deal on the engine, tranny, ecm, Tcm, wiring harness, and drive accessories minus power steering pump. It has 32k miles but I got a killer deal on the whole package
I feel your pain and I feel your joy. I did a similar project on a semi-mental 68 c10 short box that I have had for 45 years. I didn’t save my receipts because I wanted to say I honestly didn’t know what it cost. However I think if I could turn back time I would have just bought a new Porsche and saved the rest of the money. However now that it is done grandkids have used it for weddings etc so I’m fine. You did a great job. Glad to follow along. Btw I used a 376/525 with LS9 cam and American Transmission T56 and 3:76 TrueTrack
Thanks and that sounds like a nice C10!
I agree looking back if I knew it would cost this much I probably would have just bought a corvette or something. But like you mentioned now that it’s done me and my family can enjoy it so I don’t feel as bad.
I have a GenV swapped camaro… I never would’ve completed it all brand new.lol😂Your swap is very nice my friend I plan on getting the supercharger next. My engine is a L83 though but I absolutely love it but I’m with you it’s very expensive especially when your looking at the price of LS stuff 😂. Congratulations man keep going
Nice! Just make sure you don’t sell it no matter what! It’s worth it bro!
this is by far the best camino ever
Riley green song..i wish grandpa's never die..
great job on the install, probably the only el camino with that setup. only thing i would have installed the fuel tank under the car. like the wheels what size tires and wheels and backspace if you know the specs.
🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾 good info bro
Wow brother That is great!!!!!. Man after your last video I felt like vomiting. Man I was sick for you. I'm working on 6.0L LY6 swapping my 03' Crown Vic Police Interceptor 6.0L iron block with square port L92 style heads is whT a LY6 is. N/A is fine for now. Once I get the swap done and everything is how I want it then I will go down to my GM dealership and order a new LY6 crate engine. It's rated at 450 horse but will do alot better with a bigger cam. They put the LS6 cam in it so it will be improved. I'll have the dealer do the cam so I can keep the warranty. Great job on the install. It looks factory. It should have looked that good from the factory but they pump them out the door lol. Thanx for the update brother.
Heck yeah that Crown Vic is going to be awesome when it’s done!!!
I was thinking about it, that 29 grand connect and cruise , mentions the extra parts, not the price, and then you have to install it , back to the drawing board for me, HAA HA , maybe the LSX B-15 with a whipple 3.0 , maybe be an easier package, however it will never be a LT4 , really nice job!!
Sure you could have done it cheaper but at the end its your build and looks great. I am thinking about doing that same swap but with the 10 speed auto for my colorado
Awesome end product and I'm sure your grandpa is smiling. Remove the automatic shifter on the column, it's just a simple pin to remove it.
I wanna do this eventually. I have an 86 and got it from my grandpa too.
Congratulation
After hearing how much it was to buy new I'm definitely set on just finding a wrote off ctsv or something and swapping everything over.
It explain whys all these shows like Texas Metal are $100,000 builds and stuff minimum
Wow, Did you win the lottery? That is expensive engine swap.
Niceee
I have a 83 elcamino this looks like a fun ass build. I don't know where to start
Looks great, how did you do the power brakes, vacuum pump or hydo boost?
Awesome looking badass ride man!!? Is there a way you can share wheel tire fitment with backspacing? Thank you.
Beautiful build . Saying that what do you think your 1/4 mile time is 11s or low 12s
How much would it have cost with a LSX build to run 10s. Thanks
SUPERRR DOPE VIDEO 🔥🔥 i just bought a(n) ‘86 c10 , and I’m going to LT4 swap it as well .. would you mind making a video going over everything you purchase to get it running. ( that’s literally kind of what you did here lol ) however I’ve never done a swap so i was just as lost
40 RACKSSSSS 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
Thanks for watching! I did make a video series and there are about 10 other videos before this one where I explain everything I purchased to do the swap.
Beautiful camino. Absolutely bitchin'
Whats the name of that motor mount bracket you used to covert the sbc to lt4 great work very impressive
Thanks! And I used the ICT LT motor mount adapters and the motor mounts I got of eBay, they are LS G-body motor mounts.
What’s the wheel and tire setup
I'm doing a lt4 swap in a 72 chevelle having issues did you have any issues with yours?
So I’m getting to the wiring part of this build and wondering why you went with Spearco ! I have the GM supplied harness and controls and I’m going to run a Dakota Diditial dash . Was it because you couldn’t get a GM ? Thanks again..
That is correct. I had originally planned on using the GM LT4 engine controller kit but I payed for one and it was on back order for over 3 months... I got tired of waiting and found out about Speartech and I went with them instead. Dakota digital is definitely the way to go for gauges.
@@lt4camino I do like the thought that you can actually get tech support tho..Hmmmmm.. how’s the Camino doing ?
can you help me with the power steering pump? Im running this set up in a 69 gto ive added a rack and pinon setup and im using the gm reservior and i need hoses and fittings any help would be apperciated
Watch part 8 of my videos on building this car. I believe it should have all the power steering info.
get a diff brake booster & master cylinder
LT4 Camino. Do you have part numbers for the radiator and Camaro fan?
I got them off summit and here are their part numbers.
GRI-8-00087-LS (radiator)
ADO-15-81927 (Fan)
Does the car feel fast? What drive shaft did you use? I know it’s custom but who did it and how much did it cost?
Yes the car feels fast and I had a custom driveshaft made locally and it cost around $400.
@@lt4camino thanks for your reply. I plan to buy from summit racing and install it into my 2008 lexus is250 sedan with the 8L90E transmission
Hey man which motor mounts did you use ?
I got some G-Body LS swap motor mounts off eBay. Then I used ICT
LT to LS adapters to bolt everything together.
Thanks for the reply , did you use factory manifolds or which headers did you use ?
Do you have Vintage Air?
I do not at the moment unfortunately but it’s on the list of things I want to do when I’m able to save more money!
Hey, how much for labor?
My life for about 6 months haha
What size wheels? Any clearance issues?
18x8 (235/40r18) on the front wheels, 20x9.5 (275/35r20) for the back wheels.
It’s a fairly tight fit in the rear between the tires and frame rails but no rubbing.
The front tires slightly rub on my QA1 sway bar at full steering lock but other than that no issues.
@@lt4camino cool thank you Sir. I've been wanting the same wheel setup. but worried about buying and then running into clearance issues
@@thehumancrumb.668 I was hesitant and worried as well for the same reason before I ordered them.
But luckily Weld has a good engineering team. I took measurements and filled out a form and then Weld’s engineer’s told me what sizes I could run and determined what back spacing was needed.
lt4 and parts 40k
What wheels are those?
They are the Weld S80 wheels.
I’m here in hell so I can’t tell you what he thinks about this because he’s in heaven!!!!! But I know through the ol grape vines that he’s really happy with what you have done to his loved one there!!
No disrespect to your purpose behind the build, but 46k was madness...you spent way to much money.
No he did not. It is his money to spend as he pleases.
I agree, but if he's happy, so be it.
The average auto loan in America is around $46k. At least he’s building something special with it. My coworker owes $50k on a new Toyota RAV4 hybrid. Lol
No amount of money matters when you're passionate about a build with a purpose which was for his granddad.
