I personally also like Giant Golden Arc, though really just for PvP. You can follow it like you'd follow a fireball in street fighter, and it casts really quickly, to the point where you can combo into it through other tools at close range.
Yeah, the cast time is so fast and the projectile is so slow and wide (with some cool tracking) that it does feel like it's got potential for plenty of cool combos. Wish it didn't cost so much FP or did a little more damage than it does though.
I'm so glad you're back to making Elden Ring content. There are so many youtubers for this game but very few who don't annoy me (RageGaming being the absolute most obnoxious ever).

If the porcupine crucible incant had better tracking it would be high A tier spells. But currently it can miss so easily. If it hits point blank it does good damage for the fp.
6:21. Speaking abt bosses, I believe this can be used effectively on Lord Radahn for a cheese start. The hovering in the air is likely long enough to bugged out the hit detection of Radahn’s 3rd phase meteor attack, making him come back midair(instead of hitting the ground), and locks him into a falling animation, cancelling the entire rest of the attack. For those who don’t know, being airborne roughly 3 sec after Lord Radahn jumps into orbit, will make the tracking detection spawn midair. You can do it by just timing the your own jump, or dragon incantation, and by the look of it, messenger’s orb as well.
I think Giant Golden Arc is an underrated PVP incantation. It casts rather ridiculously quickly uncharged, and has some oppressive tracking, lingering and homing for a full 5-6 seconds even when not charged. The damage is less important than the fact that it comes out so quick and can just pester an enemy, absolutely forcing a roll or defensive running. The damage is not great but hey, chipping off 200-300 health from an enemy with a projectile that lingers so long *seems* decent to me. On randoms, I've used it to zone.
I had stopped using healing flask way before the dlc in replace of erdtree heal or now heal from afar simply because they can heal so much more then a flask depending on your faith. The benefit is that you essentially have constant heals for both your friends or spirit ash if you use it and rarely have to ever worry about running out if FP flasks since now you have 14. Also some gear that lowers heals from crimson flask do not affect heal spells at all which is a little bonus.Highly recommend heal incantations for faith users or incantation oriented builds in general.
@@thedoomslayer5863you would think it is but when playing with it if you have it as your first slot you can always have it available quickly and you can avoid some hits because you duck down with erdteee heal.
Multilayered ring of light can also he deflected by the erdtree greatshield. When charged you have enough time for 2 deflects. Additionally if this hits in melee range, the stun combos into the shield projectile which if you chaged it, combos into another shield projectile.
I really like the Pest Thread Spears, just like regular pest threads it's amazing at rollcatching any PvE enemy that tries to read your inputs and against small enemies it does way more consistant damage. I have a Polyanna cosplay build and it fits perfectly.

Would you consider making a "Worst Incants" and or "Worst Spells"? Just to bring more attention to the things that should be buffed up to the standard of at least worth using sometimes instead of discovering it, trying it once, realizing it's absolutely worthless and never touching again. Making that spell/incant/AoW/etc. effectively a dead end feature.
I agree with most of these, other than Wrath from Afar. Maybe I'm just not as creative, but I didn't find too many opportunities to shunt enemies off of cliffs without feeling like I was going out of my way to do so just because I could. Everything else though - Glowing review.
I will say that for a faith/arcane build, the bayle roar attack does absolute insane damage while also still going off if you get knocked out of the animation. Its a one hit on lots of enemies and in pvp its either one hit or enough to het them to back off, assuming you have enough health.
Light of Miquella is bugged at the moment. It doesn't get properly buffed from Holy damage bonus and also doesn't get bonus damage from the crown of light that states it boosts Light of Miquella. The Dryleaf Seal also doesn't work at the moment as it should boost Miquella's incantations but currently doesn't (making it a useless seal as at any point in the game it is bested by another seal). Light of Miquella will be able to do significantly more damage once these bugs are fixed.
It is absolutely absurd to say that multilayered rings is an improved version of discus. It does not replace discus or triple rings for various reasons. Firstly, discus is the most fp efficient incant/spell in the game, and does way more damage than it should for its fp cost. Furthermore, its damage can be massively boosted by wearing goldmask and using the golden order seal (or even using two). The int requirement is only 13, something any faith build should be able to afford. The amount of damage this shits out in pve is bonkers. As for triple rings, it is basically impossible to miss with this spell in pve. Enemies will dodge the middle ring straight into either of the side rings. Its damage is slightly higher than discus (which speaks more to how strong discus is than how weak triple rings is), and it costs almost the same as multilayered rings. Lastly, the piercing effect is incredibly valuable in pve. As for PVP, while discus is less useful triple rings is very underrated. It's hard to dodge both hits and when spammed or combo'd with other things (such as ancient death rancor) it's not uncommon to create scenarios where damage is unavoidable. The second time I went through the dlc I used my golden order build and it's absurd how easily everything died to a spell that costs 3 fp. Discus is the best bread and butter pve ranged spell in the game, people just get scared off by the measily 13 int requirement.
yeah, discus absolutely carried me through my first run of the dlc on ng+5. the fp and damage is good enough, but also the range is frankly ludicrous. in open fields most enemies couldnt even get within 20 ft of me before dying, especially if they were moving in a straight line. its only flaws are minimal poise damage and tracking/projectile speed, but if it had those it would be one of the most overpowered things fromsoft have ever put in a game on purpose
discus is without a doubt more efficient for the damage, i just figure once you actually get multilayered ring of light you are in very late game where you actually have 30-40 mind and the increased FP cost is no longer much of an issue. triple rings is great for PVP but the stat requirements are awkward to build around so im not a fan
i think not including golden arcs is not fair since the spell does really good damage is fast costs only 12 fp and does 15 stance damage and is just a bit better than giant golden arc so it should deserve a place too, 4:00 also don't forget light of miquella is bugged and is not getting buffed by circlet of light and dryleaf seal.
Cult incantations all one shot with the dragon form and the right talismans/physic in PvP. I invade in the storehouse first floor and just cast dragons lightning strike through the bookshelves, if it lands it one shots. If I see a weapon I can trade with and they’re being aggressive I use fortissax lightning spear which is a 360 aoe and true combos for a 1-2 shot. Death lightning one shots. Lansaxx lightning sometimes one shots. Honed bolt is hitting close to 1000 damage. Also hits anywhere from 6k-30k damage on bosses in pve. This is with flock canvas talisman, canvas talisman, godfrey icon, and lightning tear for physic. The damage potential could even be higher, but as of right now the it’s ridiculously high without being too glass cannon.
Tyranny is decent if you're surrounded since it gets hyperarmor the moment the head appears, but its stat requirements are very steep for the ok damage. The lightning stab one is just too slow.
you've gotta charge it fully, and hit at a specific range for it to be any decent. But while charging it also causes a windbox that will stagger enemies near you, at close range it's just really bad damage wise. It also disappears if it just slightly hits the ground or any wall, and it can only be aimed a very very tiny bit up or down. Overall it's pretty bad.
Still missing some type of incantation that can compete with Swift Glintstone Shard and Star Shower. We really do lack a fast, long ranged spam incant. All the new ones are slow casting, low range and punished by magic users so easily. Also what the hell is Rain of Fire... well, it does pretty much the same as Giantsflame take thee, but looks cooler with slightly bigger explosion. Still just better to throw a big fireball imo
Discus of light is easily better than the multilayered rol, it costs 3fp compared to 23, hits twice for one cast, and is super easy to use early, and its really spammy. Its never failed me, my faith build always has this in slot, although for pvp the multilayered is super awesome, people forget it stays awhile
Multilayer ring of light is good, definitely better than triple ring of light but no where near as good as discus of light. For 3 FP you can beat the game, it's worth the low int requirement
Having finally gotten a full body dragon transformation only for the coolest dragon communion spells to be absolutely worthless was a heavy blow. It’s so disappointing that we barely got any new viable incantation. Fire coil is a craft-able item which functions similar to fire serpent but has longer range and does some pretty heavy damage.
They will balance them soon, this isn't their final form. Watchful spirit, rain of fire and bear roar all have potential once they make them deal actual damage.
fuck you mean "barely any new viable" ones this is a video about several excellent ones, and most of the rest are fine too even if they're not beating best in slot incantations. unless you mean PVP, but that was inevitable. there's always going to be some best thing that's beating all the others and that's the only thing you should use in PVP.
Agree on all of them, but I'm surprised messmers orb isn't on here. Only downside is you can get knocked out of the cast by some enemies, but if you do land it, it stun locks a good amount of enemies on the initial hit and the explosion causes a ton of damage and also knocks them back
Challenge for you scoot, please come up with a good pvp faith build that’s comparable to your int mage build! I feel like there’s got to be something that can come close to int combos, I’ve been cooking, but I’m interested to see what your pvp mind comes up with.
You can substitute most sorceries for incantations, that being said many are fire damage which isn't as strong in PvP. For duels I'd run catch flame, fire serpent, free-aimed golden arc for zoning, crucible breath and complimentary honed bolt/placidusax cheese. For invasions fell god flame is great since you can blow it up early by casting into a wall, frenzy grab is also fun.
@@anitaremenarova6662 I don't know that much of the incantations can really be true substitutes for sorceries in PvP specifically. I would say they achieve pretty different things but in a similar fashion. Sorceries offer a lot more consistency and variability in their approach to casting, but incantations offer a much more explosive and supportive set of tools. Solo sorc' vs solo incant' I think is a pretty big difference, I think running a faith build without a melee tool would be ignoring the strengths that it has to offer. TL;DR I would say sorcery is better at creating opportunities and incantations are better at stopping other people from captilazing off their opportunities and supporting the other tools you have that create them.
@@ethantsai8261 I'm not saying it's 1:1 however many function similarly such as golden arc = glintstone arc, fire serpent = magic glintblade etc. You can build both schools of spells in either way with little difference, sorceries are slightly better at pure offense while incantations provide more utility which isn't necessarily useful in a duel setting.
