Legacy/Dualchas was the first single malt I ever tried around 10 years ago. I still absolutely love the flavor profile of it. I actually like it more than the 12 and I do like that expression as well. I didn't care for the 14 but I'd like to try it again as that was perhaps five or so years ago. Although it isn't featured in this review I must say the 18 (to me) is absolutely wonderful and my favorite of all the ranges I've tried thus far. Great review Erik!!!

Great review Erik!! I purchased a Tomatin 12 early on my Journey and throughly enjoyed it. Actually finished the bottle quicker than others. There are some folks that do not care for the malt, an orange citrus note. Have not experienced that not, the Bourbon and Sherry were more prominent for me. I think it is a really good dram. Thanks for the solid review! Cheers!🥃

I think Tomatin Legacy is marketed in the US under the name Dualchas.

Yup you’re right. Apparently there’s an issue with the name Legacy here in the US. I actually just picked up a bottle a few weeks ago and I’m looking forward to opening it up.

I haven't had any Tomatin in a long time, but I recently bought a Tomatin port cask finish whisky and a Sauternes finish Tomatin... I'm looking forward to both of them.

Will be scouring the Scottish countryside in July with "The Whisky Friend" (Alan Wilson) and you mentioned my #1 target ----> that Tomatin PX distillery only release. Just praying they have some when we get there. Thanks for the run-down these Tomatins. Cheers All!

In my opinion, Tomatin 12 is as good as a Glandronach 12 for 1/2 of the price in my area. We all need to find value when there is so much price increase.

I never tasted the 14 years old. However, I did so for the Legacy and the 12. In terms of quality/price ratio, I would say that both of them are good. As it goes for the complexity, the 12 years has in my opinion a more complexe finale/aftertaste than the Legacy, which would justify the higher price. I personally prefer the Legacy, but it is just tastewise.
I'm sorry to learn that the Legacy isn't available in the U.S.. I live in Canada where I bought that bottle a few months ago, and it is still available.
    Have a good day !

Liked the Legacy better than the 12y, had a 36y and a 40y at a Tomatin tasting and they were amazing😋😋
