Great quality work and attention to detail. Black and red go so well together. Not sure about the later wood steering wheel, I would have preferred to see the original. I recall these when they were new, such an elegant car.
The best XJ-C ever, ever. Better than the factory could ever do. Stunning colour black (99) over Red. The build hours and attention to detail is the best I’ve seen in a Jaguar. As another person commented, the Daimler body mouldings are extremely rare. Also love the tapered base of the bonnet mascot.
Like the E Type one of the most beautiful car designs in history and deserves to survive going forward into the future for coming generations to appreciate past engineering from previous generations.
I had a 1978 one that i bought in 1984 I was British racing green with tan leather and a manual gearbox with overdrive it had only done 43 thousand miles absolutely great car this one in the black is stunning
Stunning car with some good looking enhancements specifically the wood steering wheel and the chrome cross brace over the cam covers. Nice to see the leaper on the bonnet which at the time of production was a dealer fit option, a terrifying operation as BL simply gave a series of measurements in the kit to position it. Bear in mind I think they were about two and a half times more expensive than a top of the range Princess at the time. Although now widely regarded as one of the best looking and desirable Jaguars ever made they were not that popular when new, I remember going to the factory on a course when the series 3 car launched and although they had a series 3 Coupé there it never made it to production and i believe it was the only one produced I also think this body shape would have made a stunning convertible.
I’m building a restomod one of these as a topless roadster. Looks incredible without the top. There are “factory” Avon convertibles of these but the convertible sticks up and doesn’t lay flat when down . Just doesn’t look right. I have an xjs convertible top that I’ll be playing with at a later date but a fiberglass hardtop will probably come first.
If i had the money i would buy it! Its not Just a car,, its the sum of the hard work of those who created it, and of those individuals who eventually restored the car! A reflection of untold efforts!
Sir William Lyons and his team were undoubtedly great engineers, but I think they were even better artists and sculptors. Every point which your eye lands on takes you on a delicious topographical journey of swoops, valleys, crests, plains and creases. It's like falling into a vat Marks and Spencer chocolate desserts and having double cream poured slowly over your entire naked body. Great job people.
This is a very fine example of how an XJC should be turned out. Perfect, the vinyl roof only get`s away because the perfect black paint forgives it! I personally prefare these cars without their `seventees` vinly roof top. The cool tidy coupe design does not need this `extra`. Check out the finished jobs that got rid of the vinyl roof top, it is a much sleeker look. The XJ 4 door saloon design was perfect in sleekness and always ready to be turned into a 2 door coupe.
They really knew how to style cars then . Gorgeous lines. Today's modern tech cars are sooo boxy and look like boxes on the road , like my grandson says microwave on wheels. Haha xx
Stunning! What is it about a Jaguar XJC that captures the essence of quintessential elegance, glorious! I think this was the last model that had design influence from Sir William Lyons. I think the colour would have been a factory option and those waist mouldings must be as rare as hens teeth! Thankyou for sharing your talent
Whilst I agree these are the most gorgeous of cars I doubt they will ever be worth a lot. They’ve been the same price for the last 25 years! 20k will get you a superb 4.2 and only a bit more for a v12. Exactly the same as 1995! They just don’t go up in price which is weird.
That’s changing and will eventually skyrocket. Theres just so few of these. Once the numbers of the xj series II decline you will see a massive jump. I’m glad people think like you though, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get mine. 😎
I’d be willing to bet that’s a Sikkens black paint that was used. Makes me sick to think how difficult the paint must have been. Just phenomenal. I’m painting my Xjc black as well and It’s a nightmare.
There is always some one and in this case is me. Most of the cid shows a great paint job. And it is great. But there is so much more to this vehicle that i was left disappointed and wanting much more detail. Great car and long one of my personal vehicles like the ‘72 BMW 3.0 CSI of which i was privileged to own two.
Totally unique, looks like a series two, I had a series three Daimler Sovereign, the best looking XJ they have ever made. I still drive an Xj best car in the world.
One of the best XJs and beautifully restored, but I'm sorry, I just don't think the leaper Jaguar on the bonnet suits these as it did the earlier models where the front tapered more sharply to the centre point. It doesn't work.
Lovely. It's amazing how much attention is paid to these models now. Agree with some others about the steering wheel - to me it looks out of character as well as being too thick. The mascot? I guess it's a personal choice but IMHO shouldn't be there. It was more appropriate to the Mk.II which I remember well.
All Jaguars, (included the living ones) , ARE beautifull !!!! As a Jaguar. purist, (I have several in my collection), that leaping jag badge, does NOT belong on top of a XJ-6, Series-2 bonnet. (Engine comp. lid) "Classic cars, nothing like the real thing"!!!
Superb quality of workmanship. Two personal niggles. Why, oh why retain the cheap, nasty vinyl roof and having added gorgeous chrome swages down the coachline, failed to have the leaper as part of a fluid chrome strip from the airvents to the bonnet grille? Otherwise, love the series III accents, aerial, steering wheel etc.
I think you're referring to the XJC being restored in Harry's Garage? That's a V12 and is being finished in a modified Aston Martin dark green. This is a different car entirely.
Can you imagine walking past a Jag showroom back in the day and seeing this ! Beautiful car
Most beautiful Jag I've ever laid my eyes on. 👏
Absolutely superb job. Way better than the factory ever did. Really well done lads 👍
Great quality work and attention to detail. Black and red go so well together. Not sure about the later wood steering wheel, I would have preferred to see the original. I recall these when they were new, such an elegant car.
Amazing work the paint job is just mind-blowing, well done!

ahhhh stunning!!!! .......definitely stunning fo sho!!
There is just something abput an xjc that is timeless. My late father use to have xj6 coupe and loved them !
WOW! Thats an amazing restoration, one of the best ive seen.. Congratulations!
I had a 1978 one that i bought in 1984 I was British racing green with tan leather and a manual gearbox with overdrive it had only done 43 thousand miles absolutely great car this one in the black is stunning
Indeed and this one was owned by Bruce Forsyth , was sold on after his passing to a collector 😢❤
A thing of beauty is a JOY FOREVER. !!!!!
Give me one of these compared to any modern car, these cars have so much more character and build quality
Absolute understated perfection. Everything new I pace will never be.

This paint job is fantastic, better than the factory finish👍🏻👍👍👍👍👍
That is spectacular. Such a graceful beautiful coupe. Imagine that as a convertible!
My God! That is beautiful.
If i had the money i would buy it! Its not Just a car,, its the sum of the hard work of those who created it, and of those individuals who eventually restored the car! A reflection of untold efforts!
I have a XJ best car every . I did have a new V12 Coupe not good always in workshop.
This is amazing .
Love the Manual.
Wonderful in every way
That is beautiful!
Wow!!!!....what a 'Detail' ...excellent work, real mirror finish...👏👏👏👏👏
Piece of art well done.
Stunningly beautiful.❤
This car is available for sale, definitely true Crystal of engineering
Absolute Beauty.
A real thing of beauty ♥️🇬🇧

Jaw dropping work! 👏
Wow, that wouldn’t look out of place in Monaco. I want one!
OMG! what a beauty!
Beautiful
you did a fabulous job on that paint - looks as though it was just laid down!
If you think this looks like it was just laid down, you know nothing about painting a car! This is the ultimate paint job, best I've ever seen.
@@jagitmax When you are spraying a car and the paint is wet it looks like this. not sure what your point is

I don't think they use designers anymore. Well, I hope not. If they do, they should have their heads examined. 😄
Masterpiece
Beautiful. Xjj12c!
It’s actually a XJ6C (4.2) both beautiful but better presented engine in the 6 cyl version IMO
Work of art.
Great Jaguar love it. Thumbs up.

Good job
Stunning car, the six is ok
Looks better than new.
They made 10,256 Cs 1,855 of which were 12 Cs and only 686 12Cs got to America. !!!!!
what company did the spray job may i ask? such a top spray job.
I’d be willing to bet that’s a Sikkens black paint that was used.
Makes me sick to think how difficult the paint must have been.

All coupes were series 2.
Really beautiful inside and out. A lot of work went into this .
If it was my car, I would put a series 1 dashboard in it. Looks much nicer.
SUPER CAR.
Wow.....
😮😍
Beautiful car and an amazing job but explanation or interaction with people watching??

Did I just see a manual 5 speed conversion.....noice

The more expensive cars of the late 60s/early 70s from Britain were georgeous. It's such a shame that the tin-worm loved them too
the worm was strong in the 70's. cant think of many that did not get affected....
Caravaggio would be very impressed. M.
Wow and a manual gearbox

Wonderful colour but ists not the colour in the video series. Its darker than both the sample board and the Aston Martin
I think you're referring to the XJC being restored in Harry's Garage? That's a V12 and is being finished in a modified Aston Martin dark green. This is a different car entirely.
Manuals are rare. M
For a detail place you never really went into detail on the details....90% was of the outside and some of those were the same clip
Beautiful
