I had a 1978 one that i bought in 1984 I was British racing green with tan leather and a manual gearbox with overdrive it had only done 43 thousand miles absolutely great car this one in the black is stunning

Beautiful very beautiful but need to be perfect type hardtop sedan and a/c color in back in roof and refrigerator like toyota crown 1985 in back back seats lights yellow in window must to be many many models some models must to mixed between new and classic style and hardtop sedan luxury,, new cars ugly made from blastic and losers

Give me one of these compared to any modern car, these cars have so much more character and build quality

Like the E Type one of the most beautiful car designs in history and deserves to survive going forward into the future for coming generations to appreciate past engineering from previous generations.

One of the best XJs and beautifully restored, but I'm sorry, I just don't think the leaper Jaguar on the bonnet suits these as it did the earlier models where the front tapered more sharply to the centre point. It doesn't work.

Lovely. It's amazing how much attention is paid to these models now. Agree with some others about the steering wheel - to me it looks out of character as well as being too thick. The mascot? I guess it's a personal choice but IMHO shouldn't be there. It was more appropriate to the Mk.II which I remember well.

This is a very fine example of how an XJC should be turned out. Perfect, the vinyl roof only get`s away because the perfect black paint forgives it! I personally prefare these cars without their `seventees` vinly roof top. The cool tidy coupe design does not need this `extra`. Check out the finished jobs that got rid of the vinyl roof top, it is a much sleeker look. The XJ 4 door saloon design was perfect in sleekness and always ready to be turned into a 2 door coupe.

I’d be willing to bet that’s a Sikkens black paint that was used. Makes me sick to think how difficult the paint must have been. Just phenomenal. I’m painting my Xjc black as well and It’s a nightmare.

Had an 85 XJ6 sovereign, sold for 1k ukp and it was nice. I still regret that.

Sir William Lyons and his team were undoubtedly great engineers, but I think they were even better artists and sculptors. Every point which your eye lands on takes you on a delicious topographical journey of swoops, valleys, crests, plains and creases. It's like falling into a vat Marks and Spencer chocolate desserts and having double cream poured slowly over your entire naked body. Great job people.

Absolute understated perfection. Everything new I pace will never be.

There is always some one and in this case is me. Most of the cid shows a great paint job. And it is great. But there is so much more to this vehicle that i was left disappointed and wanting much more detail. Great car and long one of my personal vehicles like the ‘72 BMW 3.0 CSI of which i was privileged to own two.

Stunning car with some good looking enhancements specifically the wood steering wheel and the chrome cross brace over the cam covers. Nice to see the leaper on the bonnet which at the time of production was a dealer fit option, a terrifying operation as BL simply gave a series of measurements in the kit to position it. Bear in mind I think they were about two and a half times more expensive than a top of the range Princess at the time. Although now widely regarded as one of the best looking and desirable Jaguars ever made they were not that popular when new, I remember going to the factory on a course when the series 3 car launched and although they had a series 3 Coupé there it never made it to production and i believe it was the only one produced I also think this body shape would have made a stunning convertible.

Wow, that wouldn’t look out of place in Monaco. I want one!

They really knew how to style cars then . Gorgeous lines. Today's modern tech cars are sooo boxy and look like boxes on the road , like my grandson says microwave on wheels. Haha xx
