Renovation of the Jaguar XJ6C 1976 (Daimler Sovereign Coupe) manual transmission. The renovation lasted 12 years. This beautiful Jaguar adorns the Czech Republic.
Insanely beautiful. A real good job, just Fine to watch the car coming back (or becoming even more beautiful) to its original splendor. I used to own a XJ12C, but I did not have the skills, tools and money to restore the car. So i am really happy to see that there are people out there that do.
I have worked in the factory building S3 & XJS's & owned an S2 XJ6 4.2 ...... I have to thank you for this & commend you on your dedication & the money you have poured out to keep this beauty !
Absolutely Stunning restoration and workmanship.....Just a shame about the wrong wheels at the end, other than that......Just absolutely bloody amazing and the best I've ever seen 👌👌👌👌👍👍
Great video. No words, just informative photos. Missing screen trims are noticeable & white walls with over polished Kent alloys a little bling, but nice colour change from squadron. Outstanding work.
I would love to know where the red model came from - with the exception of the interior colour, my XJC is exactly the same colour and wheels as the red model.
It is a wonderful piece of work! Maximum respect to your skills and knowledge, turned in such results! Congratulations! I hope, you will enjoy it many many years! ❤🎉
Hello ; magnificent restoration work on a magnificent automobile. You did an amazing job !! I am going to start renovating my 1974 XJ6 4.2L, which I have owned for over 20 years, and your very detailed video will help me a lot. On the other hand, I fear not achieving such this level of quality... Bravo, thank you and enjoy good and long trips with your cars !
I'm watching Harry Metcalf having his Jag XJC being renovated at the moment and it is very interesting. It's shocking when the paint is blasted away to reveal not very much metal, that would finish me off, just where do you begin ? Great work guys, you are working with automotive art.
Harry's coupe is welded the right way. This cars welding job is not so good as you think. Autogeen welding where spotwelds should be for example. The detail of the job is shown with the piece with the cross pressing "completely wrong size". The cross member under the radiator is roughly welded together in a way that it will rust very fast again (a new cross member cost 100€) This video shows you if you want a good restored car do it yourself.
Wonderful, wonderful labour of love to preserve such a beautiful car. I also have an XJC, in primrose, which I originally got restored in 1987, and refreshed five years ago. It is and always has been in beautiful condition since the first renovation. I changed the diff ratio to 3.07 and changed the engine to a series 3 unit with two inch carbs. It rides beautifully on Konis, and I still love it to bits. Your inspiring video makes me appreciate more than ever the work of the artisans who saved the car back then. Congratulations and feel oh so proud of your great achievement!
Great Result!!....my old Jag is currently undergoing a complete renovation....now owned by Harry Metcalfe, I bought the XJC 5.3 in May 1978. At the time they could not sell them...new price was £12,870! I hope that you are able to locate the chrome side strips which the Daimler had, and the "D" motifs on the hub caps which are very rare. I did a highly enjoyable 60,000miles in the Jag....very quiet, very quick, very thirsty and rubbish Lucas window motors and fuel pumps....forgiven for everything though.
A heroic undertaking with a remarkably beautiful result, I salute the owner. I too ran a 12C when current in the late 70's when they were 'sale-proof'. It was a weekend show concours example - new they were not as well finished as this! Been following HM project too. My heart aches for the needs of XJ coupes in present times...
I recall the factory where this was made. Men and women with immense skills, but a factory so antique it was an impediment to their work. Well done for such a good restoration.
Fantastic work - the XJC must be considered as one of the most beautiful cars in the world - better than any Italian , French , American offering of the same era - massively under rated car . Stunning job on this one - well done 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
very good job. Looks better than new. I have a 1975 XJ12C that has 75,000 miles from new and always kept in a garage in Dry Texas. So no rust. Beautiful well designed car. Only people who can fix it should own one unless they are rich.
Its not Just a car,,its the sum of the hard work that people put into its creation,,,,and eventually being restored by others too. A reflection of untold efforts. Very classy car, music and video!
For a long time now I have loved this car I think it more lovely than the e type , you have done a most fantastic job fella , always remember the daimlers are cooler than jaguars even if everything is the nearly same in some models , even if people say" what is a daimler ? " , you can tell them that your car is more exclusive than a jag , for a start Hynek the grille and boot handle are much more pretty , I am very jealous of this car , I bet it smells nice in there, it is a shame we do not have " smellovision " or at the very least " scratch and sniff cards " that they used to promote perfume and aftershave , once again Hynek awesome result for all your hard work .
Kudos! That is what you call a 'nut & bolt' restoration :-) I've had my coupe since 1989 and this video is very useful to us fellow owners for the bits we have missed! I hope you enjoy the finished result, it must be one of the best out there and at last (finally) they are increasing in price as their desirability is being realised.
I have one of these as well. I plan to do a video where it m basically going to copy this format , but of course I’m going a totally different route on the build. I’m going to restomod mine but in a fairly unexpected and unique way. I’m on Maui and plan to make it my trophy car for sunset cruises. Another year or two I suppose. My 68 ss 396 Chevelle comes first. Aloha.
Very lovely car and you gave it new life. May it have a very long future to show how car and artwork once was done. The video sets a new standard and hopefully this helps vitality amongst those still having unfaited projects.
Wow amazing looks really well.A true classic Daimler.Well done on the renovation not many of these left now due to the rust problems English cars suffer
Who would leave a Van Gogh outside in the rain, snow, wind and hard sunshine? All of us. I have often wondered how crazy it is that the most expensive metal object we love is not always garaged. I cant afford one but they should provide one for every deserving car owner on the National Health. A happy car owner is a healthy car owner. Lol. Nice one Hynek. A 150 mph car right there. A BMW eater.
Where on earth did you acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out this work to this supreme level!? And where did you source all the replacement parts, essential to enable a complete restoration to this degree! Bravo...superb car, superb workmanship! Brilliant!
I think it's one of the most beautiful looking cars ever made.
Thanks
Love to see fabulous cars being rebuilt. The music was great for three minutes !!!!!!!!
Thanks. 45 minutes song :-)
The epitome of the big coupe, restored with love, passion and attention to detail. Outstanding work.
Insanely beautiful. A real good job, just Fine to watch the car coming back (or becoming even more beautiful) to its original splendor. I used to own a XJ12C, but I did not have the skills, tools and money to restore the car. So i am really happy to see that there are people out there that do.
Hello, Thank you very much.
Fantastic restoration and video: No talking, just got on with doing a lovely job.
Absolutely beautiful work, just a gorgeous car the XJC.
congratulations, 12 years! I'd hope it brings you joy everyday.
Thanks!
As an Englishman and former Jaguar owner, that is a beautiful job. I am very impressed.
Thanks
The detail you've gone into is amazing that car is better than it left the factory when it was new.... Stunning car
Thanks
Must be one of the most beautiful coupes out there. You have done an outstanding job restoring the Daimler Coupe. In one word: magnificent!
Thanks
Great job! And still one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Thanks
Really great work. This car is a piece of art.
Yes. Thanks.

Thanks
What is wrong about the wheels?
Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
Great video. No words, just informative photos. Missing screen trims are noticeable & white walls with over polished Kent alloys a little bling, but nice colour change from squadron. Outstanding work.
Stunning. Beautiful restoration.
Those Jaguar models you have are soo gorgeous
thanks
I would love to know where the red model came from - with the exception of the interior colour, my XJC is exactly the same colour and wheels as the red model.
Great coverage of a home restoration on an XJC that required a lot of work. Congratulations on a job well done and the vehicle looks stunning.
thanks.
Fantastic work, and lovely music as well. 🤓
Thanks
It is a wonderful piece of work! Maximum respect to your skills and knowledge, turned in such results! Congratulations! I hope, you will enjoy it many many years! ❤🎉

Hi, thank you very much. You will definitely succeed!

I think Harry’s was a bit worse to start with. Agree this is amazing though.
