The Apatosaurus was one of my favorite dinosaurs from Jurassic Park/World since the scene where the Apatosaurus was slowly dying from the wounds actually got me really sad and I cried while watching it.I hope it gets a Mattel toy since Hasbro never made a toy of it and it might be one of my top 5 long necks. Let’s hope Apatosaurus doesn’t get forgotten in other series if the live action movies continue.
Ron Perrine jr no. Pretty sure he's an apatosaurus. I recall that being mentioned in various places. First time I've ever heard someone call him that before
Fun (Sad) Fact The Brachiosaurus in Fallen Kingdom Eruption scene is rumored to be the same Brachiosaurus in the original JP film I admit I cried at that scene
I love the look of the Apatosaurus in the Jurassic series especially Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom. The Apatosaurus is personally my favorite sauropod dinosaur in general since The Land Before Time Movies and other dinosaur media. I really feel sad for those Apatosauruses in Jurassic World getting killed by the ferocious Indominus Rex. Great video for the Apatosaurus and I’m really sure that the Apatosaurus is going to make another appearance in Jurassic World III and in future Jurassic movies and future dinosaur movies.
Always reminds me of Muldoon's book quote when he finds the smashed enclosure fence showing the T-Rex loose with the herbivores. "Fine Dining Tonight."
2:05 we don't need a skull or anything to identify, the shoulder blades are what are actually needed. They are what distinguish them. And as rizky down in the comments section explains, the ones from TLW are indeed Brontosaurus! I can explain further.
Apatosaurus/Brontosaurus was one of the first few dinosaurs I ever learned about, along with the T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Diplodocus, Brachiosaurus, and Iguanadon. Later, they were followed by Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Ankylosaurus, Allosaurus, and then non-dinosaur dinosaurs like Pteranodon, Pterodactyls, Archaeopteryx, Mosasaurs & Pleisiosaurs, and an early prehistoric reptile, the Dimetrodon. Then Jurassic Park came out (though I had already read the book), but the internet didn't exist then. Hell, home computers barely existed then. But I learned about the Dilophosaurus, Carnotaurus, Ceratosaurus, Gallimimus, Ornithomimus, Velociraptor (and later Utah Raptor), & Compsognathus. I don't even think I knew Baryonx and Spinosaurus were real when JP3 came out. lol I'm such a nerd sometimes. lol I was that dinosaur kid with sets of toy dinosaurs and lots of dinosaur books. lol
Because I saw the 1993 film first before I read the first Crichton book, Brachiosaurus became my first favorite sauropod in the franchise as a whole. But when I first read the book, Apatosaurus became my *second* favorite, and after that, I had long wanted to see it in a "Jurassic" flick. Needless to say, my wish was granted in 2015.
Apatosaurus has always been one of my all time favorite dinosaurs, as well as one of my main favorite sauropods, along with Brachiosaurus. The death of the Apatosaur in "Jurassic World" reminded me a lot of the death of Littlefoot's mother in "The Land Before Time," which was really sad, but at least we got to see some survivors escape to the mainland in "Fallen Kingdom." I really hope we see them again for the next movie.
Was anyone else reminded of Littlefoot's mother when that apatosaurus died in Jurassic World? I think that was intentionally paying homage to The Land Before Time. 🦕😥
Was so good to see the paty get its deserved screen time. I would like to see the diplodocus get a go, always liked that guy too. Also love to see a sauropod defeat a therapod that would be cool.
I'm surprised it took as long for Apatosaurus to show up in these movies, considering that Apatosaurus AKA Brontosaurus, is one of the most iconic dinosaurs out there, next to T rex and Triceratops. Anyone else had the sponge dinosaurs that grew in water as a kid?
Both the Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus are my favorite too! 🦕 Love how they included them in Jurassic World plus with the Brachiosaurus too in Fallen Kingdom!
I loved the Apato in the novel, but I don't mind that they switched it to the Brachi- still a great dinosaur for Grant to first see in JP in one of the most memorable moments in Jurassic history.
I'm surprised the dinosaur didn't make many early appearances in the original JP trilogy. With all the games and action figures that were released back in the day, I'm surprised it didn't get much attention back then.
i am going to write down what i want to be the opening to jurassic world 3: The moon is shining in the night. We see a small house in a suburb. A cat is meowing at the moon while sitting on the wooden fence. Suddenly, the cat hears something. Then, we see a dinosaurs point of view, and we can se the cat run away. The POV runs up to the house, and climbs into the open window. We can see the camera look from side to side while we hear the dinosaur sniff in the air. Suddenly the camera stops and looks intensely at a baby-bed. The camera runs up to the bed, and jumps on to the fence of the bed. A baby is in the bed. The camera jumps into the bed and it closes in on the baby, when suddenly, the door opens. The dinosaur runs under the bed. «Honey, whats wrong?» The pair walk up to the baby-bed. «See, he is fine.» «Yeah, its just, i could have sworn i heard something.» «Lets go back to bed» «i dont feel safe. Im taking george with me. H can sleep with us tonight, cant he? «Of course it can, if it makes you feel better.» The pair pick up the baby and walk out of the room, closing the door. And then the camera goes under the bed, and reveals three compsognathus... Whaddya think?
Apatosaurus is my favorite sauropod because it was synonomised with Brontosaurus. Despite their being separated now, I ended up liking Apatosaurus more.

Did a research on what the Apatosaurus species in the movie could be. From what I got, it all leads to Apatosaurus excelsus, which is now Brontosaurus. That's just me though. Ok not only me, several other people agreed as well, but yeah.

And I'm going to use prehistoric animals for example and draw them!!! which three prehistoric creatures do you think I should do for my project??? Replaced by Brachiosaurus in the first and third movie, replaced by Namenchiasaurus or whatever its spelled in the Lost World movie, cut from Operation Genesis, appears in Jurassic World with a very sad death scene which later got overshadowed by the death of the first Brachiosaurus we see, yet at the same time they appear to have a few surviving species in comparison.
Apatosaurus is one amazing dinosaur I never knew that it was supposed to be in the original trilogy and when it was appeared in Jurassic World I really thought it was to replace the Brachiosaurus but thank goodness it was not it is an real gentle giant can’t wait to see it in JW3
Triceratop dinosaur is by far the most underused in the original Jurassic Park. Underused in the entire Jurassic Park/World franchise in general in all.
I wonder if it would be worth doing a video on Camarasaurus, considering that dinosaur *supposedly* replaces Apatosaurus in some printings of the original novel.
Going back to Lego: Jurassic World, one thing that's interesting is that you find the amber for it in the Lost World section of the game, so maybe there is something to that carcass, or that they just needed something to come back to after beating the Jurassic world section.
Both Apatosaurus and Brachiosaurus were sauropods I grew up with. Littlefoot is one of my childhood heroes and from JP, Brachiosaurus became iconic to me and I expected it in every Jurassic movie in which I missed it in TLW and JW. Apatosaurus is also my favorite novel canon herbivore.

Well everyone says it, but I don't think there's any proof to the idea all brachiosaurs died. We know one died in FK, but we don't know wether or not they captured other ones. There were more on the island. Plus there were a few more different sauropod species on Sorna, like the one that ran over the car in the stampede hunting scene from TLW. I forgot it's name.
Great video as always! I do you a question for you that's unrelated though. Do you think Clare should've been put in jail after the events of the first Jurassic World, with all the people who suffered from the dinosaurs? Not that I would want her to be in jail, but I get the feeling that's what would've happened realistically.
The Apatosaurus is one of the best new inclusions to the movie lore. So glad they brought a lot of focus to the pivotal sauropod from the book.
