@@flotterotter1202 We don't know that. We only found two specimen, one is a partial skeleton and the other a partial skull. Not a lot to go on as you can see, especially when the partial skeleton was blown up on WW2. So we only have a partial skull and drawings of the partial skeleton. With this we know this was a massive theropod, we just can't pin point how large. Lenght estimates place the partial skull between 12 and 13 meters, not up to 14, based on it's relatives that would result in a mass of ~7,5 metric tons. And the partial skeleton around 10 to 11 meters, which would result in a mass of ~5 metric tons. The biggest specimen of T.rex are in fact shorter than the largest Carcharadontosaurus at 12.3 meters in lenght(Sue) but they have been estimated to weigh up to 9 metric tons! Making T.rex the more massive(larger) theropod of the two. Carcharadontosaurus was indeed longer but not bigger.
The "JPOG" design is still the first image that comes to my mind when i think of this theropod in a "JP" context. But the "Evolution" design is good too, and I think it gives you a goods idea of what it *could* look like in a film installment.
I really like this dinosaur. Strange reason, maybe, but the sounds these animals make in JWE are super imposing. Like, the heavy rumbling noise you hear right before they kill a human/goat straight up just sounds like THREAT. The T-Rex roar is iconic as hell, obviously, but I always think that the more subtle noises these dinosaurs make are probably more realistic, and therefore definitely creepier. The T-Rex sounds like a movie monster. The Carchar. sounds like a very real, very dangerous animal. Somehow, that always scares me more
Awesome video of the History of the Carcharodontosaurus in the Jurassic series. Carcharodontosaurus is one of my favorite Gigantosaurus dinosaur since Polar Allosaurus and different types of Allosaurs. I really hope that the Carcharodontosaurus would be in the future Jurassic movies and Camp Cretaceous coming next year as well as the toy-line from Mattel. Great video Klayton and as always, Take It Easy.
I would love to see the Carcharodontosaurus on the big screen maybe in a spin-off JP series or non canon movie. It’s such a unique dinosaur and I so hope it’s design is similar to the JWE design with the operation genesis colour scheme.
I'm honestly tied on which one I like most. The Operation Genesis skin is so Iconic, yet the overall model of the Evolution is a lot more pleasant in my opinion.
Carcharodontosaurus was one of the very first dinosaurs I ever knew about, plus its name was a running gag in an episode of Dinosaur King. I really hope he appears in a tv show or movie one day
Gotta thank Warpath for introducing me to both Acro and Carchar. They both and Giga are my holy trinity. I prefer Carchar from Warpath design though. Its vocalization is cool too
The design from the evolution games must be quite popular as a action figure based on it was made by Mattel and I happen to be one of those people who loves the design. And I am hoping that we get the evolution game design carcharodontosauridae introduced into chaos theory season 2.
Great to see you finally touching upon the main man Klayton! Btw, anyone else noticed that (if we discount the Spinosaurus) Charcharodontosaurus actually was the largest terrestrial predator the Eastern world had ever seen if im not wronge.
Would be great to see this dinosaur. As well a Tabosaurus and... a suchomimous to complete that family of dinosaur. Perhaps fishing for prehistoric fish.
I love the JWE Design, especially the colours, I think the Carcha would be cool to see in a future film, as long as we don't end up with another winning the fight with a T rex controversy.
I still believe Warpath JP had the best sound effects for Caracharodontosaurus and is my favorite incarnation of Carchara. Other JP games after that, it’s sound effects just aren’t as intimidating, scary, and memorable, WJP’s Carchara has sounds that sends chills down your spine.
Carcharodontosaurus is my favourite dinosaur, mainly due to Operation Genesis. I did like its appearance in the BBC doco Planet Dinosaur as well. Personally I love its updated look in JWE, and its unique roar - just wish it had unique animations.
Ah yes, the shark toothed lizard itself. I remember it well from JPOG, but it has sadly been mostly neglected by the Jurassic Park Franchise in general.
Looking at the formation the only animal that can pose a threat to Spinosaurus is probably another Spinosaurus. As *Dinosaur Heretic* said Carcharo probably remained inland most of the time and hunt different prey.
@@KhanMann66 True, conflicts between Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus would've been extremely rare. I guess they would only meet when a Spinosaurus is desperate for food and tries to steal a kill from a Carcharodontosaurus.
