When I heard "Jurassic Park IV" before Jurassic World was even announced, I always pictured a movie with Ellie as the main character. Since Malcolm had Lost World and Grant had JP3, Ellie Sattler would be the protagonist of Jurassic Park IV.

Jeez people be thinking it's a crime to be a fan of 'Jurassic Park 3' Lol. Personally I think it was a brilliantly innovative addition to the franchise with a great variety of dinosaur appearances to boot. Suck it haters.
I love JP3 for Stan Winston's amazing work on the animatronics. The world design was fantastic and the dinosaurs so unbelievably beautiful. The plot really is the weakest part of it and I can't stop wondering why they threw out a perfectly good script and went all spontaneous instead. I mean, it clearly wasn't a budget issue as they already had the actors, sets and animatronics ready. One thing I am really missing in the movies which I enjoyed in the books is the portrayal of BioSyn, Dodgson, his treatment of the scientific power that humans never should've tampered with, and his awesome death scene in the second book. I also thought Malcolm's "daughter" didn't fit in that well replacing Arby and the girl whose name I cannot remember right now. They were not even his children in the book. They got into real, actual danger being on the island. Otherwise, I love JP, I love all of the movies except, sorry, JW, which I simply cannot come to terms with plot-wise, and my animatronics fetishist heart of course was bummed to find out that the beautiful work of Legacy effects was cut from the final movie. And honestly I feel that JP did better CGI work in 1993 than JW in 2015.
As I know, Legacy Effects made only the light reference Raptor heads and the head of the Apatosaurus for Jurassic World. No snimatronics cut from the movie. I hate the Jurassic World trilogy for the stupid story's, the bad CGI (only the redesigned T-Rex in Dominion is good) and missing suspense.
I always say that JP3 would have been so much more interesting if they shifted the focus of the story onto Erik's survival and how he managed to live alone for 8 weeks. I get that it's more difficult to have a 3 act story and dialog in that scenario but given what we got, I wouldn't mind risking the chances.
also the T. Rex death would've been more realistic, the ingen spinos jaws in jp 3 are like sarcosuchus jaws, if the ingen spino has anywhere near neck muscles in jp 3, it would have crushed the T. Rex's neck into oblivion. Which is what happens in the OG jp3.
I think there's only one way to make a new JP film, that will actually be considered "good": It needs to take place parallel to the events of JP1 or very close to it's time. Showing the events through different eyes. What the Jurassic World movies are doing is somewhat understandable since it's more or less the logical consequence. But especially JW2 is missing that old JP-DNA.
I'm actually ok with how JP 3 turned out the bird cage scene was really awesome. Now those original ideas for JP 2 and 4 sound AMAZING especially Grant and Ian teaming up again. I dont really like how JP 4 and 5 turned out :(
Jurassic world 1 was a nice love letter to the original and it's nice to see what a fully operating park would have looked like. I just wasn't a fan of the new hybrids they kept making and the human clone thing
Crichton was such a genius. I wish they used more of the dialogue from his books in the movies. Much of the intellectual discussion in the first Jurassic Park was what made me fall in love with the series, and I started tuning out when I heard less and less of it. The theories and discoveries pointed out by the characters in those books in spoken word were what gave me a greater sense of dread than anything the dinosaurs actually did.
Forget all the weird ideas, I just want them to recreate the scene from the novel where Robert Muldoon is wedged into a concrete tube, drunk on whiskey and blowing raptors apart with an anti-tank launcher.
i did notice that the scene where hammond falls down a hill and dies like a little bitch was in one of the scripts. except instead of being eaten by compys, he drown in a puddle
Goes to show the importance of making multiple script passes at your story, giving time to refine your ideas and bounce them off other people. Otherwise, even if the final product isn't all around loved, those good ideas that were introduced in subsequent drafts would shine through.
@Somethingofa moviegeek Lost World is glorious, especially compared to the crap that was FK. Worst film in the franchise and one of the worst films of the year.
@Somethingofa moviegeek well personally for me it's one of those rare cases where the film improves the book. The Lost World novel isn't bad by any means but it was obvious as hell that Chrichton had never written a sequel to any of his books, he was really struggling to move the story forward, for me it also became a bit boring in the middle, the moment with Kelly and Sarah on the motorbike seemed too silly even in my imagination, Dogdson was really too silly to take a single rifle to an island with dinosaurs(!?), Levine was annoying as hell and the ending was way too quick. The movie on the other hand logically moves the dealings of INGEN forward, Ian has an emotional reason for going back to the island and the ending in San Diego is actually a nice and exciting nod to the original Lost World movie from 1928 (hence the title) as well as King Kong. But then again I've grown up with the older films and seeing something as bad as FK really pains me, this series deserves better.
Michael Chrichton was forced to write the sequel because everyone wanted a new story. It's thanks to him that the script from the first Jurassic movie was the only good one in the franchise.
@@5thejurassic I agree. Lost World the book takes too long to get going, has too much silly dated stuff on the wonders of 1990's computers and I wholeheartedly agree Dodgson didn't 'rate' well and Levine's anti-science rants, tangents and misperceptions of scientists was not only annoying but got me pissed off at him (and by extension Chrichton, who i otherwise admire.) The movie sensibly removed Levine. And the movie has a smoother story. I did like the book's long river dino encounters 'ride' tho.
imho, the "best" part of all the movies was the FX. None of them can hold a candle to the books. It's pretty much the same with all of Crichton's books/ movies
The one thing I remember from the book was the description of how nedry dies. The slash of the claw across the belly with his entrails hanging out. And then the dilophosaurus bit down on both sides of his head and lifted him into the air
I remember seeing JP1 in 1993 in Pinconning, Mi. I fell in love with the movie I ran to Walmart and got the soundtrack, poster and whatever i could find. That night I fell asleep to the soundtrack and listen to it over and over. I went 2 more times to see the movie that month and have been a fan ever since. New SUB I really enjoy you exploring the JP lore and movie lore.
I think that Jurassic World: Ancient Futures would have been the best (although I’m glad they changed the name to Fallen Kingdom, because to me that sounds cooler).
Jurrassic park IV (The Steven Spielberg Idea) this is really the only version that I was ever made aware of and I was made aware of while the movie was still being considered and then learning eventually that it was cancelled I was rather crushed, it was a while ago and I don't remember much about it but one thing I do remember from my uncle who lives down in Milwaukee Wisconsin this script was supposed to also star Tommy Lee Jones and I learned about that and I was beyond super hyped for it. unfortunately it never came to be.
4:23 He didn't think anyone would want to watch a few annoying teenagers stranded on site b. Well Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is basically that but on site a and it's pretty good if you ask me. Also, I think the kids there are fairly well written.
i feel like even with all of these iconic movies and games related to the jp franchise we still don't have enough content to satisfy us .. to let me say *this is enough*
I love hearing about unmade movies of any franchise I am a fan of whether they are good or bad. I might be the only here to say this but I wouldn't mind seeing all of these unmade JP/JW movies to be made either as animated movies or as comic books similar to Dark Horse Comics doing a comic book based on one of the early scripts of Alien 3 (while I am not really into comics I am willing to take a look on ones based on my favourite franchises especially if they are unmade movies).
While I enjoy the Lost world and JP3 that we got I would’ve loved to have seen the OG scripts come to life. As well as the JP4 script that Spielberg liked.
My thoughts immediately went to the catastrophe that was the production of the Disney Star Wars trilogy. Especially the mess that was TRoS and its extentive rewrites and reshoots.
“The script is evolving and changing as we go, who launched a 100,000,000$ ship without a rudder, who was hired for this, SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE SHOT, *SCREEEEEEEEEE* ” Boy, that escalated quickly...
Wow that version of the Lost World sounded great. I kind of also wish we would have gotten a more book accurate Lost World movie, I really enjoyed the book as a kid and was excited they were making a movie around it. I was kind of sad that it turned out to be so different but I was still happy because Malcolm was such a large part of it anyway.
Sad Jurassic Park 3 couldn't follow though with the ideas of dinosaurs getting off the island sooner. I would have also loved to see the original script for Jurassic Park 1 filmed
@Joshua Shank they wouldnt. He didnt mind the movies that were made off his books. He liked that more people had a new interest in prehistoric animals.
@@elelz6409 Even so, Crichton's original Jurassic Park was primarily about mankind playing God with genetics. The dinosaur aspect could be substituted with anything else that is clone-able while still fulfilling the main theme.
I remember the first time I read the name "Nick Van Owen", I literally thought it said, "Nick, Van Owner" like he was the guy whose van they would be using in the, as of then, unreleased Lost World movie lol
Honestly, I would’ve really liked to have seen that whole section in JW2 where they actually mention Sorna and have Malcom play a bigger role. Also, even if I do love what we got in The Lost World, having Roland come out with his gun and be the big hero at the end would’ve been pretty sweet to see.
In The lost World, could someone, after all these years, explain to me how, on the Trex cargo ship with only the Trex, the entire crew was eaten with the Captains hand still at the wheel?
In the book it was raptors that got on the boat and wasted the crew. That was the original plan in the lost world but got scrapped and they didn't clean up the scene leaving us all confused unless you read the book with the reference.
I'm super late, but the thing is (and it was not explained well) the trex was not originally in the cargo hold. It was supposed to be in that shaped cage you see briefly on the deck, but there were issues with the tranquillizer. They gave him too much and he was dying so they panicked and administered adrenaline. The t-rex woke up and started killing everyone while the crew tried to trap it in the cargo hold, probably, and this bit is a guess, using the baby to lure him in. The last surviving crew member died holding the buttons for the doors. ....and then a friggin' cop pushed the button and let it out so that sacrifice was for nothing.
2:56 that story was partially used in Jurassic world they used the military and human command story. these stories are just like creating books, so many rewrites and evolutions before final releases its fascinating how these things are mad3
I would love to actually have these movies made as like a proposed alternate universe, a “what if” movie. I would also love novelized versions of these
Eh, while I do love the book, and would love to see a remake with certain elements of the book reincorporated, there are parts of the movie that are so much better
That's what I want them to do. Remake Jurassic Park and The Lost World, but make the rated R, stay more loyal to Crichton's plots, and update the dinosaurs to make them as scientifically accurate as possible, feathers and all. That's what I want to see. I know of course that there will never be an R rated JP movie because it's so marketable to children. But I'd like to see it, nevertheless.
Agreed, I still love the novel and was surprised at the total difference between them (mistakenly did it in reverse, movie than book). While the movie was great (Saw it 6 times in the theater), the novel version make more chronological sense and gives more background on the characters.
This needs to be a Netflix or HBO series with the Costa Rican govt trying to find out what is going on. Then use flashbacks to demonstrate actions by ingen.
It looked like the spinosaurus was still there for the plane crash scene but it would not be the movie's main antagonist like it was in the final version.
Considering that the final script took only five weeks to finish, the animatronic for the Spinosaurus was mostly likely built by then. Of course they wouldn't throw away such huge and expensive thing that probably took at least a year to build. Besides, Clayton didn't mention that there was *NO* Spinosaurus in the OG script.
One thing I do really like about the early script for JP3 and the earlier version of the final script was the much longer Spinosaurus vs. T.rex fight. It's much more back and forth and I feel would have easily rivaled the spectacle we got in JW's finale. The T.rex gets some more good hits in, the Spinosaurus has interesting moves like a tail bash and actually using its claws, has a very King Kong 1933 vibe.
10 sorta reminds me of dino crisis, a dino based horror made by the same makers of Resident Evil. doesn't have hyrbid dinos, but it damn well couldve done it.
jp3 was a good movie, i liked it.. but the script with all the mystery wouldve been 10x better also i wouldve much preferred to see a script closer to the original novel for jp1
It's interesting to think of how that garden of eden one would have been. I know from reading the novel, it struck me that the one character with a substantial arc is not who you think it would be. It was the lawyer. He got combined with another guy, a park ranger, in the final movie. But the lawyer in the books was forced to face his culpability in what happened, despite his reservations. He also has a daughter who he skipped out on her birthday to go to this emergency check in on the park. It made you root for his survival. Anyways, it sounds like he would have been closer to his og counterpart.
10:55 I personally loved the alternative version of first Jurassic park in which the only change was the death of Hammond by his own creation and his death was praised by his own voice “WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK”. 15:20 I would have also loved to see the alternative version of the jp3
My absolute favorite franchise since I was a kid. I wanted to share that with my son. He's 8....but his mom sat him down and watched them all with him....another dream gone
Me, personally, I like 3 of the ideas, the Nick Harris idea, Spielberg's original JP IV idea as well as the original JP3 idea, instead of what we got. Welp, if JW3 does well enough, then maybe we can get some more movies with returning and new characters!!
Crichton's original JP script, the OG Lost World Script, and Spielberg's Idea for JP4 are all movies I would have liked to see.

Jeez people be thinking it's a crime to be a fan of 'Jurassic Park 3' Lol.
Personally I think it was a brilliantly innovative addition to the franchise with a great variety of dinosaur appearances to boot.
Suck it haters.
I agree. It’s my favorite right after the second. People just focus too much on analysis instead of fun, which movies are for.
Yeah Jp3 was good except for the T-Rex vs spino fight
I love that movie too!
@@cvnbgb pretty much this, though i love the shade thats thrown at it in JW when the T-Rex smashes through a spino skeleton on its arrival at the end.
@@cvnbgb That's the best scene. Spino made so many fans cry while flexing on the corpse of a dead horse. Brilliant indeed.

“You won’t be so lucky next time”-I forgot who said this but it seemed fitting
How would Hammond know about the Barbasol Can?

Spielberg's version of JP 4 could be adapted to become an awesome spin-off.
Lmao, don't give Netflix any ideas. 😂
Prequel
@@omigawdd why not? That movie would have been way better than Fallen Kingdom at least.
RushOut or a future sequel.
Imagine the trilogy with the prions concept retained from The Lost World novel + Spielberg's idea for JP3. Imagine if Spielberg directed all three.
That would have been very interesting.

i mean it is a pretty awesome concept i kinda wish we got to see it even as just a short segment in one of these movies
It’s so stupid tho 😂 y drug lords instead of terrorists and big pharma?
Probably to have better kill scenes. Ppl like seeing bad guys getting torn apart. Like in Lost World. More death scenes.
This is phenomenal
I doubt you'd make story long enough that is interesting for a movie.
However a TV miniseries on the other hand would be great.
Nice foreshadowing of camp cretaceous. The story that parallels jw1. If only they did it with jp1

I'm actually ok with how JP 3 turned out the bird cage scene was really awesome. Now those original ideas for JP 2 and 4 sound AMAZING especially Grant and Ian teaming up again. I dont really like how JP 4 and 5 turned out :(

Grain jurassic world and Jwfk
Everardo_G there Is no jp 4 or 5 . It became JW
Paul Williams yeah I don’t really like it when people call jw 1 & 2 , Jp 4 & 5
Y E S
i did notice that the scene where hammond falls down a hill and dies like a little bitch was in one of the scripts. except instead of being eaten by compys, he drown in a puddle
That scene of him being mauled by the raptors while the Jurassic Park video was playing sounded really cool
Im pretty sure you cant shoot an AT launcher in a confined space. Thats a very easy way to die.
@@kazak8926 yeah films aren’t real
@@PrincessDesert The script for Lost World was good too and the script for JW was decent if not perfect. But FK was just terrible and ridiculous.
If you want the best version of Jurassic Park, then read the original book written by Michael Crichton.
I still own a heavily read paperback version of the first book.
imho, the "best" part of all the movies was the FX. None of them can hold a candle to the books. It's pretty much the same with all of Crichton's books/ movies
I read the books and they were even better than the movie and even more disturbing and terrifying
@@andreznoriega3266 just imagine JW3 opening with the small dinosaurs eating that baby alive.

@@WillTuliv to be fair the dude in the suit ordered the cop to open the cargo hold.
2:56 that story was partially used in Jurassic world they used the military and human command story.
these stories are just like creating books, so many rewrites and evolutions before final releases
its fascinating how these things are mad3
I would love to actually have these movies made as like a proposed alternate universe, a “what if” movie. I would also love novelized versions of these
No.
As a fan of unproduced/alternate version screenplays, I found this video to be quite informative. Keep up the great work.
A verbatim film adaptation of Crichton's first book would've been amazing. Still wish maybe one day we'll get it.
Eh, while I do love the book, and would love to see a remake with certain elements of the book reincorporated, there are parts of the movie that are so much better
FUSE BOTH OF THEM TO MAKE THE ULTIMATE JURASSIC PARK!
Maybe a Game?
That jurassic park 3 scrip sounds incredible. Jp3 could've/should've been so much better than what we got.
I wouldn't mind seeing some of these... Others are really junk
And what r those *some*
They're all really bad, except for the first one
Emiliano Dean you kidding me? The first one is terrible as well Who thought a human dinosaur hybrid was a good idea?
Black Man fr the first one is the most bad of them all
So the original JP III had no Spinosaurus? Wow. I am glad he was in the final cut!
TheBoxingSimulator //RileyTBS same
It looked like the spinosaurus was still there for the plane crash scene but it would not be the movie's main antagonist like it was in the final version.
I don't get bored watching dinosaur movies every two years, i hope after JW 3 we get more
One thing I do really like about the early script for JP3 and the earlier version of the final script was the much longer Spinosaurus vs. T.rex fight. It's much more back and forth and I feel would have easily rivaled the spectacle we got in JW's finale. The T.rex gets some more good hits in, the Spinosaurus has interesting moves like a tail bash and actually using its claws, has a very King Kong 1933 vibe.
Damn i like the Ian on the boat part .__. Sounded Like would had been a really interesting movie
This is defiantly your best video so far! It’s such an amazing experience learning about Jurassic park films that weren’t made.
Damn. Michael Crichton’s screenplay sounded pretty awesome!
Apex / Kong V Godzilla is filming near to me now. I can't wait to see it
Bryce McKenzie where?

Windward Community College and the H3
I just finished doing some work on that. ;)
Tristan Noel sure you did
The Lost World was my favorite of two Jurassic Park movies. More than the first even. I loved the first, but the second was the best.
I like the ideah of a mystery type surrounded by dinasours instead of the chaotic running n screaming with no plot route they went with the new ones
Ikr
10 sorta reminds me of dino crisis, a dino based horror made by the same makers of Resident Evil.
doesn't have hyrbid dinos, but it damn well couldve done it.
played the hell out of that when i was young. nightmares for years
Ah, the old PS1 days
The idea of 5 greek raptors, 2 dilos & and anklyosaurus flying in on parachutes as a introduction to fight nearly sent me over the edge
jp3 was a good movie, i liked it.. but the script with all the mystery wouldve been 10x better
also i wouldve much preferred to see a script closer to the original novel for jp1
The original ideas for The Lost World, the second Jurassic World and the Spielberg idea for Jurassic Park Four would have been wonderful.
I agree
Directors: "Nobody wants to see a bunch of teenagers stranded on an island"
Camp Cretaceous: "Hold my beer."
Wow great video. Love the Lost World PS1 background music cues you use!
You did it again, mr. Fioriti. Another great vid. Still following, still amazed! :D
3:38 They did actually use much of that in Jurassic World...
Those two deaths for John Hammond are particularly poetic.
However, "each film has its own fans"? Even the third one?
Finally: 5:18, 5:43.
yes, i love jp3
10:55 I personally loved the alternative version of first Jurassic park in which the only change was the death of Hammond by his own creation and his death was praised by his own voice “WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK”.
15:20 I would have also loved to see the alternative version of the jp3
what a good ideas! I could use some of that stuff for my stories
My absolute favorite franchise since I was a kid. I wanted to share that with my son. He's 8....but his mom sat him down and watched them all with him....another dream gone
Dang that sucks man
Me, personally, I like 3 of the ideas, the Nick Harris idea, Spielberg's original JP IV idea as well as the original JP3 idea, instead of what we got.
Welp, if JW3 does well enough, then maybe we can get some more movies with returning and new characters!!
Personally, I would've really liked to have seen the original Steven Spielberg JPIV.
GOSH THE BACKGROUDN SONG MADE ME CHILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Malusaurus did have a cool design and would be pretty cool if Jurassic World had the Malusaurus instead of Indominous as the hybrid
always find it weird that Vince Vaughn was in Jurassic park XD
Me to! He did a good job though, I like him in it.
