On a podcast (cant remember if it was Jurassic Unicast or InGeneral) someone did theorise that Grant was maybe shown the types of raptors that were on Sorna before he was conned into going. Its very unlikely that did happen but its the only logical explanation
I watched JP3 for the first time in months yesterday, and bad acting from Téa Leoni aside, it holds up surprisingly well. The fight with the Spino, while highly controversial, actually shows that Ingen had truly created a monster, as hinted at by Grant in his speech. "What John Hammond and Ingen did is create theme park monsters. Nothing more, nothing less".
I’ve said it a thousand times, I’m absolutely convinced they didn’t tell her they were going to drop the skeleton on her cos that was the only believable moment from her I will say though having just learned from this vid that the fight was purely CGI, as much as for me this is the weakest movie in the franchise (so far) that CGI is miles better than any he first of the Jurassic World trilogy

But I wish there were other pictures clearly showing the broken animatronic. It bothers me a bit that that event is mostly lost to time.

Another abandoned idea was the T-Rex whipping the Spino with its tail as opposed to biting the neck. A lot more believable; nothing on earth could have survived such a bite from Rex. Don’t get me wrong, I know Spino wouldn’t have won in real life but I can believe this “genetically engineered monster” isn’t a normal creature. That bite however? Even with Jack “T Rex was a scavenger” Horner on board as scientific advisor, they shouldn’t have started the fight with what’s essentially a fight-ending and life-ending move
It still amazes me how this new generation of fans are so in love with the spino. Especially if you were a fan of JP and TLW with the rexs being your fav Dino’s. I’m a JP T-Rex fan even before JP fan. But I still love the spino. It’s more of the people BTS that wanted to kill off a Rex. Like why? Like you said in a previous video it’s like in the og Star Wars films if in episodes 4 & 5 Vader is the big bad then in 6 he gets killed right away. It’s like jarring to say the least. It’s a shame how many Rex haters there is now or just fans who dislike Rex fans. I mean I can only speak for myself but I very much and have always wanted a Rex spino rematch with the Rex coming out on top. It’s due! (All imo if anyone disagrees I respect your opinion 100% please respect mine it’s just a movie) I feel like crying when I see the poor rex in pain lol.
Hey Klayton seeing that darker version would have been great but I think the movie did pretty good as well. Maybe in the next movie a T-Rex should kill a Spinosaurus it'd be a little payback from the third movie.😊
You know, if my game Dino Hunter Deadly Shores was using that material for Jurassic Park 3. I think Vicious the male Tyrannosaurus rex created from Biosyn that has Trophy Hunt colors on his skin, would've used his Voracious Chomp and with an insatiable appetite on the Spinosaurus created from Ingen that doesn't have Trophy Hunt colors on her skin.
The Spino picking the T-Rex up and tearing apart it's neck would've been a more brutal conclusion to the fight. I think they might have changed this because Dino Crisis already head the Giga kill the Rex in a similar manner. Literally picking up the T-Rex and tossing it through the air before ripping its throat out or crushing it's skull.
This would have been great. And they even could of used some of the footage of the rex losing its head maybe but that might of been a bit over the top. Would be cool if a rex got some kind of redemption on a spino or a dinosaur like that like maybe a bari or a suco

It sucks that they killed the Rex in JP///. Still, they brought back Rexy in JURASSIC WORLD in 2015. Also my Birthday is on Wednesday, ill be 34 this year! Keep up the good work.
Was the Spino scene accurate? Nope. Was it awesome to watch? Yes, yes, it was. I've grown to love and appreciate the modern Spinosaurus, but that damn crashout kaijuu from JP3 holds a very special place in my heart. It's right there with Rexy 😂😂😂
Do you think it’s possible they filmed the practice stuff only for trailers and tv spots? Like did they know back then they didn’t want it in the movie.
Really disliked this scene from the first time I saw it back in 2001. One of the most pivotal elements that made Jurassic Park (1993) so great was the fact that it wasn't a monster movie, that these were living creatures capable of sentient decisions and it even added to the terror within the film, it made the Dinosaurs more believable, unpredictable and it really elevated the film past B-movie creature feature status. As the franchise progressed they just became monster movies, which is a shame. This scene also didn't really serve much purpose but to homage old monster movies with behemoths duking it out over the skyline of a famous city, and to introduce a creature that was supposed to be more terrifying than the T-Rex, but when you have an animal that size (let alone two) chasing you, the difference in fear factor is marginal at best. Overall I did feel like the violence within the Jurassic franchise to be quite uneven and even sometimes quite cruel (I'm looking at Zara in Jurassic World) - I think there's a certain balance to be maintained when you're dealing with subject matter like this.
Even thought the movie isnt favorite for a lot but you've got to admit that the movie atleast focus on dinosaurs unlike the modern one we dont point fingers to
My biggest complaint was it happened way to early in the movie and that the whole fight is was over in less than a minute. It was very anti climatic and disappointing. Funnily enough they did do what I had recommended how this fight should have gone somewhat in Jurassic World. In where the T Rex fought the Indominus ultimately saving the humans. Though in my version it was obviously the Spino and the T Rex would have still lost and died(and no Mosasaurus clearly). So perhaps they still might to something like this in this new Jurassic film only change it so the T Rex wins, but ultimately succumbs to its wounds(or the humans could save the T Rex by treating its wounds, paying the debt for saving their lives many times in the films).
I would’ve loved to see it and next Jurassic film with Scarlett Johansson and Ian McGregor in it Trex killing a random competitor that will be worth seeing.
I love the Stan Winston Spinosaurus design, It is a peak design one of the best dinosaur designs out there. That being said I never really expected the franchise to kill off the Symbol & even with the context it always felt forced, unnecessary & Aggressive. When it happened I remembered it being a pivotal moment in my mind, Looking back it doesn’t bother me as much anymore because I’ve grown to appreciate & still be able to enjoy JP3. I would’ve preferred a fight similar to the first battle the Giganotosaurus & Rex Had in Jurassic World 3 which took place in the Biosyn Sanctuary over the deer kill. That fight would’ve been better since we unfortunately didn’t get that I accept that it’s a flawed, hiccup, silly & forgetful part of the franchise. Even though Jurassic Park 3 created such a ridiculous divide in the fandom over Spinosaurus Or Tyrannosaurus Rex along with toxic fake fans who are still coping with the fact they are so threatened by the Tyrant Lizard King they have to draw fan edits of the T.rex being killed or draw Spinosaurus pairs killing the Buck & Doe it’s actually quite comical to me, A lot of the time these people are grown adults who are pressed over a fictional extinct animal like cmon man. 🤣
Im glad that scene didnt happen. It was already bad enough the Spino killing the T rex the way it did 😅 Fast forward to date and the shocking thing is that they realised Spinosaurus was not built anything like it was in this movie. It had short limbs and was very aquatic. So it just goes to show that it was not the big bad super predator that made. T rex look weak as jack horner was so sure of.
I don't understand much of the hate that JP3 got for snapping and killing the T rex. Having the T rex be the star in every movie gets stale, especially in Dominion. That movie needed the Spinosaurus to return. Since most fans like T rex, and the movie got a lot of hate for the way the T rex died, but getting Its neck snapped is a cool and unique death. Besides, fingers crossed that the Spinosaurus returns in Jurassic World Rebirth🤞
Same here. I like how Spinosaurus changed things up. What would be really cool is if we got a version that resembles the more up to date depictions. Even if not Spinosaurus, then how about Oxalaia.
As a kid, I hated the scene because they killed off the only character I cared about. As an adult, I hate it because had a t.rex actually gotten its jaws around the throat of the spinosaurus like it does in the scene-that would have been game over for the spino. That would have ended the fight right there. The T. rex wouldn’t have let go and that bite would have crushed the spino’s vertebrae, its airway, and cut off the blood circulation to the head.
usually no animals first bite is it’s killing blow, keep in mind the spino was still much denser than the rex and if you take into consideration the fight was before we knew so much more about both animals, it makes sense it played out the way it did with the help of plot
Not gonna lie, that would have been a horrifying way to kill the t-rex. I would have turned my head away had I saw this when I first saw JP3. With that said, I hope t-rex will kill another big carnivorous dinosaur like that in a future movie. This thing was named the tyrant lizard king for a reason. Let it prove that to us in future movie, Jurassic. But this was a great video.
As unrealistic as the spino killing the T-Rex was, I always loved that scene. The idea of another apex predator bigger and badder than the T-Rex always fascinated me. Edit: instead of the Therozenosaurus (I’m probably not spelling that right) coming to Rexy’s aid in Dominion, it should have been the spino

I wish they'd go w/ a more violent tone. It would be so much more reminiscent of the image they were trying to create in the 90's.
I think that all this information is very interesting and i wish we got his scene in Jurassic park 3.
No one gives enough credit how the CGI in the fight actually feels like it has WEIGHT.
honestly the CGI from the 2000s was somehow better than it is nowadays
I wanna watch that video of the robot spino vs the robot rex.
Even with Jack “T Rex was a scavenger” Horner on board as scientific advisor, they shouldn’t have started the fight with what’s essentially a fight-ending and life-ending move
the trexes bite force has been nerfed since the very beginning of the franchise, since the first movie etc
It’s due! (All imo if anyone disagrees I respect your opinion 100% please respect mine it’s just a movie)
I feel like crying when I see the poor rex in pain lol.
Thought I was the only one who notices the spinosaurus’ claws cutting into the trex’s face. They’re just not there when you see it dead on the ground
When will you upload more videos on DragonCurve?
It still triggers me after 4 yrs god damn it
JP3 was the first time I left a movie theater disappointed. I was 11 at the time and I was super psyched for it
Hey Klayton seeing that darker version would have been great but I think the movie did pretty good as well. Maybe in the next movie a T-Rex should kill a Spinosaurus it'd be a little payback from the third movie.😊
2:15 HOLY SHIT, if Ingen Spino in the movie has Ultra Instinct, then Storyboard Spino has fucking MUI
Ahh yes my traumatic times of being a t rex fan this scene alone turned me into a carnotaurus fan 😭
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
They should've went all out with that fight, they really dropped the ball.
You either die a villian dino or live long enough yo see yourself become the hero. 😂
I will never not notice that now 3:39
This would have been great. And they even could of used some of the footage of the rex losing its head maybe but that might of been a bit over the top. Would be cool if a rex got some kind of redemption on a spino or a dinosaur like that like maybe a bari or a suco
wow man i didn't know the spino's claws sunk into the rex. NUTS!
Ok I just thought of a cool fight giganotosaurus vs carnotaurus
that would not pair up well a Carno would never try to fight a Giga
Ah yes the infamous scene that killed the series for 14 years
Um no only for trex fanboys. 6 year old me was amazed that a dino was bigger and better than rex. Rex fanboys ruined the franchise
@@dandino8100first of all they didn’t second of all you saw this at 6?
@@ethanxillasaurus2572I mean it’s not surprising. My first time watching Jurassic park 3 was also when I was 6.
@@dandino8100Calling anyone Rex fan boys when the symbol is a Tyrannosaurus Rex makes you look like a clown self reflect. Saying the Spinosaurus is better is flat out wrong considering that is just your opinion it’s not how everyone feels. T.rex was always more popular & that clearly bothers you & so many other shallow fake fans. You, Other posers claiming to be fans, Spino The King & Jack Horner ruined the franchise & your own behavior clearly speaks for itself.
@@ethanxillasaurus2572 I saw that film twice in theaters at 6 as well tbf, I was hyped
It sucks that they killed the Rex in JP///.
Still, they brought back Rexy in JURASSIC WORLD in 2015.
Also my Birthday is on Wednesday, ill be 34 this year!
Keep up the good work.
Do more vids like these. The cutroom floor of JP is better than the movies!
this fight is the best dinosaur fight in the franchise
It also looked like one of the fingers started stabbing a little part of the eye of the trex
KLAYTON U WERE MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!!
1:15, haha. Those are some darker details.
Can they for once show the power the trex actually has
yeah JP1
Was the Spino scene accurate? Nope. Was it awesome to watch? Yes, yes, it was.
I've grown to love and appreciate the modern Spinosaurus, but that damn crashout kaijuu from JP3 holds a very special place in my heart. It's right there with Rexy 😂😂😂
I THINK IT WOULD VERY COOL
Please review chaos theory season 2, THERE'S A LOT OF KENJI AND YAZ SCENES
@@Vadim-Goeke lol, rejected 🤣
@Bullboy_Adventures SHUT UP
Baryonyx was mention in the movie, suchomimus tho
I would’ve loved to see it and next Jurassic film with Scarlett Johansson and Ian McGregor in it Trex killing a random competitor that will be worth seeing.
I love the Stan Winston Spinosaurus design, It is a peak design one of the best dinosaur designs out there.
That being said I never really expected the franchise to kill off the Symbol & even with the context it always felt forced, unnecessary & Aggressive. When it happened I remembered it being a pivotal moment in my mind,
Looking back it doesn’t bother me as much anymore because I’ve grown to appreciate & still be able to enjoy JP3.
It was already bad enough the Spino killing the T rex the way it did 😅
Fast forward to date and the shocking thing is that they realised Spinosaurus was not built anything like it was in this movie. It had short limbs and was very aquatic. So it just goes to show that it was not the big bad super predator that made. T rex look weak as jack horner was so sure of.
I agree about Dino Crisis 2. You can't have Cooper AND the T-Rex death, haha
hey, there's the T-Rex hater, jack horner.
I always thought it would've been better if the 2 Dinos fought throughout the movie...
The T. rex wouldn’t have let go and that bite would have crushed the spino’s vertebrae, its airway, and cut off the blood circulation to the head.
in jurassic franchise the trexes bite force has been nerfed since the very beginning, since the first movie etc
usually no animals first bite is it’s killing blow, keep in mind the spino was still much denser than the rex and if you take into consideration the fight was before we knew so much more about both animals, it makes sense it played out the way it did with the help of plot
Spinosaur has a dark sense of humor...
Well this a cut scene that I want see in a Jurassic park 😂 God 🙏
This scene already stalled the franchise, that could have killed the brand
