Dilophosaurus. A beautiful but deadly addition to Jurassic Park. Its definitely a bit of a surprise how much the film staff changed the creature for the film. I get the reason, because it'd make the Raptors seem less threating in comparison, but it's still kind of a bummer. I'd REALLY like to see an accurate sized Dilophosaurus in Jurassic World media sometime, I know we came close to it in Jurassic World Regenesis before that was cancelled.
Raptors are slowly starting to get annoying. I mean, they're always the main focus (a major catalyst) in the movies (the T.Rex was also the main dinosaur to appear in jurassic park and the lost world, however, the spinosaurus took its spot in JP3, the I.Rex in jurassic world, and the indoraptor in the fallen kingdom (looking at screen time and importance for the story). The raptors, on the other hand, were always involved in the plot in a major way and it is becoming very repetitive to see the same small theropod over and over again (apart from the dilo and the compy, they're also the only small theropods that made an appearance in the movies) so if the next movie featured more screen time with a small theropod that isn't a raptor (e.g. the dilophosaurus, monolophosaurus, herrerasaurus, or troodon), it would at least change things up a bit.
Dilophosaurus was the second dinosaur to scare me as a kid once I gotten over the T. Rex and it has since become one of my favorite carnivores! It really gives _Jurassic Park_ a unique identity that sets it apart from most dinosaur stories. I am dying to see another in the _Jurassic World_ films, especially a fully-grown Dilophosaurus.
Man!! Youre very educated. I understand we are here for our love of jurassic park., nut if you decided to do just a dinosaur youtube channel, i wouldn't be mad at that
I'd like to see the dilophosaurus take some screen time away from Blue and from velociraptors period as I feel those animals have been done to death and should step aside and let other lesser known predators take the spotlight.
If you think about it, dilophosaurus could stand up to a raptor. If they grow ten feet tall like in the novel, it's not like blue can just pounce, knock it over and win. Especially with blinding spit, it might stand a chance (also, they can run as fast as velociraptors at 35 mph)
The sound the Dilophosaurus makes when it opens it's frill, actually sends shivers down my spine. It's like the Dinosaur from Hell! Truly, I am desperate to see a Dilo JW3, with seeing a Herrerasaur being a close second. Great video, by the way!

One of the earliest carnivores, we now know that Dilophosaurus is actually poisonous, spitting its venom at its prey, causing blindness and eventually paralysis, allowing the carnivore to eat at its leisure. This makes Dilophosaurus a beautiful, but deadly, addition to Jurassic Park.
As always, good video on a specific dinosaur profile. It's one of my faves from the franchise. A shame it only appears in Jurassic Park movie and book. I hoping to see it in JW3. As on the real life paleontology side, I didn't know there was a theory circulating with the dinosaur being related to Spinosauridae dinosaurs due to similar snout shapes. I have doubts about it though with the classification in order.
I could imagine the visceral impact of a twenty foot long Dilophosaur rattling its frill and uttering a deeper warning hiss in the 6th film. It would be startling and a real treat for the die hard fans.

I have a theory though I get that the visitors center on the map looks to be at the west end of the island but if we go back to the part in Jurassic Park when they start the tour program the monitor shows the the visitors center is actually almost in the middle and more north of the island very near what would be the restricted area which is why I always thought it was along with the extra footage of Zack and Greys trek through the jungle which shows they traveled a long way after the Indominus attack and I just noticed I commented on the new video instead of yesterday's video.
This dino is one of my favorites of the franchise. I got very excited when, in fallen kingdom, you get to hear Dilo hoots. I was sad to see that is was a misdirection for the t-rex. (Still a great scene though). I would love this dinosaur to make an appearance again.
The Dilo attacking Nedry inside the Jeep did have the dip in the front of the jawline. another indicator, aside from it being slightly larger, that the Dilo in the jeep is not the same as the dilo that spit on Nedry from the hillside.
@@snorlaxandarcaninecuddler9852 Lifes biggest questions had already stated the theory that there were two dilos. The one in the jeep was probably curious and got inside to investigate whilst the second one headed towards Nedry simply because she was curious about what he was doing, hence why it appeared docile towards Nedry when he was close to the tree he wrapped the cable around and attacked when Nedry was returning to the jeep (as she would see him as a threat to the other dilo). This theory would also mean that the dilophosaurus was the first carnivour that wasn't driven purely by thirst for blood since the first one attempted to scare Nedry away from the second dilo and the second dilo most likely entered a fight or flight situation after Nedry got back into the jeep (since the only escaped route that the dilo was aware of was blocked off, the fight kicked in).
@@Clovenstone-Blue I gotta say, dilophosaurus is really underrated in intelligence. The raptors weren't curious about the humans, they were just indifferent to them :
The dilos is my favorite, second only to velociraptors, in real life and in the movies. I have a dilo model that sits on my desk (among other things). He's clearly modeled after the JP animal, though without the frill. I keep hoping they bring it back into the movies, it is definitely underappreciated.
The sweet, beautiful, and most deadly dinosaur ever to be put on Jurassic Park :) When i saw this dino for the first time i was stun by the frills she had! I also have a funko pop of this Dino ^_^
These little guys need to come back and it would be a nice surprise if they were 20 feet long. If so it would be neat to see the classic smaller ones only for a larger one to emerge from the foliage with a threatening shriek.
As a child I used to be creeped out by this creature but have since grown a fascination to it. It definitely adds a flair to the original film and it would very much be appreciated by many fans that it had one more proper appearance in the next JW movie. While the hologram was great and all you just can't beat the tension brought about by a theropod that's not only bigger than a raptor but also spits venom at it's enemies.
I would love to see the Dilo make a come back. When I was a kid, the electronic Dilo was my first JP dinosaur toy and it was one of my favorite. Unfortunately, someone I thought was my friend stole it.
I would love to see a dilo show up again. I was really crossing my fingers that it would show up in fallen kingdom and kinda expected it to show with the sheer amount of merchandise it received. But, guess I'll have to wait 3 years to find out if it will ever show up again.
Dilo was one of the most amazing dinos I have ever seen. I also like the spin on it that jurassic park added and honestly it fits. Also I know games were not truly mentioned in this video but dino crisis 2 and the steam game "the isle" also had Dilo's in it. You should check out The Isle Klayton, the game has taken a turn to kind of follow jurassic park and it is really well done so far. (also many of the dino sounds are from jurassic park so the dinos sound legit)
I wish DNA lasted even a fraction that long.... Ohhh, the things we would know about so many different creatures! I don't know how else he could've set the story up, but I wish it were something actually plausible at all.. it still bothers me a little when I watch any of the JP movie and I have no idea why, lol. The video is awesome btw, the Dilophosaurus is my absolute fav dinosaur in Jurassic Park! Cheers, thanks!
In November, I got to travel from Maryland to Arizona with my fiance. Our very first stop after acquiring our rental car was the Phoenix Natural History Museum which sport outside its front doors a life-size bronze statue of the two crested lizard. I very much wish you could send photos in the comment section. It was absolutely beautiful and I was actually slightly emotional to see it in person. Call me sappy if you will, I have wanted to set foot on that animals old stomping grounds for years and I finally got to do it.
Dilophosaurus is one of my favorite theropods alongside T-Rex, Allosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and Spinosaurus. Nice video. I don't mean to be negative, but it kind of always annoyed me that the films seemed to tease Dilophosaurus or make brief cameos after the original masterpiece. So many missed opportunities to expand on the role of this iconic dinosaur. They've already used T-Rex and the raptors over and over in films, books, games, and toys. Dilo deserves the spotlight.
If you look closely at the shape of its teeth... you'll see it actually does have fossil accurate dip in the upper part of the mouth, it's just mostly hidden by the lips. 4:52

The dilos is my favorite, second only to velociraptors, in real life and in the movies. I have a dilo model that sits on my desk (among other things). He's clearly modeled after the JP animal, though without the frill. I keep hoping they bring it back into the movies, it is definitely underappreciated.
If Dilo bigger it would be my most favorite dinosaurs
I really hope to see these guys back on screen!!! I actually have a figure of a dilophosaurus with the frill!!!!!
The sweet, beautiful, and most deadly dinosaur ever to be put on Jurassic Park :)
When i saw this dino for the first time i was stun by the frills she had! I also have a funko pop of this Dino ^_^
I really want to see the Dilo again. One of my favorite dinosaurs.
This is my favorite dinosaur from the series. Especially the book version
I loved these in the first film
These little guys need to come back and it would be a nice surprise if they were 20 feet long.
If so it would be neat to see the classic smaller ones only for a larger one to emerge from the foliage with a threatening shriek.
As a child I used to be creeped out by this creature but have since grown a fascination to it. It definitely adds a flair to the original film and it would very much be appreciated by many fans that it had one more proper appearance in the next JW movie. While the hologram was great and all you just can't beat the tension brought about by a theropod that's not only bigger than a raptor but also spits venom at it's enemies.
Awwww, no heart? Come on, Klayton. 😔
Yes! We need more Dilos in the franchise 😊
More!!! A pack of them verses the film's star's. Go over the top bringing them back.😀
I would love to see the Dilo make a come back. When I was a kid, the electronic Dilo was my first JP dinosaur toy and it was one of my favorite. Unfortunately, someone I thought was my friend stole it.
All time favorite.
I love the Dilos! They're my favourite
didn't care much till u read the book, that scene is so haunting . hope we see the true size in the next jurassic installment
Dilo for life ✌️
I would love to see a dilo show up again. I was really crossing my fingers that it would show up in fallen kingdom and kinda expected it to show with the sheer amount of merchandise it received. But, guess I'll have to wait 3 years to find out if it will ever show up again.
The JP Dilo has the maxillary notch that is visible at 4:56. It is presumably covered by skin/lips during the animal's resting state.
My favourite right next to Velociraptor :)
They better bring it back in Jurassic World 3!
Not going to lie, the scene where it kills Nedry in the first novel has to be my favorite.
I want see the Dilo make a return in the next movie. This would would make for some scary night shots in the city.
Finally! I love the dilo. 😁
