  • SOLD! Congratulations and safe travels to the new owners.
    Photos, 360’s, layout drawings and descriptions are available at www.JMYS.com and Nordhavn60ForSale.com.
    Ginard is a 2013 model year, but had a transformative two plus year improvement period that was completed in 2022. The video highlights much of this detailed approach that was completed at the famous Philbrook’s Boatyard in Sidney, British Columbia.
    Some of the repair, replace, and improvement highlights are:
    Alexseal paint over the original blue gelcoat hull
    Extensive Maretron installation and programming
    Navigation and communication electronics replacements and upgrades
    Walker bay dinghy and Yamaha outboard
    Entertainment - stereo and televisions replaced.
    Peplink internet hardware
    Headliners, upholstery and carpeting
    Victron AGM Batteries and Victron Quattro inverters
    Major components rebuilt such as the Steel head crane, Tecma toilets, black water pumps, engine shaft seals, air-conditioning compressors, windlass, etc.
    Diamond Seaglaze doors and windows redone
    Imtra LED lighting throughout
    Integrating the swim platform into the hull
    Smart plug shore power connections including a new Glendinning cord
    And what you don’t see until you haul her - four layers of epoxy barrier coat and three coats of bottom paint along with prop speed on the running gear and (4) Lumishore underwater lights.
    Ginard spent well over two years and untold dollars to meet the owners objective which was to completely refresh her to enjoy 10 years of trouble free cruising.

    As always a fantastic tour by Jeff Merrill....it's more of an exploration than a sales tour...really fab for us Trawler Yacht nuts. And as always there are things I like and things I don't like ...Nordhavn, Fleming, Kadey Krogen....they are all so similar and yet different in subtle ways. Nordhavn always seem to be very good below decks...the engineering spaces always seem to be very clean and logical. I like this 'old style' high lustre gloss woodwork of the interior....it's old fashioned but very luxurious. The pilot house looks like the console of the space shuttle!! There is a lot of boat here. Amazing tour Jeff! I've been researching trawler yachts for 23 years and I never get bored of seeing them.

    • @JeffMerrillYachts
      @JeffMerrillYachts  Рік тому

      Dan: The forward cabin arrangement was a special request for the original owners children. When you order new you can arrange the layout for your purposes. It's actually efficient and comfortable, the captain's cabin has a double bunk that will sleep two. She is a beauty, thank you for watching.

  • @SilverJackLeg
    @SilverJackLeg Рік тому +1

    I really like how the captain's cabin has been solved. Decent and right location. I hate it when it is assumed that the captain is a Hobbit, who has to be squeezed into lazarette somehow. I don't like the access to that stateroom through the master bedroom (presume it was owner's wish), but otherwise beautiful boat.

    • @JeffMerrillYachts
      @JeffMerrillYachts  Рік тому

      Silver: Nordhavn did a great job with this design and the pilothouse layout including a day head and Captain's cabin is one of the highlights. The lower level flow from stern to bow is really convenient. At night time, you close off the aft owner door and then the guests get to their sleeping accommodations from the pilothouse stairs. So, very open during the day, block off privacy of rooms for night.

    When you are in long range cruise mode what is you speed and what is your fuel burn per hour? When it gives a range does that take into consideration generator operations or is that just for main engine? Love your videos

    • @JeffMerrillYachts
      @JeffMerrillYachts  Рік тому +1

      Linda: In our specifications on JMYS.com we say cruise is 8.25 knots with a range of 3,000 miles. I don't have the actual fuel consumption at that speed, it's an estimate based on real world experience. Normally range is calculated for main engine run time without factoring in generator (.5 gal/hour estimate). If you slow to 8 knots or less you would increase your range. Each owner needs to do their own measurements once the vessel is ready/configured/loaded for a long trip - we suggest creating a speed/burn/range sheet to show real performance at 100 RPM increments. Thank you for watching our videos. Happy to go into more detail via direct email Jeff@JMYS.com

      Linda: Until you run a real world performance test it's a bit of a guessing game, but you can't be guessing when you set out on a long trip so with the boat configured and provisioned you have to do the rpm calculations. On most long trips you go very slow (in this case say, 6 knots) with the goal to reach the half way point with fuel in abundance so you can pick up speed (and will be running lighter) to arrive at your destination with a minimum of 10% in reserve.

In my experience, many Tsunami's are very minor wave heights, but generate incredibly powerful surge. Ginard is a very robust boat, should last through almost any natural event and come through fine. One reason people buy Nordhavns is because they are so well built, with redundant systems and are incredibly reliable. An advantage of a trawler built for ocean crossing. We filmed on a sunny San Francisco day. Ginard is more than capable of operating in all conditions including stormy weather.
