    This custom configuration is amazing! It's way better and practical than the standard layout that comes along with the normal N60's. Time to circumnavigate the globe. 😊

    Thanks for the tour. I had noticed the lack of a cockpit staircase and thought it a great idea, but I didn't notice the removed staircase in the pilothouse. Your Dad did a really great job with the planning of all these great changes. Enjoy your time on Encore, it's is truly an adventure of a lifetime. Looking forward to more great videos!!

      Ah yes the removal of the staircase in the pilot house is major for helm space which is always nice :) the cockpit stair removal gave us room for a second tender. Remove all the stair cases! Lol not really but I am glad to have you along for the adventure, so happy to hear you are enjoying the videos :)

    Love the custom touches and layouts, Mike the Engineer shines through.
    The removing of the outside stairs and the overlapping of the internal stairs is brilliant.
    Also like that the two main staterooms are accessed from the same floor.
    I've never understood why Nordhavn makes such big heads on their regular designs, your layout is ever so much more practical.
    The addition of a shower to the Captains cabin is another brilliant touch.

    • @adventures

    Recently I have watched boat reviews in the 50+ range and all were equipped with dual high HP motors and I couldn't wrap my head around the high cost of fuel consumption. I realize your boat is intended for long-range cruising and from videos of cruising on the open seas, what good is all that power when you're speed is limited to trawler speed anyway? Would that be around 8 to 10 knots? At 10 knots how much fuel do you burn per hour? Thank you for the comprehensive tour of your beautiful boat and it was good to see your happy dog again. Looking forward to following your adventures in future videos.

    • @adventures
      @adventures  2 роки тому +1

      This boat has very small engines so I’m not sure what boat reviews you were watching. But encore has a 325hp and a 150hp I believe or something very close to that. Wide open we can maybe hit 11 knots and we travel at around 7 knots

    • @JohnS916
      @JohnS916 2 роки тому +1

      OK, thanks for the clarification on your power plant. In my opinion, your set up is ideal for both economy cruising and by having the smaller second engine, something to get you to port if your main engine breaks down.

    • @adventures
      @adventures  3 роки тому +1

      We run the wing engine every time we turn on the boat because we use the wing engine to run our hydraulic pumps. The engines and generators get serviced(oil changes and filters) at different times, but I believe it’s about every 500 hours or every 6 months. Whichever comes first. There is probably some other servicing as well, but that is the main servicing it requires as well as checking coolant and oil levels before each use

    Wow Wow Wow, what a great tour on such a great boat, I can picture that ship out to sea in some huge waves and she'll take it all in stride! So when you purchase a boat of such magnitude did you previously own a boat, and what is the learning curve like as there so many systems to learn? Also was that a Nordhavn docked on your starboard side? Well thanks for the tour and Cammo makes the boat all the more special!

      You are very welcome I’m glad you enjoyed the tour! We usually burn about 6 gallons an hour while traveling at 7.5 knots. The cruising range is about 3,000 miles but we would probably slow down a little bit to hit that range

      Yes he did I agree! And so glad you enjoyed the tour. The 3 of us were the full time crew and captains. My dad was the official caption but we all took turns driving the boat and all helped to maintain it. It all depends on prior boating experience. My dad had had boats for years that have all progressively gotten larger so he didn’t have to have any formal training or certification. His boating experience was enough to insure the boat

    Great layout, the alterations you have made are all sensible with obvious advantages - I especially love the extra room in the pilothouse that's a huge difference.
    I am curious to know how long it took for Nordhavn to make the alterations.
    Stay safe and keep having fun.

    • @adventures
      @adventures  3 роки тому +1

      I agree the pilot house is one of the areas where a ton of space is added thanks to the reconfiguration, such a big difference! It took 2 years to build and ship the boat. My dad knew all changes he wanted to make before the building process began so that didn’t add too much time to the traditional building time

    Thanks for the tour!

    • @adventures

      Typically you cannot set thrusters to a position where they just stay, I’m sure more boats will be adding ones like these in the future but it is an awesome feature

    I've watched quite a few yacht tours and this one certainly had the personal touch. I think Natalie and her Dad did an outstanding job detailing the features of their boat, Natalie not only understood the functions of the many mechanical parts, she presented in a warm and engaging style. She was also very attractive! This review/tour is right at the top for quality and content of any similar tours I have watched. Very nice people too and I could tell they loved their cute dog and that tells me a lot about their personalities. I got a kick out of him because he owned the boat and was very happy and showed it by wagging his cool tail all the time. One thing I gleaned from the tour was the importance of storage space on a boat, I guess you can't have too much storage.
    One question about the powerplant. Is there only one primary propulsion engine rated at 325HP? I know it has the smaller engine as a back up, but I would think a standard setup would be two main engines with much more HP? It didn't seem like having just 325HP is enough to push this large boat through rougher water. Thanks for your time and sail safe where ever you go.

    • @adventures
      @adventures  3 роки тому +1

      We are so glad you enjoyed the tour!! We had fun putting it together and really wanted to cover all of the practicality of the boat, not just the specs!
      And it is crazy but yes it really does just have that one small engine pushing this big boat! We cruise slow, at about 7 knots and the single engine is actually more fuel efficient than the twin engine models. Some of the Nordhavns have twin engines but most are single engine. That’s how they are able to cross oceans so efficiently:)
