Great update, John. Love the look and fitment of your 88 gun, that's a great piece of detail to your superb tanks. I hope for a King Tiger release one day, perhaps some shells from you will be in order...next time you are casting your resin 88 shells make a video, I'd love to see that process.
You are a perfectionist & this vid is excellent, I instantly subscribed to your channel! I make 1/16 scale models, all WW2 - currently working on an M7 Priest!
In my country I would be arrested for having them. I was travelling from UK recently and had issues with security and customs in UK. Said I was a security threat. If I had the tiger it would have been more difficult to explain with it's breech and dummy rounds.
To start with you need to get a kit. You can get by with basic tools. Hood bargains available on the second hand market. Have s look at the forum on Armortek.co.uk Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel and watch my other videos.
At 3:15... I'm sorry but those interior fittings are copied from an Early Tiger (surely the famous "131"). This magnificent model represents a Late Tiger on the outside, so the real turret insides would be very different.
I have different fittings in the late tigers compared to those I am fitting to the early Tiger. They reflect some changes made with the introduction of the 40mm roof and low profile cupola. Possibly more accurate for mid production. The interior was fitted about 14 years ago so probably more information out there now. But anyway who knows what was in every vehicle built. I had some interior drawing from a website but site changed in the meantime.
@@16rctankworkshop-yv8kl The low profile cupola was one of the features of the "new turret" of August 1943. The roof of this turret was still 25mm. The internal layout was much changed but still had much the same number of boxes etc. on the walls. We have complete information about this "new" layout, and even some photos. In about October 1943 there was a move to simplify the manufacture of tanks. Most items were taken off the walls of the turret and redistributed, often in simpler containers. The "late" Tiger in a museum in France is a good example of how this played out. The 40mm roof came later, early in 1944, and is not associated with significant internal changes.
@@geoffmcconville5410 I am on the Armortek forum. Just look at the craftsmans market on the forum. That great that you are close by. We need more models here. It would be great to arrange a meet. Get those boxes opened and start work on your tiger.😀
