John deafly wouldn’t open it anyway as you said a months time anyway in your video. As another UA-cam follow I follow she got done exactly the same way. What it is is you put a giveaway or you can win this prize in your title is scams for that that’s all she found out. She was told never put you can win a prize in your title of a UA-cam video and reason white people also look for that to get a freebie. She now is going to just put out a normal video and if someone clicks on it they are lucky enough they might win a prize. And she said that he’s a true follower then, Bit like me wait to John McGrath pops up in my notifications on UA-cam‘s but doesn’t seem to be that many popping up lately you must be still busy sir

Seperatly, any advice for a woodwork vise on a MFT table like yours ? My workshop is small so only have the large MFT table as my only bench. Trying to figure out how to add a vise .....

I would love to get this sharpening kit, but I live in the US. I just shipped a few hand tools to my grandson along with some sharpening kit including my hard Arkansas surgical stone.
Reckon I'll have to go back to the Scary Sharp™ system using sandpaper.

Hi John, good to see someone take the mystique out of sharpening and mention that strops are perfect to for keeping tools sharp - for a while anyway. Barbers stropped their cut throat razors for a reason.

North America here - oh well - BUT... I have the 185 / 600 (extra course / fine) stone and BOY does that stone cut metal! - you can quickly and easily regrind a primary bevel on any tool in minutes by hand on the extra course. I start there when reconditioning old antique shop planes that need a lot of help. Used to start with 80 grip paper...not any more! I still need to get the 300/1000 stone ( for now I use sand paper above the 600 ... which seems very close to an 800 wet/dry sand paper in cutting, but that's my next step anyway).
Oh, the extra course is also great for flattening any water stones you might have - couple of swipes and done and done (remember to clean the plate before you start flattening fine stones or you pollute the fine stone with course bits - flatten from the finest stone DOWN to coarsest - polluting a courser stone with finer grit is not a problem, the pollution will rinse out with use.
The strop is the way to go. I do use a honing guide and since I was being foolish in the shop one night I made a strop which spans and locks down to the tablesaw top. So I've got a 27" long strop .... but toss that blade in the guide on their and just a couple of passes and you need sunglasses to keep from going blind. As you said/showed nothing beats a sharp plane iron for finish on wood.

Nice Review! I want the kit. Rob Cosman always recommends the trend 1000/300 in comparison with a shapton glass and by the price of it I always shunned away. Winning this kit makes it obsolete to buy it for me :)

Looks a really nice kit, and I could certainly use it. BTW have you tried Glen Scotia (from Campbeltown) with your Whisky Shed hat on?
If I'm correct in thinking that your strop has compound which is flaking off them I iz horrified, the best way to prep a leather strop is to use WD40, if it's a new strop once is enough otherwise keep repeating until you see the natural leather colour, usually 2 or 3 times. Use a hair dryer on the strop to remove previous compound or just do it anyway before adding compound on the cleaned strop as it will help loosen the wax/compound to almost liquid, I usually melt it and drip it on to leather. Now without delay start stropping with kitchen knife until you see the surface has an even spread and a smooth and shiny appearance. Now that strop is ready to turn your bread knife in to a surgeons scalpel. I prefer the green wax but blue or any will be okay. The WD40 I believe acts as a lubricant for the leather preventing it from cracking and drying and I have tried hundreds of other products but they do not compare to WD40 also I believe it helps the compound adhere to the leather surface. If I could I would show you pictures of my shiny surface on leather strop but UA-cam not allow.
I can jump from a 180 grit diamond plate using a virgin edge and finish stropping on green compound and it's all good to shave your hair and it only takes 15 minutes on new blade and only 7 mins to re-sharpen an edge.

That's for sure. Really good to see your back to full fitness now and making more video's for your channel 👍. I purchased a diamond 💎 stone from ebay a while back and when opening the package I accidentally dropped it and it smashed into about 7 pieces which really surprised me as I thought it would be loads stronger than it was now I've nochance of putting it to use as doing so I'd cause more damage to myself and any chisels I have. This would be one of those item's worth it's weight in gold in my opinion to say the least. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
