I was thinking the exact same thing. You couldn't give me any Nissan (and I used to be a huge Datsun and Nissan fan back when they actually looked good) however I never miss a Brian Cooley review- he is awesome!
One important thing to note about that gas mileage: it will only do the numbers it claims on the highway if you go between 55-65 mph. Unfortunately the limit in the interstates near me are all 75 mph, and at that speed or above you'll be doing around 32 mpg without any passengers. That engine is so small that small changes in speed and weight put a lot more stress on it, so it performs noticeably worse. A bigger engine wouldn't have that much dip in fuel economy.
***** Not bullshit. I don't drive below the speed limit, and I would suspect most other people don't either unless they were strictly doing an economy run :) Also if you were driving at 70 on I15 north everyone and their mothers probably overtook you, which made you quite a road hazard.
***** Funny you called me an idiot because you failed to read I15 correctly. I never said I115 lol. Also funny is that you just told a mechanical engineer that he doesn't know how a car and a CVT works. lol. For reference, I drive a 2012 BMW 328i with a 8 speed auto and can easily get 37-40 mpg from it (EPA rates it at 34 highway). The CVT paired with that dinky little motor is the problem. It means that to get any kind of decent acceleration the car ends up revving the nuts out of that engine. It's especially worse on an incline, because it revs high just to maintain a set speed. But anyway, go ahead and keep insulting me. It's pretty entertaining.
I love my 2014 sentra sv with drivers package and navigation and got all that for under 18000. has great gas milage getting over 40mpg. plenty of room for the family and a large trunk,, quite ride and great lines of sight... everything is very easy to use....
+tigertom53 i loved mine too.............until a part fell off the engine and the CVT transmission quit at the same time. Nissan would not warranty the part that fell off, because that was left on the freeway somewhere. The transmission got replaced, but only after they fixed the part, then discovered that I was correct and the transmission went out too. They only reimbursed my rental care expenses when they found the transmission went out too. overall, a horrible experience and it seems a pretty common one on their CVT transmissions I found out. I was blamed for removing the part that fell off, which I hadn't touched the part. It left my family, with 3 grandkids under 4 years old stranded in escondido CA at night. I will NEVER purchase another Nissan product again and told Mossy Nissan and Nissan North America that i wouldn't. I also own a Pathfinder that I love, but now am just waiting for it to break down.
Drivetrain is a big disappointment. Last gen had a 2.0 Liter engine, this one has a 1.8 Liter engine just for the sake of fuel economy. The Altima CVT for the 2.5 Liter engine does fit the 2.0 Liter engine, which would make it more horsepower and still similar fuel economy.
Hey cooley you are gona have to regain me respect and admiration after your abomination of the G-class....i'll sit here quietly while you drool on about your pedantic reviews. BTW what do you drive? I have a 02 G35 with 260k, a 94 Supra with 160k and a 02 323 ci with 130k. speak up
Might as well get myself two shitty Hyundai Accents and a smartphone for navigation. Fake plastiwood? Backup camera is useless. Could care less if I scratch the bumper on this thing. What a piece of junk. Wake the f up Nissan. Don't spend so much time on the GTR - half of us can't afford it.
Finally ,a professional who knows how to keep your attention. Very well done.

Another solid review Cooley! You are the ONLY UA-cam car reviewer that truly tells it how it is!
I was thinking the exact same thing.

Nobody does car reviews as good a this guy.... another great job.
It no longer looks like an economy car. It's bigger and looks more luxurious. Looks like it should be priced much higher.
It isn't even a sentra to begin with. It's a rebadged nissan sylphy.
***** They're the same car essentially, just named differently in certain markets. e.g. Ford Escape in NA, Ford Kuga in EU
Apparently the trickle down effect from Infiniti stopped dead before so much as a drop landed on the Versa sedan...
He is wrong, manual transmission is also available on the entry-level S model (I own one:)
Most countries don't get it though.
Love this channel! Cooley's reviews are fantastic!
I think this is the first time being reviewed i hear good things about it
Wrong on the sport mode. It gives you a noticeable push.
Nope
rottenrowdie hell no
it does..
yeap it does, i have a 6-speed 2013 Sentra, and when i put it in Sport mode, it's a lot more nervous i can tell ya.
Has a 2012 Nissan Sentra 6 speed manual, 2.0 S.

Lolololololololololol
I am happy to finally to see a review of this... I was wondering what Cooley's opinion was of the new sentra
This should just be renamed Cooley on Cars
Good everyday car. My girl is looking into buying one.
I love my 2013 Sentra :)
bombshell0517 have you had problems with the transmission?
another great review from cnettv, thanks for uploading. I like your unbiased review. Really tell it like it is.
Anyone here 2023??
Awesome review. Question is the SE-R and SE-R spec V trim levels still made? Or we're they cut from the line up
Is that an ignition plug?!?!? Nissan couldn't make another steering column shroud?
Why is this not in the UK?!
I know what they are, I'm just confused as to why every Sentra I see has them turned off, as in, they're not running.
Car makers, stop putting wood in cheap cars. It looks like shit.
Braulio R. and that fake chrome too lol

Every single Sentra I see on the road (which is a lot), all have they're LED's turned off...Not sure how or why that is...
I prefer to have an option in transmissions, I prefer the manual shift/ stick shift.
Cooley your are "the" best, either you review a veyron or a simple sentra
Thats the Daytime running lights, its on most new cars these days.
18" wheels and tires fit?
Cooley should host Top Gear America. Has he never appeared on the BBC version?
I have a older Nissan Altima 07 , I wanted to get a 2013 one maybe review? Idk >.
They were cut out its just the S, SV, SL
so many car tech vids this week 8)
Good review & great Sentra.
It's called CAR TECH for a reason
HA! In a sentra? How about a twin turbo yugo?
Shift points on a CVT?
parodyislandpictures simulated gears
you feel like you stole some tech legally ...............haha very COOLEY
hey good call that's the car I drive but only I drive the type-s model. amazing car.
I want to see a nismo
It needs a Spec R version with a 2.0 Turbo...
It's a commuter car. Taking any decent corner in this thing at speeds over 35 mph won't exactly instill confidence.

Very good video and presenter
Same engine as my 1994 Nissan Sentra
This better than Toyota corolla
Stole the tech legally, but at the end of the day are you going to be happy with it? From what it sounds like, not so much.
$650 for all that? I wish more car maker would price their navi package like that lol.
cooley coove from enemy at the gates !!!
What happened to Nissan engineers? Did they all move to South Korea??? Although better looking than the Versa it still screams BUDGET!
Navigation is horrible and slow but for only $650 I guess it's okay
Kevin Ventura pretty low price for nissan lol they normally charge high
cooley is the man!
love nissan!
Y would any1 get this over a focus, civic or the mighty unbreakable corolla.
Am I the only one that can't hear anything...?
Agreed. It should be optional.
Maxima looks way diiferent.
$23,000 not bad.
Looks like small old Lexus is
trading in my is250 for this sentra!
Stopped watching the video after seeing the dated navigation cluster & it's limited functions.
Well you'd be downgrading.
I would rather buy a used 2013 Honda Accord with CVT for $20,000
Tired of Nissan's percentage reduction design.
not bad, just a commuter car though
Goodbye corolla
I love it I love I love!
YUCK $20,000 plus for a sentra!!!! I rather use that $20,000 and buy a used car like a 2008 acura tl ot something actually good
this is a shrinked down maxima.........
for this money i would pleasurably buy a Kia Optima LX ... or add a buck and get da EX !!!
True, however, if you willing to pay more money lolz
BMW for me
that was 2 words
just get the civic and u will be happier!
My 2002 Lexus would beat that car any day
P.O.I interface? Isn't that the catholics?
The sentra driving experience is horrible.even the sr version is bad.body roll is awful and this car has alot of it
Crap, my 15 year old audi a4 would nail that car xD
No
Definitelt better than its predecessor, the old one was such and ugly ass car!
Turn your hearing aid up.....
Shit id say even the dam dart is better than tht crap
talk about bad driving....
weak engine. Needs a twin turbo.

Slower Then Hell !!
gil zur it's not a sports car mind you, it is very practical for business trips, everyday commutes, not so much for speed.
That is probably the ugliest car I have seen in a while... lolol
STOP REVIEWING JUST THE NAV/ SCREEN THE WHOLE VID
The worst car on the market !
para que sientas lo que sientes....
Carlos Calderon tu mama sabe lo que se siente !
ING. ZV Todo esto empezo solo por una opinion de un carro...
ING. ZV cvt incorporated lol
weak engine. Needs a twin turbo.
