- Physically and mentally drained after that! Crazy conditions out there today, congrats to all that finished! 🏅
🏊- Faster than last year by a few minutes, felt good getting onto the bike!
🚴- Horrific conditions from start to finish, high winds and downpours! Didn’t help that my GPS went bust due to the rain so was riding to how my body felt, tad slower than last year but expected in the conditions 🌧️💨
🏃🏻- Faster than last year, felt comfortable and just wanted to finish well, nothing to fast but felt good holding 4:55per KM 👌🏻
Finishing time of 5:18:49, 17th in Age Group🏁
Thanks to everyone who came out and shouted support, it really helped today 🤍

Great video Lewis! Summed up the day really well! The first part of the bike was pretty cold. My wife and I appreciated how the transitions were in the same place so it was easier for spectators and kit drop off compared to Staffordshire.

Yeah definitely got chilly at the start, saw some of the pros wearing latex gloves 🧤😂
Transition was great except for the floor! It was meant to be closer to the swim start but I can see why it’s where it is, I did see staffs is very odd.
Congrats sir - it was my first 70.3 on Sunday and I watched your videos from last year in preparation. Glad to hear you've done well. It was pretty brtual for a first half IM especially with the rain and wind - glad to have finished in just over 6 hours, will try for sub 6 next year. Keep the videos coming!

I took part in Swansea this year It was my first Ironman I must say the hills did catch me out on the bike a bit seemed like it was going up and up 😂

Hi Lewis thanks for the video, a good insight into the event. I am planning on doing this next year ( 2025 ) is this the best bike setup for the course, do you think it’s a road bike course or TT, I know it’s down to the individual but your input would be helpful. Thanks
@@martincarter2505 hey! Now that I have a TT bike…it’s certainly quicker on a TT bike, and last years course was much faster and suited to a TT bike!

People getting dq'd for blocking motors they couldn't hear/get out way off?!
Unfortunately that’s a lot of talk and I know one person who got DQ’d because of it where I know he’s not like that. I also know one person got a penalty when they shouldn’t have.
The motorcycle marshals weren’t the best if I’m honest, and the one that got in my way didn’t really seem to care.
