Okay, I didn't expect this Mortal Kombat journey to go that far, but I'm loving it.
Same I like their vibe 🤠
They seem to really enjoy the lore. Wondering if they are going to do MK1 when it comes out.

The major characters of MK11 Aftermath (Sheeva, Fujin, Nightwolf, Sindel, etc) hadn't been released or even revealed at the time of this video, so that's why Ed didn't talk about them here.
He didn't mention 2 interesting points about Scorpion and Sub Zero, but Ed Boon is still to this day the guy the does the famous "Get over here!" voice for Scorpion and has been ever since the OG game. Also, Sub Zero is the only MK character to appear in EVERY Mk game (As long as you count Bi-Han and Kuai Liang together). Scorpion actually was not in Mortal Kombat 3 but did return to the series in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
Sub Zero however is still the ONLY character to appear in every game because he got his own game called "Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero". Where he is the sole protagonist (Bi-Han, the original Sub Zero)
Yup Sub-Zero has been in every single game...

Regarding the violence within MK, Ed has already explained in interviews that there is a kind of "committee" within the NRS that gives several ideas for Fatalities sends the storyboards to Ed Boon and he basically "filters" and approves, asks for adjustments or disapproves and he said he already rejected ideas for being too violent
Ed Boon even thought Noob’s “make a wish” fatality crossed the line
Funny. When you reacted to MK1 trailer, I thought why bother? It seemed like you both were a bit indifferent about it compared to those of us that are huge fans (me for at least 2 decades, almost 3). But damn, you guys went deep since then into the history and I have loved every moment of it. Thanks for doing this and I really enjoyed the journey with you both.
There was a theory when Erron was first introduced that he was Sonya Blades dad that went missing. It would explain his Earthrealm origin and provide him with cooler connections than Kotals mercenary.
This was great. There really is a lot of story in Mortal Kombat.

I second this, but I feel like we're going to have to wait for them to watch MK vs DC before the requests for Injustice 1, and 2 finally catch their attention.

3:42 From what I remember, they had a crush on each other in the original games. However, it was short lived because Johnny Cage died in MK2. He came back to life in MK4, but they lost interest with one another. In the new timeline, Raiden saved Johnny Cage, which is why they were able to explore it now
Actually, he came back to life in Mortal Kombat Trilogy: "Killed in battle with an Outworld extermination squad, Johnny Cage's life came to a tragic end. But the celluloid superstar manages to cheat death when his path to the after life is blocked by the merger of Earth and Outworld. His soul takes possession of his body once again and enables Cage to rejoin his friends to battle for Earth's survival."
@@SuperErmacX He was then sent to heaven since the merger wasn’t there anymore upon Shao Kahn’s defeat, he came back in MK4 because of Raiden though.
I remember they killed Cage because the actor who played him promoted one of the many terrible Mortal Kombat "klones" coming out in the mid 90s WHILE IN CHARACTER as Johnny Cage.

I would totally love to see your guys' reaction to the Injustice and Injustice 2 full stories. If you loved the MK games, those are on the same level of quality in my opinion and from the same developers.
The first Injustice game has a better story imo. It could've just totally been a DC Multiverse story as a standalone comic or movie as it involves the counterparts from the prime DC continuity. The second game however, even though the gameplay is very much improved and has cooler supermoves, the story itself is very contrived and a lot of the characters (mostly Batman) act very "out of character" and make very stupid decisions for the sake of the plot. It's a good game but the story could've been way better.
Okay, I really love that you two are digging so deep into the MK universe. It's so cool. When you have gone this far, why don't you check out the fatalities from MK11. What you watched from this video is just a piece of that
If you like this video, the 3D era MK games have really cool documentaries and interviews that were included with them and you can probably find them online. You might enjoy those.

As far as I know, many MK channels react to fatalities performed on D'Vorah, because of her blue blood UA-cam had no problem with that.. but I don't know if that's the case any more
Been enjoying Their MK content. With the new game coming out in 3 months give or take. This has been a nice review of the past few games.
Jabs you can definitely see a version of fatalities and brutality with like being dvorah in it that makes it more yt friendly to watch because it got like blue blood instead of red ...

I’ve been enjoying their reactions to the mortal kombat videos.
Hopefully, they also react to Injustice 1 & 2 the same way they reacted to the Mortal Kombat Series.
As an 80s snd 90s kid i am not surprised MK is back again being an iconic franchise even then but i was a little surprised to see how *big* MK has got now easily on par with SF If not more popular worldwide at this point. MK has factually sold the most home units for any fighting game with a whopping 73 million units sold to date! He didnt speak about some of the DLC like Fujin, Rain, Sheeva etc since at this point in time he didnt want to ruin anything.
The Nintendo controversy it was MK 1 that was censored with sweat and as a result Nintendo lost sales to Sega due ot the secret blood code however onceMK 2 hit Nintendo said "screw that let's go all out" had all the gore and blood and outsold the Sega version since mk 2 for snes was better in every way.
OK so not sure if you mentioned it in this one or the last one bc I watched them both yesterday but I came back to say when you mentioned your brother did a reaction to the fatalities I thought "he looks kinda similar to Greg alba I watched that if it is, but it's probably a coincidence" I just looked it up and yeah turns out I've already been subscribed to your brother before I subscribed to you not even knowing!

As for the violent nature, I've always heard that D'vorah's blue blood made it more "UA-cam friendly," but I heard it so long ago from a surely un-reputable source that I wouldn't trust it blindly.
Ive seen people just grey out the scenes for some of the more violent stuff in their MK let's plays and that seems to have worked

I think most of us asking for the fatalities has seen them so we are fine with the censored version, we want to see your reactions so to it, this vid shows some of the fatalities and I loved seeing the reactions to them so please post a censored version! Also you guys should also watch Ed Boon go over the friendships as well which is the opposite of fatalities.
Would also love to see your guys react to the X-rays and fatal moves (what x rays are called in 11) as well

Mk9 came out in 2011. You can also do fatality reactions by using a character with different color blood. Like reptile, dvorah, the robots. Also this vid came out before the dlc. Sheeva was a dlc

I mean, I would argue that more than any other characters, a Mortal Kombat game is only a Mortal Kombat game if it has Sub Zero and Scorpion. They're definitely the 2 most popular

Scarlet's blood bathing was controversial not because of gruesomeness nor realism. It was too hot.

I think point Ed boon meant cross the line on skarlet mk9 fatalities is because she was performing and killing then Inna bath blood that an evil queen did to her civilians. Randomly pick a pretty girl invite her to the castle family's thing bring great to ofrtune but turns out the queen was going to tie that person on top of a floor and a bath will be place for the queen to take a bath while she has a axe slowly cutting the Victime while she tie up there slowlingly like a shower of blood when your bath and music of there scream that technically was skarlet fatalities in mk 9 seems to be base on a little too on something that happen in the dark age. Also because skarlet bath in blood makes her stronger. Also because skarlet mk9 fatality technically like mention tied up in upper floor and she start gut them and while she bath her OPPONENT blood the victim technically still alive screaming.
Maybe watch the launch trailer for the music, as well as the friendships for mk11

I notice how Shao Kahn is probably based on Asian culture and Jotal Kahn is Mesoamerican, but both cultures actually has a word "kahn" to refer to some form of hierarchy.
It was a missed opportunity when Shang Tsung's transformations didn't have skins based on other characters.

Frankly I don't care much for reactions to the finishers and all that. I'm a really old fan, and honestly, I've seen so much that I just don't get anything out of it anymore. You guys do what you do.
Violence is a big part of MK's identity, but once you get enough of it, there's a whole universe to explore with characters whose stories intertwine into a fantastic narrative.
Anyway, I'm psyched for those animated movie reactions and I'm happy you're so invested in the world and story of Mortal Kombat!

I's say that... because you guys are invested in the Lore, and some characters from the Original timeline will return in MK1 ... You guys Should get Familiar with the original timeline (which in my opinion is Superior to the NRS era) ... I suggest you guys to use the Komplete Story of MK in the MKTemple channel
The original timeline is superior in almost every way, the NRS has the same issue that the majority of fighting games "story modes" have (?
@@TheGodGemini credit where is due... their story mode still tells a cohesive story involving the characters while putting them in scenarios and showing their movitivations, which is still Levels above the competition (Kof and tekken follow, but Kof is too over centralized and Tekken jumped the shark on T6) ... even if there are improvement areas

If you want and see if you can cheat the system of the fatalities you should look for all fatalities on characters with no red blood. I think it won’t count as long as the blood isn’t red.

If they reacted to dvorah getting fatalitied they wouldn’t have to, but UA-cam detects gore from mkx onward pretty well and will demonetize them
I don’t think you need to censor it. I’ve seen people change the blood colors/do other things that doesn’t involve blurring it
Animalities were from Mortal Kombat 3, but yeah in MK2 one of Liu Kang's finishers was literally turning into the Mortal Kombat dragon and eating the opponent's torso. For some reason, Liu Kang's animality in MK3... wasn't turning into a dragon. Almost as silly as the fact Scorpion's animality was turning into a PENGUIN that laid an explosive egg that BLEW UP THE OPPONENT. MK3 was, for this reason and many more, a game that people saw as a disappointment to MK2.
