Lloyd, your channel helped me to become brave enough to question my indoctrination when I was pregnant with my first child and a few years later I shared your channel with my sister and she also shed the JW belief system. I'm so sorry you have to go through all this crap, Lloyd. Back when I started working on de-brainwashing myself, I found the "famous" ex-JW forum and spent some time on there. I was actually somewhat appauled at how many of the ex-jws on that forum treated newcomers who were either genuine JWs or those who were doubting. I eventually left the forum due to it's leader and some of the awful ex-JWs on there. Finding your youtube channel was a breath of fresh air. I thought, "Finally! An Ex-JW who can set a good example of how to treat other JWs and doubters!" You've paved a worthy path on helping people out of the cult. Regardless of what others say, you've done excellent work and I hope one day that I can shake your hand and thank you. At the very least, I would welcome an on-camera interview on my experience (perhaps when my JW mother passes in the somewhat near future). There's lots I'd love to write, but I don't need to be filling this comment box. All I can do is wish you the best on your future endeavors. And to those who wish to continue harassing Lloyd, my promiscuous past would probably make Lloyd look like a saint, so feel free to harass me instead :)
Lloyd, I have been a patron of yours for some time now simply because I am motivated to show you my appreciation for the videos (is that old fashioned terminology 😂) that you have made that have helped me to finally face the fact that I was raised in a cult. It’s not just the information that you have presented but the way you present it, the way you reason about each subject; it sits right with me and I really appreciate the effort you, Deanna and Tibor have put into your channel over so many years. I really cringed watching the footage of the Lloyd haters. Directing such venom at another person is just awful. I left the JWorg about 6 years ago and I frequently watched videos from many other activists, but it was you that helped me the most by far. I don't even know if I would still be alive if not for you and your channel. I have always loved the fair, honest and balanced way that you presented the information, as a opposed to those who were crude or angry in their delivery of information. You gained my trust and respect from the first time I saw your videos. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done, and I am so saddened and dismayed that people would waste their time on attacking a fellow ex-JW rather than focusing on the real culprit which is the JW cult that has wrecked so much havoc in their lives. Very nice sentiments. Just to throw in two cents on "why", I think it's all just part of being damaged, angry, disillusioned, and if shunned, still very much in pain. Then, once you add into the mix the competition of clicks and likes, things just go haywire and a LOT of these channels are only existing to whine and complain from their cars. They're not doing research and trying educate on anything. Just dismiss them. That someone is an exJW just isn't enough of a common ground to overcome so many personalities and motivations.

Lloyd, your channel was the first i came across when i was questioning what i was learning/being told during my "bible" study. I admit I was disappointed when the proverbial hit but as far as I'm concerned your private life is nothing to do with me or anyone else. It doesn't affect the value of the information you provide. I have continued to watch and always found the content interesting, helpful and very informative. It has been instrumental in my decision to stop my study.....i just have to figure out how to tell my fleshy sister who's been a JW for almost 40 years. As you noted, those causing the trouble are still acting as if they were still in the cult. True, his videos helped me so much in the beginning of my waking up process. The logical explanations was what and how I needed to hear the TATT. It’s so sad to me that it’s not watchtower, but the exjw community that causes him these problems. Watchtower is probably laughing , because they just stand there watching, while we doing their bidding.
I think there are 3 camps of people on this issue with Lloyd. Camp 1 folks are like you - you're not judging Lloyd on the actual mistakes, everyone makes mistakes. Camp 2 are the people who are materially bothered by the underlying cause of Lloyds actions. Camp 3 - which I believe is the largest camp - are the people who are less concerned with what Lloyd materially did to cause this, and more concerned with how Lloyd handled himself after-the-fact....and continues to act. Whereas I think its objectively true Lloyd hurt his wife...that is his private business. However, it was made public, and I personally am in Camp 3 where I think Lloyd really reacted badly thereafter.
When I was young my mother said to me. Let people talk about you. Pay them no attention. Whether it's true or false. It doesn't matter. The reason they talk about you is because their life is sad and miserable. Nothing makes them happier than to take you down in their misery. Thanks to you, the JW no longer knock at my door. Continue the good work until it's physically impossible to do so.

I found your channel quite by accident last year precisely when I needed it most. My JW mother who hadn't spoken to me for 14 years told me she loved me on her deathbed. Of course there is a myriad of pain and confusion that comes with having to deal with anything JW even after many years. Thank you for helping me when I needed it most. I'm sorry to learn that the defamation has still been going on. I generally don't go looking. I happened across the interview where you were ambushed by Andrew Gold sometime after it happened and was appalled by his behavior in doing that. I was curious if he ever apologized, since he seems to be popular among people I otherwise respect, but again, I didn't go looking. I hate that you have had to deal with all this. I know how awful it is to be the target of a smear campaign by people you formerly trusted, but I can't imagine how much worse it must be as a public figure on the internet. Yes when Lloyd went by the name John Cedars. It was those earlier videos he put out that awoken me from how corrupt the JW cult truly is. As a JW, I was never aware of the 1914, 1925, 1975 end of the world predictions, the Mexican/Malawian scandal, Joseph Rutherford and Beth Sarim, the CSA cases and unreported pedophiles within the congregations, WT's affiliation with the UN and much much more. Unfortunately I no longer see that earlier content Lloyd put out, it would be so helpful for those who are coming out of WT.

Hello Lloyd, I'm sorry things have come to this, I wish you all the best for the future! You have helped many people, and many more to come will benefit from the work you've created. A change can be as good as a rest and I hope you find more happiness in whatever you choose to do in the future. Branching out into other cults and religions I think sounds a great strategy to distance yourself from toxic Ex-JWs, as well as broadening your viewership. I for one, have only had a passing affiliation with JWs and would be interested in learning more about other cults and religions and the impact they have on people. Having a lot of exposure to the toxic side of Islam growing up, I feel that has a lot in common with much of what you've described with JWs, only it's more acceptable seemingly because that religion is so extensive. I would love more people like yourself to expose how awful and culty even mainstream religions can be.

Thanks for all that you’ve done over the years Lloyd! I started fading 5 years ago and I pretty much listened to every video you’d ever made while still working alongside JW’s. I’ve since reluctantly distanced myself from most JW’s, including both family and exJW’s. We all had a medaling, nosey, judgemental watchtower slave imbedded into our muscle memory from years of relentless indoctrination. We’ll all likely spend a significant portion of our lives with parts of that toxic personality in tow. Unfortunately, most probably won’t ever see just how deep those roots go into their psyche as it continues to distort their view of other people and themselves. Thanks again for continuing to make people aware that all is not well with exJW’s. We’re out of the fire but that doesn’t mean we aren’t badly burned and in need of healing. To anyone reading this, please keep yourself safe and rather than view “worldly people” as a monolith of fear, please realise that those exposed to JW indoctrination are far more likely to stab you in the back or have major erratic shifts in behaviour due to pangs of guilt and shame. That mentality is a the grease that lubes the wheels of Jehovah’s chariot, so to speak. If you have suffered indoctrination, please seek professional mental health. Your life will be better for it and your relationships will improve when you know how your mind works, not the damaged facade of a mind that was imposed upon you by short sighted, indoctrinated charlatans. I'm so sorry you have to go through all this crap, Lloyd. Back when I started working on de-brainwashing myself, I found the "famous" ex-JW forum and spent some time on there. I was actually somewhat appauled at how many of the ex-jws on that forum treated newcomers who were either genuine JWs or those who were doubting. I eventually left the forum due to it's leader and some of the awful ex-JWs on there. Finding your youtube channel was a breath of fresh air. I thought, "Finally! An Ex-JW who can set a good example of how to treat other JWs and doubters!" You've paved a worthy path on helping people out of the cult. Regardless of what others say, you've done excellent work and I hope one day that I can shake your hand and thank you. At the very least, I would welcome an on-camera interview on my experience (perhaps when my JW mother passes in the somewhat near future). There's lots I'd love to write, but I don't need to be filling this comment box. All I can do is wish you the best on your future endeavors. You gained my trust and respect from the first time I saw your videos. Just to throw in two cents on "why", I think it's all just part of being damaged, angry, disillusioned, and if shunned, still very much in pain. Then, once you add into the mix the competition of clicks and likes, things just go haywire and a LOT of these channels are only existing to whine and complain from their cars. They're not doing research and trying educate on anything. Just dismiss them. That someone is an exJW just isn't enough of a common ground to overcome so many personalities and motivations.

Lloyd, your channel was the first i came across when i was questioning what i was learning/being told during my "bible" study. I admit I was disappointed when the proverbial hit but as far as I'm concerned your private life is nothing to do with me or anyone else. It doesn't affect the value of the information you provide. I have continued to watch and always found the content interesting, helpful and very informative. It has been instrumental in my decision to stop my study.....i just have to figure out how to tell my fleshy sister who's been a JW for almost 40 years. I mostly watch post-Mormon and post-Scientology UA-cam channels and what you are experiencing is very common. The only difference is that you are doing it alone which makes it much much tougher. True, his videos helped me so much in the beginning of my waking up process. The logical explanations was what and how I needed to hear the TATT. It’s so sad to me that it’s not watchtower, but the exjw community that causes him these problems. Watchtower is probably laughing , because they just stand there watching, while we doing their bidding.
I think there are 3 camps of people on this issue with Lloyd. Camp 1 folks are like you - you're not judging Lloyd on the actual mistakes, everyone makes mistakes. Camp 2 are the people who are materially bothered by the underlying cause of Lloyds actions. Camp 3 - which I believe is the largest camp - are the people who are less concerned with what Lloyd materially did to cause this, and more concerned with how Lloyd handled himself after-the-fact....and continues to act. Whereas I think its objectively true Lloyd hurt his wife...that is his private business. However, it was made public, and I personally am in Camp 3 where I think Lloyd really reacted badly thereafter.

I found your channel quite by accident last year precisely when I needed it most. My JW mother who hadn't spoken to me for 14 years told me she loved me on her deathbed. Of course there is a myriad of pain and confusion that comes with having to deal with anything JW even after many years. Thank you for helping me when I needed it most. There are so many ex JW’s that rant and rage and unfortunately you cop it! In Oz we call it the tall poppy syndrome.
Some of the ones featured I used to watch way back, I won’t name them, but the guy standing with a blue folder outside a police station 🙄 I just shook my head when that popped up, I used to have so much respect for that guy but unfortunately they are used to being elders and being taken notice of and they just sound ridiculous outside of a KH!
ALL EX JW’s IMO need to get help & I’m serious here, if you don’t, the residual damage follows you around and you rage at others instead of working through your own anger. If you attack another activist instead of the cult itself you’re doing watchtowers work! Keep going Lloyd. I'm sorry to learn that the defamation has still been going on. I generally don't go looking. I happened across the interview where you were ambushed by Andrew Gold sometime after it happened and was appalled by his behavior in doing that. I was curious if he ever apologized, since he seems to be popular among people I otherwise respect, but again, I didn't go looking.
I hate that you have had to deal with all this. I know how awful it is to be the target of a smear campaign by people you formerly trusted, but I can't imagine how much worse it must be as a public figure on the internet.
It's good you can hold on to knowing that you are a good person. You need that to weather such attacks emotionally. Rooting for you.

Yes when Lloyd went by the name John Cedars. It was those earlier videos he put out that awoken me from how corrupt the JW cult truly is. As a JW, I was never aware of the 1914, 1925, 1975 end of the world predictions, the Mexican/Malawian scandal, Joseph Rutherford and Beth Sarim, the CSA cases and unreported pedophiles within the congregations, WT's affiliation with the UN and much much more.
Unfortunately I no longer see that earlier content Lloyd put out, it would be so helpful for those who are coming out of WT.

He documented it in film. There were translators of dozens of languages there translating each talk into corresponding sections. There were Israeli brothers and sisters there with Arabs. Hello Lloyd, I'm sorry things have come to this, I wish you all the best for the future! You have helped many people, and many more to come will benefit from the work you've created. A change can be as good as a rest and I hope you find more happiness in whatever you choose to do in the future. Branching out into other cults and religions I think sounds a great strategy to distance yourself from toxic Ex-JWs, as well as broadening your viewership. I for one, have only had a passing affiliation with JWs and would be interested in learning more about other cults and religions and the impact they have on people. Having a lot of exposure to the toxic side of Islam growing up, I feel that has a lot in common with much of what you've described with JWs, only it's more acceptable seemingly because that religion is so extensive. I would love more people like yourself to expose how awful and culty even mainstream religions can be.

Thanks for all that you’ve done over the years Lloyd! I started fading 5 years ago and I pretty much listened to every video you’d ever made while still working alongside JW’s. I’ve since reluctantly distanced myself from most JW’s, including both family and exJW’s. We all had a medaling, nosey, judgemental watchtower slave imbedded into our muscle memory from years of relentless indoctrination. We’ll all likely spend a significant portion of our lives with parts of that toxic personality in tow. Unfortunately, most probably won’t ever see just how deep those roots go into their psyche as it continues to distort their view of other people and themselves. Thanks again for continuing to make people aware that all is not well with exJW’s. We’re out of the fire but that doesn’t mean we aren’t badly burned and in need of healing.
To anyone reading this, please keep yourself safe and rather than view “worldly people” as a monolith of fear, please realise that those exposed to JW indoctrination are far more likely to stab you in the back or have major erratic shifts in behaviour due to pangs of guilt and shame. That mentality is a the grease that lubes the wheels of Jehovah’s chariot, so to speak. If you have suffered indoctrination, please seek professional mental health. Your life will be better for it and your relationships will improve when you know how your mind works, not the damaged facade of a mind that was imposed upon you by short sighted, indoctrinated charlatans. The more aware you are of the damage done to you, the more chances there are of you actually being able to help others going through the same thing. Together we are strong.
