- Potty training, Ora, our 12 week old Borzoi puppy. I ramble a bit in this one, so any specific questions send me a comment.
Also, here is the grass pee pad I referenced: www.amazon.com/Artificial-Bat...

Esper reminds me of a bird 🐥the way she tucks her head into her body. She’s so cute ❤️❤️❤️
Only one word for every upload: “Awww” 😍
Patience is absolutely key with puppies!! Love the positivity and how much fun you have in these videos. Can’t wait for more!!
Such a lovely horse
I really love these video's. Glad to know we kinda have the same idea about dog training. The grass pad is already here, now we only need the puppy.
Yes! They work great. Make sure to put it by the door you use (I made this mistake...) lol. I'll keep posting, I really appreciate the support.
@@esperborzoi Our balcony is quite small, but it only has one door. I hope the pup will figure out where to go. Does Ora go automaticly to the door when she needs to go potty?
@@annelienv We are transitioning Ora from using the Pad to only outside, She KNOWS to use the pad when she has to pee, so whenever I see her going for it, we go for a quick walk. She's getting the idea and starting to associate it - praise and treats work wonders with her- so slowly she's building the relationship with going out to peeing. We are SO close. haha.
I would say, try using the pad INSIDE and then once they get the hang of it, move it out to the balcony, she'll still desire to go to it, and might be your way of solidifying the relationship.
@@esperborzoi Is your pad inside or outside? And hey man, I don't doubt for a second that you guys won't get her fully potty trained. You're doing a great job already.
your dog esper is such a sweetheart!! im hopefully getting a borzoi puppy and having the puppie born in the next few weeks. Ive watched almost all of your videos+ nearly every online information about this dog and talking with breeders abt them and meeting them. thank u so much for your guidance on collars and stuff!
We just got a Borzoi puppy today! Thanks for the videos, will be watching all!
Awesome!!!
Love me some Borzoi!
Hello! I was the one on tik tok who commented about being subscribed today! 😂
Thank you!
I really appreciate the insights you bring about borzois but I can't help myself to get distracted by your two very cute doggies xD! Btw, you mentioned living in what I assume a condo and I was curious about the challenges about raising borzois in apartments. Another question I have is concerning their behaviour with other dogs, especially smaller ones, at dog parks. Do you ever feel like their hunter instincts are hard to control? Anyways, keep up with the videos, they are very helpful!
Nocchimochi they are great condo / apartment dogs as long as you exercise them daily (not just walks, they have to run!!!) but that said they are very calm in demeanor and like to lounge and relax. Borzois can have VERY strong prey instincts, and like all sighthounds, it’s best to introduce them to small animals cats and children EARLY ON. That said, something that scurried past might trigger it and you have to be ready.
Jacob Chattman I see, thanks for replying!
I want a borzoi sooooo bad
Ora (Aura 🤷♀️) is so well behaved! Is she busy/curious like other puppies? My last puppy (a poodle, so, BIG difference lol) was like having a human toddler haha. Are Zoi puppies all as laid back as your angel or would I have to 'child-proof' my house? Also how are they with teething?
The mellowness of their temperament is part of what i LOVE about the breed, they are usually very calm, elegant and relaxed. That said, she is still a puppy, and has times where she gets the zoomies, but they are NOT the jumpy, begging type, so much so that they might seem disinterested - this can be a turn off for some and have been described as having the personality of cats. Borzois are EXTREMELY sensitive, so once you set you boundaries on what should be chewed and what shouldnt, you can be "pretty confident" they wont break those rules. Still, some puppy proofing is needed, as well as, being a keen eye the first few weeks to really set the structure. The exception is teething, which you will need to expect as a heavy chewing phase and have toys/chews at the ready. Esper outgrew chewing almost all together (She doesn't even want to chew her food) and that's part of the reason why dental hygiene is REALLY important with this breed.
@@esperborzoi Ok, I do remember you mentioned that Esper is not fond of having her teeth brushed. Is that a struggle that needs to be met, or have you found other ways to take care of it like dentabones?
oHmega14 she hates Denta bones so we brush her teeth, we started that when she was a puppy, so it’s not hard 3minutes 3-4 times a week
Do they like to just sit in people’s laps?
BCubing Esper does, not sure if they all do. I used to do it with her as a puppy to help calm her down
Jacob Chattman oh ok. Thanks for the reply! Your great!👍🏻
We're getting a female borzoi puppy in two weeks. She will be 10 weeks old, and I'm really nervous about potty training. We have a standard poodle who very rarely had house accidents. Even our deerhound puppy (20 years ago) rarely had accidents. Our back yard doesn't have any grass, so I'm wondering how to create an intermediary step. We are in the eastern suburbs of LA, btw.
How is she now?
That explains why they poop on bushes, gotta go on the green
ahhhh, so they are lap dogs
