  • Hip tendonitis is usually 100% curable WITHOUT pain medications or injections. And as long as it’s treated properly it does not have any lasting effects.
    These exercises can begin to fix the muscle imbalance that overloads the hip muscle tendons and causes the tendon to become irritated and inflamed (tendonitis).
    Be sure to do these exercises just right. If you experience pain, then you’re doing the exercise incorrectly OR you are too inflamed to do them right now and you’ll need to rest for a couple of days to allow the hip tendonitis to calm down enough for you to tolerate the exercise.
    It is possible to make your hip tendonitis worse if you push through pain during this exercise. The only sensation you should push through is muscle fatigue in your glutes.

    In searching for help for my ever increasing hip pain, I found your channel. The episode regarding self-diagnosing hip pain confirmed my pain is due to hip tendonitis. I then found this episode. After doing the exercises 3 times in the last 12 hours, my pain has been reduced by at least 60% already. It’s nothing short of a miracle! I will continue to do the exercises & follow your recommendations. Thank you for creating this channel.

    I have had hip tendonitis for 21 months now. It just won't go away. Sometimes it gets a little better but usually gets worse again. Sometimes you can identify why it gets worse (picking up a cushion from below the level of feet, using clutch many time in a traffic jam, working bent, climbing ladders etc) I've had injections and tried shockwave (made it worse).
    It was caused originally on the golf range and definitely gets worse if I hit balls or walk too far.
    I feel your exercises (less violent than some I have been given - some physio's live and online clearly have not experienced it) give best results but I just cannot reach that point where it continues to improve.

    I'm 75 now and acquired horrible pain. I'm trying to locate the problem. I'm seeing the outside of the hip but also the groin area and down the thigh. It's really painful.
    I had 2 back fusions back to back 15 years ago(left leg falls happened with 1st, 2nd was an operation infection and 4 discs were eaten and was removed...no waist now) I had a fall 6 years ago and the titanium is broken with a dislodged screw on my left. I'm having pain trying to raise my leg. When trying to stand from sitting, it feels like my socket is dislodging. Very painful. I don't trust doctors anymore.

    I'm pretty sure I have this condition, and have been dealing with it for months. I believe it started with a problem with my SI joint, which I think I've gotten through since I don't have the massive pain that I used to have all over the left side of my hip. At this point, whatever pain I have, has sort of consolidated into a small area in the hinge area of my left hip, which I can temporary solve with only one Advil, so that tells me it must be some type of inflammation. My problem is that as soon as I start feeling good, I do something dumb and mess it up all over again. Your advice to stay off my feet is the thing I should have been doing. I went through a couple months of PT which I think solved the SI problem and I've been wearing a Trocanteric belt for the last month to keep my SI stable.
    Today it feels perfectly normal, but I know it's not healed yet, and one false move will set me back again. I was doing the bridges as taught in my PT, but as you pointed out, I was coming up too high with it. So my question is, how long does it reasonably take to cure hip tendonitis? I imagine it will take quite awhile.

    Doing the 'butt burners' is going to be difficult for me due to knee issues. Could this be done in a standing position, even if modified or less effective than doing it on one's hands and knees? I'll take some benefit over no benefit.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey Sue, great question! With any exercises or stretches performed soon after a hip replacement, the absolute most important consideration will always be your hip precautions. This means it is very important to follow those precautions when doing these exercises as well. If your surgery was recent, it may be advisable to avoid the butt burner exercise shown last in this video. Hope this helps!

    I have been suffering from hip bursitis or tendonitis since 2020. The only exercices I was given by the hospital is lifting my leg up from a side lying position, clamshell and monster walks. Are these bad?
    I will try your exercices as the problem never got better since 2020...

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  Рік тому +2

      Hey Valerie! Sorry to hear that you've been dealing with hip bursitis/tendonitis since 2020 :-(
      Those exercises can be good or bad - it depends on how you're using your glutes. If you haven't been using your glutes very well and instead your quads have been working more on the side-lying leg lifts, clamshell and monster walks, then these exercises have been keeping your hip bursitis/tendonitis there.

      @@epmanualphysicaltherapy thanks. I will start doing your exercices. As soon as it gets better I might start doing the other ones as well, now knowing that I need to focus on glutes (they never told me... last time I was in the hospital, they even said I didn´t have to come back anymore, just continue my exercices, they said I didn´t work hard enough so there was nothing they could do for me 😡)
      I hope your exercices will help me, I didn´t have a good night of sleep for years because the hip pain always wakes me up several times each night...
      Thanks for your video!

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy

      Hi Deb, yes! That's a great modification just make sure only the glute is activated. You should feel tired and sore only in the glute. If you feel sore in the quads or hamstrings you could exacerbate the issue.
      Just in case you're interested, we have a glute isolation video that you might find helpful. You can access it here: “3 Big Reasons Your Glute Muscles Won’t Work Well For You”
