Since Kingdom Come:Deliverance is partially a simulation,using a bow in this game is not that easy in comparison to other titles. So I made this Archery tutorial that will guide us through everything we need to know. Kingdom Come Deliverance is a medieval RPG game set in 15th century Bohemia,developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver.

I have 200 hours in game. But only from this video I understand that YOU CAN KNOCK DOWN BIRD NESTS. That explains why they are marked on minimap...

U know this is a true RPG/ medieval simulator when in order to get good you cannot button smash stuff but ACTUALLY TRAIN AND GET BETTER
thats very true. Im a skyrim/oblivion player and although archery is fun in those games, it is not immersive at all. At least in oblivion you can turn the crosshair off, but the movement speed still at the full speed, so ... Not to mention you need to hit 7 arrows on a shirtless dude until he finally dies haha. Im looking forward to acquiring this Kingdom Come Deliverance
@@Brazmann021 you’ll enjoy it! When roaming around the graphics and music makes the game feel cozy and how I felt the first time I played Oblivion as a kid. The combat you’ll need to train to get used to it
@@Brazmann021 yeah dont get put off by the combat. its hard because henrys a dirty peasant, you need to train like irl too become the badass knight. Also make sure to attend every bathhouses full services.
@@ahoosifoou4211 oh but that is a great touch to the game. I dont like the "superhero protagonist" kinda character , it just doesnt have a soul to me. On the other hand, when you need to develop your skill while you learn the game mechanics it's much better, it's like a symbiosis

Most of the time I have to mentally recall where the arrows will go once I loose them. Usually with a few initial shots I can place further arrows on target.
The arrows can fly directly in front of you even if you haven't fully drawn the string, but it becomes difficult to gauge where the arrow will actually go. Around the exact center of the screen - effectively where the reticle is - seems to be the spot. The archery otherwise is a matter of point shooting, which is not accessible whatsoever but very rewarding.

I actually do shoot instinctively in this game. Sometimes I aim with a chosen point on my glove, but after a bit you just get a feel for your bow.

I aim the bow using the knuckle that the bow is resting on. At medium range it seems to be a good reference and aiming point.
Or just do what I do - put a tiny piece of blue tack or gum on the screen for a makeshift crosshair. Works like a charm.

Providing you haven't picked the numbskull perk doing the mid tier competition in Uzhitz gives you 45 xp every time you win so it's one of the fastest ways to level bow in the game & you make lots of money too.

Get a horse and go to skalitz. There are always Cumans spawning there and they don't have any chance against a horseback archer. Usually you can get multiple sets of armour in one run.
Chumps gets you way more XP per game.

I'm my experience, Archery in this game is actually more difficult than in real life.
Hah, I've never shot at anything that moves in real life but I'd say shooting at a target is probably similar.....

Are you using a mod to generate that red flash where the arrow hits, or is that added in post?
I always thought the idea of having an aiming reticule on the screen at all times, except when you actually need to aim at something, made no sense, and I opt to use the config file tweak to have it always on. But I might try a run turning it always off instead, and using your instructive video.
Hi,U.P. It was manually added in post. Yes,definitely give the no reticle method a shot,it feels great landing hits without it.
As helpful as this video was, it really just boils down to practice. Yes it’s frustrating, but when you finally start getting good, or even a tiny bit better than you once were it feels like the most satisfying thing in the world.
I use the tip of my membership to line it up. Y'all have a dot on your screen, me too 😂.

You get some expierence it is just abissmal low, like 1xp every 3 to 4 shots.

hunting villagers is the best practice.
The "Dot" mod really helps if you want to cheat just a little.
you dont even need mod for that.
you can just add user.cfg file into kcd main folder and add a line "wh_pl_showfirecursor 1"
I have more than 300 hours in the game but today i have learned that you can compete in archery in Uzits....
Does difficulty increases with draw weight? I was able to get steady 30pt at range with low weight hunting bow but after getting better one (I meet requirements) drawing animation is twice as long and so is spread. Arrow flights faster and at longer range, but I struggle to get 15pt with this one. In the wild I have to lose up to ten arrows to hit a hare while with bow you get from sir Hans on hunting trip it was much easier.
Higher level bows change the amount of vertical and horizontal compensation from the target,and arrows reach greater distances. IMO,you just got used to the one you were using. Just train for a bit with the heavy one to orient yourself with it.
@@ThatOtherGamer I made a bit of reading and supposedly every tier has different characteristics. Previous one was villager tier, new one is proper hunting bow. And indeed it's better in hitting deer at range but much worse in sport shooting at close distance.
A easy and quick tips, is simply put a tape on the yellow dot, so you always know where you aiming whit a bow

No way to generate one unless your display supports it. Or do the tape on the screen trick.
Easy archery = put a small sticker dot on your screen center. Problem solved.
if you are on pc you can add a dot more easily by editing single line into game files.

Why do the arrows after hitting the body disappear after 10 seconds? Is it a bug in the game? Can it be fixed? It really ruins the immersion
some of the arrows "break" so you dont find them on bodies.
They do just disappear sometimes. In the recent short video I uploaded,the one on the Cuman's arm disappeared but both arrows were in his inventory.
@@ThatOtherGamer I have no objections to the technical aspects of the behavior of arrows after hitting the opponent's body, only to the visual aspect. Why are there no arrows sticking out of the enemies we shot at? Visually. That is, they stick out, but only for about 10 seconds, and then they disappear. If we examine the body of a fallen person, they are there in his inventory, but that's not the point. I only care about the visual aspect.

It's partially the reason for the existence of this guide,to aid those who can't generate it. There is an old trick of placing black tape on the screen.if they really want one.
The "bow dot reticle" mod for the bow is also essential! Return a much needed Quality of Life feature to the game.
You can just usw a console command, no need for a mod.
console command or user.cfg file in your main directory with "wh_pl_showfirecursor 1"
i use user.cfg fire becuase i need to disable vsync and cap my framerate as well
if i dont cap frames my GPU goes BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I hate the bow mechanics in this game. Can never hit anything.
me neither.
i only use it sometimes to knock out nests from trees.
and even then it becomes infuriating that i rage quit trying
naaah, it only works when you shoot, like you, way to early :D You just need to wait the first 1 sec after drawing and the arrow goes exactly where you aim... have 1.000 hours and all achievment, its not a really goog guide for progamers, but for really very very very beginners.
2:33 THIS IS A LIE!!! To avoid Henry getting hurt from the bow all you have to do is equip actual arm armor instead of vambraces. Please PLEASE learn the game before putting out tutorials that have LIES in them.
