I'm just imagining some inhabitant of this 15th century Moravian village peering over their fence to see the blacksmith's brittle boned haemophiliac kid muttering to himself "It's nice they rear up when they run, you can get quite a few hits." as he boxes the arse of the neighbours cart horse.
I thought my neighbor was a peaceful herbsman. Kinda kept to himself. Little did i know he was the local cowpuncher we couldnt catch... never wouldve guessed.
The protagonist running around like a total fucking psychopath, opportunistically knocking people out simply for the sake of getting better at it is some of the funniest shit lmao "Oh, a guard woke him back up, that means I can choke him out again on my way back" Utter menace
I did a challenge like this once and learned something important. You can soft lock yourself in the dream sequence when Henry comes back to Skalitz and gets his ass beat. If you are too strong in unarmed you can defeat the fully armored dream Cumans and the only way to wake up from that part is to die
Oh wow that's bad. I usually run in and let them hit me until I'm dead so I can skip the whole thing. It's easy to get lost in there in Hardcore mode because there's no movement marker on where to go and it's hard to see
Clearly you play this game a lot and like the rest of us have a lot of love for it, but calling our dearest Bianca (God rest her soul) the "barmaid lady" was outright disrespectful 😂 great vid, loved it.
Btw when you kill cows they drop meat which is initially considered stolen, but if you pick it up and then drop it on the ground, and then go to the other side of Skalitz and come back, the meat shouldn't be considered stolen anymore, been awhile since I've done this but it should still work.
I've done exactly what he's done at the beginning picking up every herb I can find. But I don't drop it in the street. What I do is I fill up my inventory full of herbs and then every once in awhile go back to the shops, and sell the herbs to the vendor, getting all their money and their Marigold and savior schnapps. Then I repeat that process to gain all of the marigold and savior schnapps potions from each vendor. Obviously there is not enough herbs on the ground to make enough money to trade for the Savior Schnapps and Marigold potions. That's where the cows come in later on by cooking their meat and selling it to them for extra value getting the the extra potions. You just have to get a weapon of some kind and kill the cows and then leave the area and the cows will respawn. Sometimes I do have to use some of my money that I've collected from them to balance out how much is owed but after a while I can get that money back I'll go from house to house lock picking the doors and then walking away and waiting for them to lock the doors again and repeat the process. Until I can get my lock picking up high enough to get into the tougher locks. And then I get to pick up all of the herbs that I sold to the vendors and i can I put them in the chest in the living room of our house and I picked them up later right before the fight with Runt and just like that all the loot and herbs are now in the chest at Rattay Mill
Played this game a ton, hardcore 100% completion with all negative perks and other challenges like only swords or no heavy armour, but this challenge sounds very cool, will try it myself!
doing simular :) wanted to see if I could max all skills before leaving home. turns out that the whole town respawns by the time you sober up twice so you can kill them with weapons/stealth. archery I'm saving for when I get to bet on myself. MUCH faster than animal hunting. fun fact hitting a sheep with a Warhammer counts as hunting in this game :) ps. hunting sheep with a Warhammer while Henry is drunk and player is stoned is very fun. sword max fist max (horses) ax max mace 18. cant max mount. cant max alchemy. drinking 15 all negative perks never left Skaltz.
I stratet my first KCD playthrough like two weeks ago. After some back and forth I've decided to play on hard.... now over 50 hours later, I have to say this is one of the best videogame experiences I've had in my life so far. Yesterday finally aquired some decent armor, I feel so powerful now and people talk to me with respect 👍
What a fortunate debute! My Henry usually dies by spawning/despawning cows while trying to punch them on PS4. As for lack of lockpick - stealing everything from Skalitz residents is not really necessary, since it doesn't give a lot of advantage long term.
I've had the cows spawn on top of me before lol it's brutal! I've noticed if you run into an area where they spawn too quickly, the spawn mechanic doesn't trigger until you're right there. It's a matter of RNG (almost like Russian roulette - like Czech roulette?)
I politely remind both of you that this happened to the friend of Roranoa Zolo/Zoro from One Piece. Her name was Kuina and she tripped down the stairs and died.😢
The block about never using something you craft is clearly a childhood traum with those old game when you got ONE potion, you use it and ending up stoping in the late game juste BECAUSE you took that potion... Sad story
What i do for optimizing strength without the glitch is go to trainer and keep hitting him over and over without chaining my attacks, then i fight kunesh and lose and then i throw the shit at the house and get in the fight there, that helps ramp it up before i go on my robbery spree so i can actually knock most everyone out
@@StratPlays I love it! The game is immersive and interesting and just a joy to play! Even when it’s frustrating, it makes me want to overcome the challenge. On the other hand I still feel like I have no idea if what I’m doing in combat is right. I don’t really understand if I’m blocking correctly and I can’t get combos off
@TheSiraffe Practice, practice, practice. Bernard was my best friend, he can be yours too. Apply potion to 3 or so waters to have them all be affected. 1 Lazarus can be 3 by applying to water. Poisons too. Got near 1,500 hours in the game, learned that 2 nights ago.
@@troydodson9641 I switched from the long sword to a warhammer and back to the long sword. The warhammer helped me get into the groove of blocking better and timing my blocks while being more forgiving with my strikes. I think I was just having a hard time dealing damage to enemies with the long sword and getting impatient But perks like can opener or tin cutter (can’t remember the name) have made the game easier along with just being more patient and not playing like I’m a demigod I also never used potions and just did my best to tank damage but I have recently changed that up as well. I got lvl 20 in longsword maces warfare and defense along with mastery in ready and repair so I’m doing really good once I took the time to be more patient and cautious with gameplay. There are still times where I get bumrushed by 5 bandits and my camera doesn’t want to lock on my most immediate threat but I think that’s just a gameplay quirk rather than being something I can actually deal with
I still don't have a grasp on the fighting after 30 hours 😂 so I just hide in the bushes with my bow and peg enemies with arrows until it's time to get out the horny mace.
My first time playing this game was such a pisstake. The lockpick mechanic essentially didn't work for controller, you'd have to be quadruple jointed to do even the most basic lock. So with that in mind I went through a chunk of the game ignoring locks, then someone informed me you could swap settings. That fixed that. Once I'd done that I reset the game. This time around I went in with some knowledge and the ability to open things, turned out to be my personal game of the year. A lot of respect to warhorse for giving us this game, even on the tight budget and small dev team.
The amount of detail they put into the game, the map design and the feel you get when you're in the world is one of the best I've seen! It definitely has some weak points - combat being one of my biggest complaints. But I can get past it since the rest of the game is soooo good!
I have always wanted to try this challenge. I completed the game on hardcore mode and what an experience, I actually got lost in the woods at a few places lol. Going to enjoy this and might re-install and finally try the challenge. Good luck Strat
for "getting the lockpicks" part. I always wondered this myself but I figured out the reason after many playthroughs. Dont touch the coal till the very last thing you are going to do. Once you buy the coal, you no longer need the money which means you no longer need the tools so you lose the option to talk to the guy for the fight and the lockpicks.
Should call this one the “Charles II Challenge” in honor of the peak Hapsburg genetic “achievement.” He also played through life with every possible negative trait
idk if someone has said this or not but one good way to farm animals more efficiently is to hit their butt. Works with both unarmed and weapons. u just keep stabbing their butt, easier to do on cows but all animals work that way I think. the hit effect would be some mud and the sound is solid hitting sound rather than the slicing thru meat u hear usually. when u hit the right spot dont move ur mouse but just keep spamming stabs. This wont damage the animal while u gain xp. only thing is the cows might move away once in a while so best way is to corner it and start farming.
I have already done a similar challenge I love challenges like this except the armor part I have done similar challenges for dl2 dl1 rdr2 with challenges like this it's the most immersive engaging and holy way to play ever have fun friend.
The first ever playthrough I played this game on hardcore with all negative perks. It's actually just fine and going back and playing on normal with fast-travel seemed like a immersion-breaking boring mode. All about perspective I suppose.
Love to see a new KC:D run, and with some very spicy rules. Are you using any mods at all? There is a very neat mod that does nothing except skip the herb-picking animation, which over a whole run could save you literal hours
No mods on this run as I wanted to try to get as many achievements as I could. The herbs are a pain, but it's only a couple hours of grinding to get max. I just look away from the screen so I don't get dizzy lol
I just beat the game on hardcore with all negative perks, took me a bit to get used to riding everywhere. doing a no-kill, virgin run for the last 2 achievements
Ah Skalitz you can get a fair bit done with the infinite livestock. Meat will lose condition and thus it's stolen status over time or as you did at the end simply cook it. Also for speach purposes you can buy items to sell to other vendors that don't accept herbs such as clothes. That way you can also drain everyone else. Also i do like to get the butchers blade to help my agility. Feels a bit faster to me. And stashing in Henry's house is a great way to take advantage of one of the few fast travel options in hard core a bit later... you can't win the fight anyway 🤷 a bit of snail walking is all good to bring the stash to Rattay. Lots of good tips here.
Especially when you grew up in the 80s and 90s, so none of the tech we have today existed. Having a PC meant you were fairly well off, and I only saw GPS in the military, long before it was available to the public, but it was rudimentary and clunky.
God damn making this challenge so hard on yourself makes me worried we wont see the finish. I subcribed just to see the journey I hope you will finish it. But no armour? Hot damn, Mate! Edit: I am sorry mate I just saw the playlist --> 43 episodes Holy shit!
2:23 SAME BRO! Lmfao Just recently I finished BG3 and did exactly that, saved my scrolls and potions the whole game for the big fight and didn't use a single one lmfao
Thanks! I only have 2 of the smaller DLCs - the one for tournaments and one for treasure maps. I keep forgetting to buy them all before I start a new campaign
Nice first vid and can't wait to see more! Curious how are you going to handle the mutually exclusive achievements? Getting 100% isn't possible without savescumming different quest outcomes for quite a few achievements iirc. Love to see you making KCD content!
Yeah I should have clarified - 100% of the possible achievements in 1 go. I noticed a lot of them you have to respawn in or get with DLCs. But the big, tough ones should be like maxing all stats and finishing the game on hardcore with all negative perks.
Does "one life" mean you will restart if you get the bug that insta kills you with fall damage occasionally when you get off your horse or will you just not use a horse?
If there's a glitch or bug, I'll probably just reload from the last save - although there are so few saves it would still be several hours of backtracking :(
YAS ATTEMPT 2 LETS'GO. I feel like last time you were kinda bored when you started clearing Rattay. Such a waste last time. Also, I would definitely see uncut 2 hours herb picking :3
I downloaded the game again but this time on Steam, after seeing what Kingdom 2 will come out and my God, my friends criticized me for spending 5 hours beating up a cow so that I could beat up an entire city and come out with lvl 12 very strong
I highly doubt I am the first person to comment, or if this is still even relevant. Fritz will only give the lockpicks if you don't finish the charcoal quest. So if you buy it early it will cancel the quest with fritz.
Haha just finished the old 20 episodes of this series right in time for the start of a new one 😄 Maybe you can try to progress more on the Main Quest this run 😄
ha, I was expecting hardcore and challenge, but I saw the usual beginning of the game :) all these moments when he punches cows? Why doesn't he strangle the guard with the bow? etc
It's because of the challenge that I needed to get some skill in the starting area. No armor, no healing potions and one life is pretty brutal (especially on hardcore all negative perks). I didn't go overboard though, nothing was even close to being maxed out
I eliminated Johanka before fighting the boys because without her the catchpole never comes and I had free range over beating each guy and they never died so I'd get each melee weapon and beat them with it just to get to level 20 in each skill LOL On a side note, I believe you won't need vambraces past level 5 of archery as Henry is now "proficient" enough to not flay his own arm

Just recently I finished BG3 and did exactly that, saved my scrolls and potions the whole game for the big fight and didn't use a single one lmfao
Lol it's an illness, I'm sure of it
Do you play with any of the DLC's? Keep up the great Work man! :)
Thanks! I only have 2 of the smaller DLCs - the one for tournaments and one for treasure maps. I keep forgetting to buy them all before I start a new campaign
The Royal Edition was £7 on Steam recently, the DLC bundles are so cheap right now. You should pick them up.
But the big, tough ones should be like maxing all stats and finishing the game on hardcore with all negative perks.
we are so back
Does "one life" mean you will restart if you get the bug that insta kills you with fall damage occasionally when you get off your horse or will you just not use a horse?
If there's a glitch or bug, I'll probably just reload from the last save - although there are so few saves it would still be several hours of backtracking :(
YAS ATTEMPT 2 LETS'GO.
I feel like last time you were kinda bored when you started clearing Rattay. Such a waste last time.
Also, I would definitely see uncut 2 hours herb picking :3
I learned from my lessons on the last one - this time is for real! :)
So if you buy it early it will cancel the quest with fritz.
is there not a mod that removes the RP for picking up herbs, feel like it would be fine if you used that. Love the video :)
I think if you use mods, it disables steam achievements so I decided not to use any. You're right though, that mod would have helped.
@@StratPlays okay I did not know that :)
Haha just finished the old 20 episodes of this series right in time for the start of a new one 😄
Maybe you can try to progress more on the Main Quest this run 😄
This run will be much better I think :)
ha, I was expecting hardcore and challenge, but I saw the usual beginning of the game :) all these moments when he punches cows? Why doesn't he strangle the guard with the bow? etc
It's because of the challenge that I needed to get some skill in the starting area. No armor, no healing potions and one life is pretty brutal (especially on hardcore all negative perks). I didn't go overboard though, nothing was even close to being maxed out
You can sell Stolen stuff to Bianca btw
yeee! i also just started a hc run
Oh no...Ill have to play it all again...YAY!
Lol "Here we go again"
I eliminated Johanka before fighting the boys because without her the catchpole never comes and I had free range over beating each guy and they never died so I'd get each melee weapon and beat them with it just to get to level 20 in each skill LOL
On a side note, I believe you won't need vambraces past level 5 of archery as Henry is now "proficient" enough to not flay his own arm
Correct about the Vanbraces. Cheesing those enemies to level skill is sad though, just level playing the game.
@@AwareWolfOnWheels what's sad is telling people how they need to play a video game for their own enjoyment.
@@coolflame0 He even says he doesn't like cheesing those fights, calm down Susan.
@@AwareWolfOnWheels dude bitches about how others play a video game and tells others to calm down 🤡 your panties are all knotted up broski, might want to check your massive projections.
Cheesing here is no different than killing a bunch of animals to level. Cope.
Welcome back! Nice video
Maby continue with MB bannerlord with new updates :D
Bannerlord guide will be ready by this weekend! It's over 30 mins long and took a lot of time to make, but should be helpful/interesting!
@@StratPlays Us always your the master! Thank you for every game guide/gameplay and the hard work
Peta isn´t happy with this video :(
Love this game
Gonna watch this whole video starting it now but i just gotta say like master strike make everything easy so im interested to see how you approach not just combo locking everybody
Just to let you know I leveled up to 18 on herbalism .
Wow that's really good!
Try herding sheep into kunesh's barn and dropping the meat.... respawn the sheep and the meat isn't stolen anymore:)
It's here! :D
I'll never play games like this without a mod to remove the pickup animation. It gets old reeeeeal quick
Hi Strat, just wanted to know, whether you are really determined to finish this goal, as it is really bonkers to pick up a series just to see it unfinished. And you have given up in the past with Kingdom Come.
I don't want to spoil anything, but I can promise you this one ends in either finishing the game OR in death from honorable combat. No more self-elimination to town guards lol
@@StratPlays great! love your content! keep it up! :)
Henry the psycho at it again.
