In TS2 I had a couple of raised from kids to adults and they were watching the clouds together and got absolutely wrecked by a falling satellite. I tried to quit without saving but it was too late. They were dead and it was scarring but also so good. It became lore that I used in that town afterwards. Made them a very lovely memorial garden. With the satellite of course.

Yesss !! And the fact that they had a limited amount of clothes. I loved matching different pants/tops that my sims owned to create different outfits. Whereas in TS3 and 4, I don't bother opening CAS to pick brand new stuff or make the effort to remember what they're supposed to own. i also wish there was a whim or emotion or something that's like "bored of my outfit" that encouraged you to change your sims outfit up every now and again. I get really bored when sims wear the same everyday outfit all the time but I don't really have a motive or reason to change it

The thing about the car picking you up for work, it was so satisfying to see the progression of the type of car that would show up. It would start off with a really rusty piece of junk, and at the end it would be somethin' real fancy, sometimes a limo

And cars in Sims1 and Sims2 (not Sims3 though) also drove (at least on they were on) like real cars. They'd go out of the garage, through the driveway, and onto the street, and if something (mostly sims) was in their way, they'd stop and honk at it. In Sims3 they "teleport" from their parking to the street, and just flow continously, passing directly over slower vehicles and sims on the road...

It’s also annoying when someone dies in the little neighborhood but not in the house… so the grave is just there. Forever. for me what the sims 2 did really well for being a closed world is the apartments. I've been playing it a lot more these days and it really is giving the semi open world that I want for the sims 4. because with how that system works is that a whole house can become an apartment so if you have a huge lot you can have lots of sims on it and actually go to there houses, interact with them and see them leave the lot.all without a loading screen its great. what really get me imersed is when I see all the kids on the lot actually get on the same bus and not just have random kids that should be in school running around.

One of my favorite parts of the Sims 1-2 were the dark senses of humor. There was still a hint of that in the Sims 3, but Sims 4 is utterly clean. The Sims 4 is clean and perfect and safe, which isn't super fun. I like my drama and my dark humor and my caricatured sims. I want to dress them dingy. I miss the shrink from Sims 2 that appears to slap some sense back into you (or in the console Sims 2 games, he would reset your wants and fears so you can start anew). I miss the sad clown and social bunny.

Although I love The Sims 3 one of my few complains about it is that it's a bit childish, but that's NOTHING compared to how squeaky clean and family friendly The Sims 4 is! Although I was quite surprised that TS4 has the "mess around" option for teens, and I was quite stoked about the "possessions" in StrangerVille because those are legit kinda creepy which is super uncharacteristic for TS4

Like a teenage crush, that is temporary (like a phase) unless maintained, where the teen gets a crush on a random other teen, who in most cases doesn't reciprocate. A lot of people say “we can’t have open world!” due to the lag but as many have said we have better technology now, many games manage open world just fine if they’re made well.
Along with that, they could just make it partially open world. Like the sims 4 has neighborhoods and in those neighborhoods they have sections. Sims 5 could have open worlds in each section of a neighborhood instead of the entire neighborhood like sims 3 did. That’s just my thoughts though.

    • @DittoAPokemon

      @westworld237 2 роки тому

@@KreeZafi I totally get where you’re coming from but see this is part of the issue. Games like RDR2 and HZD 1&2 (even TLOU2 which isn’t fully open world) aren’t made with low specs in mind. This is why they are able to have huge open word maps, complicated AI (especially HZD 1&2) and amazing graphics. If your computer/console can’t run RDR2 or GTA 5 , the devs say “oh well, get a better computer”. They don’t spend time and money trying to implement what you’re suggesting above. From a development standpoint point, it a bit of a waste of time (money). The thing is though, I don’t really think EA can do this with the current sims community (especially without looking like the bad guy) because much of their money and support comes from those with low spec computers, it wouldn’t t be right to simply throw those people away. But at the same time… the sims could be soooo much more (mechanically and visually) than it is right now if they focused on making a game without the limitation of low-end computer simmers.

The Open world is just a must-have for me. I enjoy sending my teen Sims to the graveyard while the mom is getting a massage and the dad is going fishing and staying there for the night in a tent. There is soo much life in the open world - the cafés, the view when your Sims take a walk up some hill, controlling your Sims all at once while them doing different activities and meeting different friends. Whenever I start the Sims 4 it just gets boring so quickly. Even Sims 2 is more entertaining because there is way more drama and I can definitely look over the fact that it’s not open world cause it’s from 2004 - but Sims 4 sure doesn’t do it for me anymore.

Tbh the franchise is probably ruined because people no longer trust The Sims franchise. People bought The Sims 4 en masse because of the reputation of The Sims through The Sims 3.
The Sims 4 already exposed EA as money-hungry and neglectful towards their consumers (telling them to just download mod to fix issues, regressing from past games, even bringing in Game Changers is pretty controversial).
I don’t think The Sims 5 will be successful w/o EA doing TS4-style money grabs.

The Sims 4 has no personality. It's a shell of what the franchise was. So sad. This video also makes me realize what was missing in TS4 and, to a much lesser extent, TS3. Eventually you would just run out of things to do. It's not for a lack of packs, skills, or objects. It's that elements of the UI are missing. The Sims 1 and 2 were such passion projects, you could really tell how much love was poured into them. The Sims 3 brought a lot of new amazing things that improved the game. But The Sims 4? Very obviously just a cash grab. They have made improvements to it over the years, I'll grant that, but it's still so far off from the previous games. Just the fact that it was made from the salvaged scraps of another game really shows just how little they care about the game, they just want a quick buck.

I had an idea for The Sims 5. We should be forced to choose a flaw if we want more positive traits for our Sim. Like in Sims Medieval, but 2 traits and 1 fatal flaw wouldn't be enough, so maybe you could choose 4 traits and 2 flaws and so on. It could work with a point system, where you can spend your points "buying" positive traits and if you get short on points, you choose a flaw which will give you more points to spend. The number of points will vary, depending on how bad that trait is.
For example, imagine that I have 10 points to spend. I buy the following traits: Good (worth 4 points), Artistic (worth 3 points) and Friendly (worth 3 points). But I wanted more traits, so I buy a negative trait or flaw. I choose Clumsy (which gives me +3 points) and Unlucky (I get +4 points from it). Now I have 7 extra points to spend, so I get Hopeless Romantic (for 6 points) and Loves to swim (for 1 point).
This way I could make a Sim with so many traits, but also with so many flaws. It would be so fun to experiment with them. But of course, we would need MANY traits/flaws. Something like what we had in The Sims 3.

The customisation level in Sims 3 is so perfect that I cannot fathom why they steered so far from it in 4. You can make any build mode item match another by making it the exact same colour and texture. It’s so hard to make things match and look good in 4 because you’ll get a nice window or couch and it matches absolutely nothing. Likewise for clothing, in 4 I’ll find a nice top and be like “well I don’t know what the creators wanted me to put this with because everything looks ridiculous or it doesn’t come in a colour that looks good”.
I need life stage meters back as well. Babies are babies for way too long and I often need just an extra day or two on toddlers. I want events like prom and school recitals back, as well as private schools from Sims 2.

I would definitely keep the genetics from The Sims 2. I know hair and eye colors are pretty limited in there but the idea of some traits being recessive and other being dominant is so smart and realistic. It could absolutely work even if hair color and eye color were a spectrum. Simply, darker colors would be dominant and it would be a little more difficult for recessive (lighter) traits to show up. I know it can be a pain in the ass sometimes when most of the town ends up with black hair, but a possiblity of having undercover recessive genes that can show up in the next generations is amazing. It's always a nice surprise when the offspring gets a trait that wasn't expected to have yet it makes a lot of sense from genetics perspective. Another idea could be mixing those colors, like brown and blue eyes making green eyed child, or dark brown and blond hair making light brown hair. I think a proper genetics could be done very well in The Sims 5. It could be based on The Sims 2 idea but could be adjusted to give a little bit more possibilites. I personally love The Sims 2 system and it's a huge part of my gameplay to properly "breed" my sims to have hair and eye colors that I know are possible to get. It's much better than Sims 3 and 4 where you can change sim's hair color for blue and their kids end up with the same hair color.

The other games did it well with interests, wants and fears, turn ons, personality points, more traits, and the most important imho are memories. I love how the Sims would remember something that happened which can either traumatise them, or make them happy. In the sims 4 someone can pass away and not long after their loved ones act as if nothing happened. I also really want to see certain items return, primarily objects from the Sims Superstar. Being able to record a jingle, walk down a runway, model for a photoshoot, record a music video/movie are really fun for me and the equivalents that have been released since then don't have the same impact.

Sims2 always felt like such a personal experience, each Sim had their own personality, and each family felt so different from the next. In sims 4, I feel like it’s all generally the same. There’s no consequences for any actions, like when a partner cheats on another, nothing really happens.
I miss having memories, it was always fun to look back & see what impacted your sim throughout their life.

It’s the open world which for me just made the town seem so much more real and alive, plus being able to customise pretty much everything from sims 3 that I miss to the point I still haven’t really crossed over to sims 4. As one of the few that managed to get the sims 3 builder to work lol, being able to build my own custom open world 👌🏾👌🏾✨ can’t beat it if they could put the world builder in the game that would be amazing

I didn't get to play Sims 2 on PC because I didn't have a PC I only played it on console and its a whole different thing but the memories that I've heard so much about really interest me and I would like to see it come back along with wants and fears.

I miss the little sleeping animations from the sims 3 like couples sleeping together cuddling, kids waking up from a nightmare and then going back to sleep on their own or crawling into bed with a parent and gettin hugged. I miss pets getting up on the bed and sleepin with ya.
And i miss the collectible birds flying through the house at warp speed if you had doors open.

They should just straight up have a neighbourhood creator in TS5 that let's you do everything from choosing the size to morphing the land to laying down the roads to placing rabbit holes to placing land and houses. Basically the world editor from TS3 except much better optimized and built straight into the actual game.
      The more customization the better.

I feel like in the Sims 5 we should have worlds similar to the Sims 2 where the worlds are semi-open which would also mean the worlds wouldn't make the game as laggy as the Sims 3.

    • @Reds-Retros

Yeah I still to this day can't get over the fact that the 4th entry in this franchise has less neighbourhood customization than the game that came out 10 years before it.
Everytime I try to give ts4 another chance, literally the first thing I see when loading up the game is how much of a backwards step the game is and most of the time I don't even make it into live mode before I quit and load up TS2 or TS3 instead.

If there's one thing I would absolutely love to have back for The Sims 5, it's zodiac signs. I understand not everyone is going to be down for this but with me mainly playing The Sims 2, I feel zodiacs add much more depth to the Sims gameplay. Especially if you add compatibility to them. For example, if there is a Sim who is a Cancer and you try to hook them up with a Sim who is a Aries, it would be kind of difficult since they aren't that compatible. But if they were a Taurus, it would be easier. I love that about Sims 2 and 3, but I feel 2 has much more depth to it.

7:34 WTF? Is that a freaking SECTIONAL COUCH?! Why did TS2 have a sectional, but TS4 has these stupid “bench couches” and other asinine types of couches?! Watching this infuriates me, because it shows how much EA has really gotten “PAY TO PLAY” with The Sims franchise, and that it really has lost a lot of its heart, but we’re all dumb enough to buy for nostalgia and $500-750 later; our sims still cannot differentiate between washing their plates off in the KITCHEN sink (5 ft away) versus walking up to the 3rd floor of a house, and washing their plates off in the BATHROOM SINK…smh…i sure do miss the old Sims gameplay and depth and feel of their worlds…TS4 is good but very hollow, and with years and NEW CONTENT etc announced and planned. The least they could do is, remaster and offer us all the ITEMS, SONGS, WALLPAPERS, THEMES, etc from the previous games into DLC packs…that would reinvigorate the game and bring back the customization and depth that we deserve for being committed fans for over 20 years now

I desperately want Create-A-Style, it was one of the best things to ever happen to the game imo. As long as they ALSO have a good set of swatches there is no reason not to have it, people who don't want that level of customization can just use the swatches instead. It'd be so easy to make both options available....

    • @KreeZafi
      @KreeZafi 2 роки тому

Also I desperately want an open world, my play style often involves sending different household members to different locations. I want to be able to do that while still controlling all of them, not having to choose which lot to be on. I know this slows down the game but maybe it can be customizable? Like there could be three options in the game settings: one for a fully open world, one semi-open where you can access nearby lots but not the whole world, and one closed where it's just the current lot. So people can choose depending on their computer's performance or personal preference.

    • @KreeZafi

OMG JUST REMEMBERED, another thing I desperately want is non-mutual relationships like in The Sims 2! I want two sims to be able to feel differently about each other. Unrequited crushes, hating someone who still likes you, etc. SO much more fun for gameplay when relationships don't necessarily go both ways!

I like the incentives sims 2 had too. Like food bringing up hunger but if u grow ur produce and cook with it, the hunger bar fills up so much faster. The way open for business was. I had a farm family who grew all the produce possible and fish and sold it in their farmers market community lot which obviously was more expensive but it’s fresh and u don’t have to grow your own food. And going on vacation or university to get extra want slots. The aspiration perks and getting a secondary aspiration. Ugh so good honestly
