Sims 3 was so good with AI. I would trade emotions for functioning AI in a heartbeat. Sims 4 sims are like “This is such a nicely decorated room, I’ll just stand here being overwhelmingly happy until I piss myself”
I had one of my sims leave the lot for a few hours. When I came back home, her sleepy husband was watching TV while her starving toddler who was covered on filth slept outside. Pathetic
KayGee it’s like sims 4 sims want to die. I hate how they won’t take care of toddlers. They never feed them unless you force them to. The only thing I’ve seen parents do willingly to keep their toddler alive was give them a sippy cup. Also, when we’re off the lot you can tell a sim to ‘care for self’ but you can’t tell them to care for toddler.
So frustrating! Sometimes my sims will even be so content to stand still in the corner that they just refuse my actions when I prompt them. Like the prompt will just disappear & theyll stay still... on the opposite end of the spectrum, the other thing that pisses me off is that it cancels their current self-started action if you prompt them to do something. Like my sim will have a red bladder bar and autonomously go pee; in the middle of peeing I prompt her to change out the laundry so it immediately cancels her peeing to go change the laundry right this second. Then she pisses herself in front of the washer because she didn’t finish peeing. It’s so annoying that I have to micromanage my sims so they actually complete actions. Can they change it so the sims finish their current action before the prompt action? It’s like the sims either do too much or not enough.
uwu this is so annoying. If they’re in the shower I I tell them to cook I always mean AFTER the shower. Not get out of the shower to cook. There’s no logical reason for that. Also, I like to queue things up and they can never just do it. One tiny thing can just erase the whole queue.
The Sims 3 AI is the best. I've noticed recently that sims even feed small pets autonomously. Kids and teens start doing homework autonomously. In the Sims 4, all that sims do autonomously is using the computer.
a great way to speed up ts3 is to combine packages if you use modded stuff. I also recommend looking into sims 3 ram usage on google, because ts3 only uses 2gb by default. I upped mine to 4 since my pc has 8gb and it helped quite a bit. I've also heard locking ts3 to a certain amount of frames (like 60 if you get more than that) can help with how smoothly it runs. ALSO, delete everything from docs > elec. arts > sims 3 > dcbackup except the ccmerged package. That helped me a lot.
Honestly, The Sims 3's AI is so good, I don't find it difficult to take care of overstuffed households. I'm currently playing with a household with 12 Sims and 6 pets (with mods). I still need to pause to make sure everyone does their homework / work on their skills, but other than that, they are pretty good at taking care of their needs and using most of the objects in the house.
I agree, it's not difficult at all. I do pause a lot to check up on everyone and make sure they're building up their skills, do their work, homework, building relationships, etc. Filling their needs is nothing
My current household has 6 Sims. They stand around most of the time, aside from taking care of needs. Sometimes I see my Sim's Boyfriend reading at the Dining table, and my Sim's husband cooking. My oldest son just reads. And my Simself uses his computer. The other two kids are at boarding school.
I remember when the Sims 3 was being advertised one of the selling points was "Sims take better care of themselves so that you can focus on the bigger picture"
To be fair, it’s kind of necessary that your sims take care of themselves with the open world concept. The game can’t just pause the sims you’re not focusing on anymore. I also feel that made the world around them realer because townies would get married, have kids, and age along with your own sims so there’s more of an incentive to keep up with them.
@@Iamjustherek this just made me picture sims dropping dead in the park because they haven't fed themselves, i will now be laughing at this visual forever, thank u
That makes a lot of sense actually. In 1, 2 and 4 you're only focused on one lot/household at a time, but in Sims 3, your entire town in your lot. They expected players to move their cameras all about the town and survey other sims in it and their lives. It would be impossible to play a game that has the mood decay or AI of the other games while having open world, like it would be pure chaos 🤣

Not surprised at all, after the sims 2 the sims franchise was a bit watered down. I understood their reasoning for the sims 3 because they spent so much time on the open world and they wanted players to interact and get out of the house, so they needs don't drain as much. The Sims 4, the only time I have difficulties is with pregnant sims need to eat and pee a lot. The Sims 4 is so watered down it's almost impossible for me to play the game without mods. When I finally figured out you could do that I would actually get annoyed when my game loaded at a decent speed because I wouldn't get as many lifetime happiness points as I could have to make my sims have twins, haha.
Not very surprised, actually. The drama from The Sims 3 didn't come from the game itself, but from how buggy and horribly optimized it was. The challenge was playing without the game getting laggy, crashing or something weird happening. These days that doesn't happen anymore if you have a decent computer, but ten years ago it was pure hell.
Jesse’s humour is so underrated like 5:15 when she was in the bush ‘I feel like joe from you’ like sorry but where else are you gonna find comedy like this
I find in sims 3 the chaos comes in relationship. Sims will hate each other, start new relationships, and have a whole baby while you're gone. They're less likely to just completely ignore their needs for no reason, and unless you get a fire there isn't much else that will go horribly wrong
Omg I would love this! I remember my best friend showing me Curse of Blackmoor Manor when we were about 13-14. We got through about 7 of them I think, her mum used to collect them all
I reckon that the sims should have a slider so that the player can choose the likelihood of random events happening (e.g. fire starting, sim getting abducted, Vladdy showing up at ya door step, getting robbed etc. etc.). That way, if the player likes sims 1/2 hecticness (or more) or if they prefer Sims 3/4 peace mode, then they can choose.
Ughhh so happy to get to finally watch one during the day! I’m an essential worker so haven’t been in isolation and have been super busy, but today I’m home sick unfortunately (endometriosis flare up no flu for me thank Jesus) so I get to relax with youuuuu!
My Sims in Sims 3 are excellent at taking care of themselves. Highest free will and a house with everything they need, and I sometimes control only one sim while letting the rest of the family do their thing as background characters, and they stay perfectly happy and healthy and functional. That a.i is a breath of fresh air.
It just proves that it's...boring. What's the point of Needs if Sims take care of them without you? Might as well not have them. They are there to be a challenge.
AJ Martinez The whole point of the Sims is the player needs to intervene. Sims 3 having an overpowered autonomy and lack of random events, means core game could basically play itself with no risk. Even in Sims 4, the Sims looked after themselves as adults, but the game generated random events that affected her game, and therefore broke the flow and that was full autonomy as well. Her Sims did look after themselves until there was a fire and the caregiver died. Which then lead to random events with the children. In 3, there was no random events and the game basically did nothing. Different between “full autonomy” and the game not needing a player. There still be consequences for no involvement.
AJ Martinez Lol you are missing the point entirely. The point is: Sims 3 fails in creating random events that keep playing interesting. The game should require you to need to play. If a game can play itself that is a problem, not that we WANT the game to play itself. But if it can, then what is the point? The game should generate random events, and need us to direct our Sims so that depending on how good the player is at remediating these events, the game varies player to player. As Sims 3 is a game focused on giving you more time to “explore the world” it then means that the core aspect of the game which made The Sims what it is takes a backseat. If there the game doesn’t create any challenge, it gets boring. It’s good for people who just want to tell stories and cheat the rest, but for people who play for the challenge and who play for the random events as part of the gameplay, 3 is simply not as eventful and disappointing. Despite having a slider, Sims 3 goes from either being Sims just standing around awaiting orders or being able to look after themselves without the player. Ironically, the Wii version of The Sims 3 keeps the same level of events as Sims 2 and requires much more player involvement.
Fun Fact: The Sims 1/2/4 Sims actually prioritise their "Fun" need more than any other need, and the reason for this is so they will only look at their other needs when the player intervenes or it's hit critical levels. It's by design to keep the Sims more interesting to play. Sims 3 sims however weight all their needs the same, which basically means they look after themselves and the game almost can play itself. The Sims 3 also has the slowest need decay in any Sims game. The key to the Sims is that your Sims *NEED* you. What's the point otherwise?
It’s because you can do so many things in the Sims 3, there’s no point on focusing on their needs. Also in my experience Sims 3 is really chaotic and filled with death without the need of dying from hunger or peeing themselves every 3 hours.
Tide Pods Mom There’s so many things to do in every Sims game. The whole point though is there’s supposed to be a challenge to it. Sims 3 Sims pretty much can eat; pee and wash once a day and that’s it. It kinda defeats any challenge to the franchise. Sims 3 is basically only good if you don’t like challenge. You can get promotions even if you don’t build skills etc. They might as well remove needs because they don’t serve any purpose in 3. Luckily there are mods that can make it harder but one of the reasons why challenges like this one are boring is because the game basically plays itself. In the other games, they don’t. In Sims 4, one of my Sims caught on fire and one of my toddlers got taken away after the mum passed out after being abducted. This was 3 days into playing.
Jack Morris Sims in the Sims 4 are really unintelligent. I’d rather have Sims that autonomously take care of themselves than Sims that piss themselves so easily. Sims 4 gets bland and boring after a while and that’s one of its biggest problems. Sims 4 is not challenging at all. It’s not a challenge to take care of their needs, it’s just kind of there. Some EA game changers have even stated its like playing in peace mode. I’m kind of shocked nothing happened in Jesse’s video because when I play the Sims 3, people are dying from hot dog eating contests and setting the stove on fire even though they’re a level 5 in cooking.
I haven’t laughed so much at a video in quite a while. Your commentary 😘 I’ve just got back into Sims 3 and 4 after a few years’ break first cos I was bored and then hand pain, which actually isn’t really better enough but the dopamine zing from the sims, whew. It’s good to see Sims 3 fared well, loads of unmet needs and bad moods, and down to only one working toilet, no tv and 4 beds between 6 kids, but no deaths or social workers! Woo. I heard that Sims 1 is the hardest and we don’t realise unless we go back to play it again. I haven’t, though I have good memories. 22 years of simmimg, amazing.

You should put ONLY Murphy beds when u do sims 4, they’ll die so quickly
Charlotte O'Connor I hate them. I downloaded a mod that take away the Murphy bed death😂
I have a sin where I've worked my ass off to get as many skills to ten as possible.. then she decided it was TOO FUN to tend her garden and died...Fekk no, not doing that 😂
yknow even though the sims in ts3 almost always looked the same no matter what you did, at least they could function correctly instead of watching tv regardless of if they’re starving and pissing themselves
“You know what I love about Tiddy, right?” 😭😂😂
I feel like this is the ultimate proof that the games have gotten easier.
I never feel more connected to Jesse than when she talks about LifeSimmer
Maia Rostved RIP LifeSimmer
Nina Gonzalez She streams now luckily! But I do miss the good old sims 3 days 😔😔
Nina Gonzalez she’s not dead lmao
Tide Pods Mom It’s a joke
Thank you for the consistent uploads recently! 💛 You’re sense of humor is so refreshing! My fiancé is in the hospital awaiting testing results, going on day 3, and no one is allowed to see him. It’s really nice to have some high quality content to distract me during this time!
"Disney plus is out so I'm doin good."
That's honestly a mood.
Aw man, I forgot how much I missed the Sims 3 "eye spy" feature in their loading screens. When I finally figured out you could do that I would actually get annoyed when my game loaded at a decent speed because I wouldn't get as many lifetime happiness points as I could have to make my sims have twins, haha.
Y'all it's 3 am here and I've never been so early in my life
I got the sims 3 today, it’s the next investment ever. The sims 4 I’m refusing to play until the new expansion comes out lol
Really?
I mean the sims 4 is an absolute failure and boring compared to the sims 3 lmao
Was it always a rule you couldn’t interact? I swear you interacted in the other ones? Mainly just wanted you to tell the horse to drink aha
Holly Black I would have said the same thing, she at least tried to control stuff in the first game
Yeah she was definitely supposed to be trying to control them in the first two! I'm guessing she thought ts3 would be too easy...?
@ i'm just an IDIOT and completely forgot that rule hahaha
Áine Órga Haha I could swear that was the rule
I mean, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
5:20 the way they posed liked battle characters truly tells me something about this challenge
This just gave me a strong urge to kill my computer by playing sim3 thanks
“I feel like Joe from YOU”
I’m dying 😂
Not very surprised, actually. The drama from The Sims 3 didn't come from the game itself, but from how buggy and horribly optimized it was. The challenge was playing without the game getting laggy, crashing or something weird happening. These days that doesn't happen anymore if you have a decent computer, but ten years ago it was pure hell.
*The whole family successfully survives, no kid gets taken away, no fire, no robbery*
Jesse: “I’m kind of disappointed”
Omg i'm so early wth
I love the sims 3, it's the best one out of them all tbh.
Jesse’s humour is so underrated like 5:15 when she was in the bush ‘I feel like joe from you’ like sorry but where else are you gonna find comedy like this
Now I'm sad you brought up lifesimmers seasons let's play, oh the good ole days
A perfect first name and last name. First name: Abort Last name: Tion
sat eating chilli non carne and now plumbella uploads a new vid, just when i thought my night couldn't get any better..!
Just the words "childline" and "A barrel of laughs" are amazing to me.
I adore your jumper and colour coordination today!
i had lots of fun playing showtime! maybe you should do a lets play! i love the sims 3 content
Sometimes her accent is so strong the auto English subs doesn’t even know what she’s saying lmao. (I still love her tho)
i am LOSING IT OVER CARDIAC ARREST AS A SIM'S NAME-
You nailed the Texas homeschool family aesthetic here.
Everytime I hear your greeting it makes my day that much better!
*doesn't make any form of a stable* MY HORSE IS JUST... LEAVING 😂😂💖
thank you so much for posting more during these really difficult times, your videos always make my day a little brighter
"lost a friend?! ha! THE HORSE!!!!"
when sims die: well i told u get away from the fire
when your sims pet dies:
*CRIES REAL TEARS*
found your chanem during this quarantine and i literally cant remember when i last laughed/cried like this
I find in sims 3 the chaos comes in relationship. Sims will hate each other, start new relationships, and have a whole baby while you're gone. They're less likely to just completely ignore their needs for no reason, and unless you get a fire there isn't much else that will go horribly wrong
You need to try playing a Nancy Drew game! I think you’d like warnings at waverly academy.
I second this!! Tbh most of them are great it's hard to pick a bad one
Omg I would love this! I remember my best friend showing me Curse of Blackmoor Manor when we were about 13-14. We got through about 7 of them I think, her mum used to collect them all
yaaaaasss I'm playing Shadow at the Water's Edge right now
Last. Train. To. Blue. Moon. Canyon.
Delightfully creepy
I take back what I said about it being hard to pick a bad one, Ghost Dogs of Moon lake is very repetitive and frustrating
You're absolutely brilliant
been waiting for this for so long!!!!
Ughhh so happy to get to finally watch one during the day! I’m an essential worker so haven’t been in isolation and have been super busy, but today I’m home sick unfortunately (endometriosis flare up no flu for me thank Jesus) so I get to relax with youuuuu!
WELP, this finally kicked my ass into re-installing the Sims 3, thank god I have all the time in the world to plaaaay.
My Sims in Sims 3 are excellent at taking care of themselves. Highest free will and a house with everything they need, and I sometimes control only one sim while letting the rest of the family do their thing as background characters, and they stay perfectly happy and healthy and functional. That a.i is a breath of fresh air.
this just proves that the sims 3 was and still is the best sims game ever made by far 😬
True that!
It just proves that it's...boring. What's the point of Needs if Sims take care of them without you? Might as well not have them.
They are there to be a challenge.
@@APEABOUTSIMS I liked it way more that way, then I didn't have to control everyone in my household just to get them to survive lol
Your videos are such a wonderful source of happiness in these weird times. Thank you for continuing to make content for us :)
loving these everyday uploads yaaassss
Jesse, I think you forgot to give them a fireplace! The whole thing would have gone way differently with a fireplace. They LOVE leaving those on 😈
I haven’t laughed so much at a video in quite a while.
Everyone else during the quarantine: Using their time at home productively, staying busy, picking up a new hobby etc
Me: Alone in my room getting messy juiced
Oops 😂
sims 3 is that one jeremy kyle episode where he IS the dad and everyone is happy 🤧
the new sims 4 update doesn’t let you drown your sims. either that or my game is broken
this tempts me furthur into getting sims 3 over sims 4, but dammit i want the perfect combination of both the games into the best sims game ever
*side eyes sims 5*
the results are always shocking.
Plumbella is thriving in this social isolation, this was one of the funniest videos ive seen of hers and legit nothing even happened in the gameplay. *chefs kiss*
Nobody:
Not a single soul:
Not even Charli Damelio:
Jesse: RENEGADE RENEGADE RENEGADE
You have literally kept me going through all this. Thanks for uploading so much I really appreciate you.
I've spent the day on a harry potter roleplay discord server and my brain hurts. Im like now permanently known as Rosiana brookeleath the head of hufflepuff 🤣😭
Tiddy deadass just tried to ditch the horse. I CANNOT BELIEVE-
Lockdown is not going well for jess and we’ve only watched about 30 seconds of the video
i think we can all agree that we need at least one murphy bed in the sims 4 version of this
Yep, those results truly did shock me 😂😂 I was expecting the apocalypse pt.2 after the sims 2 episode 😭😂
The fact that in TS3, people would come over and sleep in your bed, when in TS4, when you do that at other people's houses, they say it's inappropriate and kick you out.. so weird
I think the similar restriction did apply in The Sims 3, I use nrass mod to bypass it.
The content we need, yes good
Sims 4 on expert mode is probably gonna end with all the Sims in a happy or playful mood and friends with every neighbor.
How does one pull of the purple hair look? Sometimes I can hardly pull of the normal hair look
This is why Sims 3 is still my favourite, fight me
learning tik tok dances is the prime quarantine activity
Since you aren’t even trying to control them this time, it could really just be “I left my sims game on overnight/for 24 hours” but on a time crunch
