Unbelievable that doctors are still fixated on LDL

Well every study shows low HDL + high trigs = high ldl which is the case with most people with ischemic heart disease. But better to consider TC/HDL ratio and LDL:HDL ratio. We are born with an LDL:HDL ratio around 1.

@@TB1M1 right, I have a great ratio but high ldl, if it's a useless indicator on its own then it's a useless indicator period

@@TB1M1 also I've seen normal ldl with bad ratios. Half of people that get heart attacks have normal LDL

@@museitup4741 Yes you are correct. For example Tim Russert had TC of 150 approx and LDL around 90. high trigs 335mg/dl. In todays enviornment where people eat more oils high cholesterol is less of an issue but unfortunately artery disease persists as triglycerides rise and HDL is compramised. In the case above TC/HDL was 4.7 much too high.

I will ALWAYS trust an engineer over a doctor when looking at data.

I am surprised the con side when Dr Westman is in the audience and spoke up has published over 100 papers and has so much evidence to explain the safety and effect of very low carb intervention. And if you look at the Look Ahead trial it was stopped at 9.6 years because of futility but the intervention was a low fat low calorie diet in the ILI arm, showing no CVD reduction. I don’t see how that helps Dr Roy’s side.

Dr. d'Adamo has done diet studies for years.....he & his son believe different blood types process different food, differently. Like the nutritionist on the panel said, not all diets are for all ppl. Great discussion!!! We need more! Dr.'s need to be nutritionists, then herbalists, Nvr Drug Pushers, unless there is no other option. Education starting in Kindergarten, on diet options, no sugar, no over processed food, how to make nutrient dense meals, etc, needs to be taught Now! 💕🍀🙏🏼

Wow, don't think I can sit and watch all of this. The negative, non factual, unreferenced mud-slinging of one just confuses those who are not fully aware of the research available.
He is doing his job muddying the waters and those around him seem happy to collect splinters from the fence.
I'd be more concerned that his HDL is only raising slowly. His Trig is responding amazingly though.

A lot of my heros together in mind and body. They’re used to the abuse of their peers and most of them were also shocked to discover they had been misinformed back in the day.
I hope the unbelievers get revelation for the sake of their patients.
