So grateful that I found this for my meal prep! I have an autoimmune disease which makes it hard for me to cook because I'm in constant pain and this I can do! Thank you so much!!!
So glad to help!
So thankful that I found this method ! Adding this to my meal prep for today !!
So glad to help!
WOW!!! So glad I found this channel!!! I have a vegan relative this is perfect to have in the freezerj for a quick go to meal when needed. This also is a great way to use up all the veggies- I hate having to throw out half used bags of carrots or dried up onions I forgot about or didn't need.
So visually pleasing! Thank you!
Will watch again. I was making vegan pancakes and thought I could multitask, but this video doesn’t have a voice so I just grooved out the awesome chill beats. 😎 while making vegan pancakes. This looks awesome BTW (watching the end while I comment.) 420☮️💟
I love this haha
These look soo delish, I'll be storing all of these for future use, thank you for the post.
So glad you liked it!
What an amazing idea. Will definitely be trying out some of these. Thanks so much for sharing.

These are fantastic and so simple. Thank you!!!

Thrifty Acorns Thank you!! More recipes coming soon!!!
Thank you for so many different recipes for soups and stews -they all look delicious even though I’m not vegan but I love vegetables!
You are so welcome!
AMAZING IDEA!!!!
Thank you!
This was so organized and easy to follow, and love the ebook with the shopping list! New sub here.
Thank you!!
I just prepared all of these for when baby comes next week! I noticed that in the ebook the sweet potatoes and lemons are missing from the shopping list. Also it'll say to use a bag of carrots or other veggies but often they come in different sizes. Would you please specify in volume or weight in the future? Thank you so much for offering this free resource!
Are you seriously that immature and stupid? Why don't you figure it out yourself.
Thank you, so much! These are great ideas, I wish I had them when I started my plant based journey! Subscribing :)
Maria do Carmo Sarmento I am so glad you enjoy them! Stay tuned for more!
@@Nicole_Eats_Plants have you tried these on the Instantpot? I’d love to make them on mine but I’m not sure about the cooking times...
@@mariadocarmosarmento9487 I’m actually terrified of the instant pot and I don’t even have one! lol
I would say your best bet is to look up the cooking times for dried lentils for all of the recipes with lentils. The black bean soup probably doesn’t need much time at all. If you attempt any let me know what you find out!
More comments: I added peanut butter and lime to our portions of the African stew and it was sooo good. Plus I think we got about 8 servings out of it.
That’s such a good idea!! Yea it makes a ton of food!!
@1:31 Lemon Lentil Stew. Gonna try that!
Thanks!
Thank you for the video 😄
Will look at more on your channel and subscribe 👍
Thanks so much!
Thank you
Thanks for sharing and definitely gonna try these out. How long is it recommended to keep in the freezer? Weeks? Months? Thanks!
I’ve kept these in the freezer for months before and they were fine, since there isn’t any meat or dairy in there I trust them to stay a little longer. You can always double the freezer bags if you want to make sure they don’t get freezer burn!
Awesome
Vegan freezer meals: *Fills up bags full of veggies* 😂😂😂
In all seriousness...these look awesome! Definitely gonna try the black bean soup!
🤣 Too funny! And people think being vegan is super complicated!
Do you add any liquid when you cook in the crockpot? What size crockpot do your recipes work for?
Yes I add water to all of these recipes, I usually just add enough water to cover all the ingredients. These recipes would work for a 4-6qt crockpot. You may need to double them if you have a larger crockpot.
Thank you for these.
What size freezer bag do you use, what is the make/brand and how may servings are please?
I use the Amazon brand solimo gallon size bags!
The servings depend on portion size honestly, but I would say anywhere from 6-8 servings
Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate your openness x
Yummmmy, can these be made in the instant pot? Any tips if I try?
Lydia Fritzsche I’m sure they can! I’m scared to use an instant pot haha so I haven’t tried, but I’m sure if you look at the cooking time for lentils that would do the trick!
My pressure cooker has a menu option for 'slow cooking' so that essentially means it becomes a slow cooker built in, so I would cook for a bit less than the suggested cooking time on that menu option and see how you go. Good luck! :)
❤❤❤
AWESOME IDEA! But I cant find the link for the download.
www.payhip.com/nicoleeatsplants You can download all of my freebies there!
Can I do these in the instant pot using the pressure cooker instead of slow cook? If so, how much time and how much water?
I’m sure you can, I’m not sure exactly how much water or how long because I’ve never had an instapot before, but I would look up the time for the ingredient that takes the longest to cook and water recommendations for dried beans and such. I hope that helps!
HI Nicole I'm making the black bean soup today skipped the freezing part. Hope it comes out I think it will guess the onions provide water
I just made it the other day without freezing and it turned out fine! I think I noted in the ebook download to add enough water to cover the beans, that will give it the soupy consistency. I also blend half of the mixture once it’s cooked to make it extra creamy! Enjoy!
@@Nicole_Eats_Plants yeah the recipe didn't say add water had me confused
Good catch! I’ll have to fix that!
@@Nicole_Eats_Plants I added some water it smelled so good before that like vegan hash so I served it over organic turmeric and organic paprika rice I added a small amount of vegan butter to it. I want to shout from the roof tops how good it is. I added Costco garlic whatever 100% garlic I saw in the video garlic but not on the recipe.
I’m so glad you liked it! I have to admit I’m a little addicted to it as well! Hahah
What size baggies did you use
Gallon size freezer bags
How do you fit those frozen squares into a round crockpot?
CJ Blythe You should thaw these meals in the refrigerator for a few hours before planning to put them into the crockpot 😀
What size are the bags of.veggies? 16 oz?
Yes! But you can use more or less depending on your family size.
Even the downloaded book doesn’t say how much water.. 4 cups, 6? Makes a huge difference especially with lentils or not. Did I miss it?
Hi! I personally never measure my water when it comes to crockpot meals. The ratio is usually 1 part lentils 3 parts water. If you aren’t adding the lentils to a recipe you won’t need as much water. Red lentils absorb the liquid and almost dissolve, whereas brown lentils use the water to plump. Some people like their soups thinner or thicker, so it’s really personal preference. You can look at the recommendations on the back of the bag of lentils you use, just keep in mind the instructions for brown lentils would assume you’re draining the cooking liquid. I hope that helps!
What brand of veggie broth powder do you use?
I linked it in the description, I get it on Amazon it’s called Orpington Farms Vegan Broth Base, they have a bunch of flavors!
Already cooked carrots will be mush after cooking for hours in crockpot.
CJ Blythe All the veggies hold up quite well. Aside from the frozen carrots which are usually just blanched before they are frozen, all of the other veggies I add are usually in their raw form!
How important is the thaw overnight part? That throws the whole thing off for me
I don’t personally remember to thaw overnight, I usually take it out when I wake up in the morning and leave it on the counter for an hour or two until I can get it out of the bag and into the crockpot, even if it’s still frozen. There are some FDA recommendations about thawing food safely but since these are plant based I loosely follow those. Another tip is to freeze the bags in the crockpot so they become circular so they can be popped in frozen!
Do you rinse your legumes first?
You can rinse them and pick through for any rocks or such
The African Stew recipe says 2 tbsp of all the spices...is that supposed to be 2 tsp? I actually made it with 2 tablespoons of all of them so wish me luck it's in the crock pot now :)
I usually add a lot of spices so I use 2TBSP, with that amount of lentils and water it seems to need the spices
@@Nicole_Eats_Plants Ok good i thought maybe it was supposed to be tsp and i screwed up as the video didn't see to have that much. I love a lot of spice so I'm looking forward to tonight thanks so much!
Silly questions- how many serves (2?) And how long to cook?
Not silly at all, most of these serve at least 6. Once the lentils and dried beans cook up you would be surprised how much it makes. I usually cook mine on low for 6-8 hours, but they would probably take even less time on high.
@@Nicole_Eats_Plants thank you!
Could raw carrots and sweet potatoes be used instead of frozen?
Raw carrots definitely, the sweet potatoes would need to be blanched or steamed first because potatoes have a tendency to oxidize once peeled, so they would probably get brown and not look too appetizing if you threw them in the bag raw. If you’re just making in for the crockpot that same day then you could use the raw sweet potatoes!
Thanks! Looking forward to trying these out with my family. Will be using deli tubs to freeze and experimenting with IP. ☺️
How many servings will each recipe make?
About 6-8 servings per recipe
Nicole Eats Plants thanks going to give the Lemon Lentil stew a go tomorrow
Sean That one is yummy served over rice!
Personally, I would sort and wash any lentils or dry beans before adding them to the recipe. Safety first!
Yes I know! I was rushing and pregnancy brain got the best of me when I made these 😬
Whenever I put raw onions in the slow cooker, it has a horrible taste. Anyone else experience this?
Rekkha R I haven’t experienced that, but I could recommend that you can always cook all of the onions in one big batch first and then add the cooked onions to the freezer bags once they are cooled!
Am I the only one who doesn't like beans that have been frozen? It totally changes the texture of them. I will freeze all the other ingredients and then add the beans before cooking.
Yup that works!
Not much variety in the ingredients
Yes, that makes it easier to buy in bulk, prevent food waste and save money on groceries. It shows the versatility of simple ingredients.
@@Nicole_Eats_Plants I see your point. I guess I prefer more variety.
African stew? I thought curry and garam masala originated in india....? What country in Africa are you talking about? That's like saying North American stew lol...
Other than that, thanks for the recipes!
It’s based off of a west African peanut stew recipe. There are many recipes that have similar spices as you can see I’ll link one for you www.juliapaddison.com/blog/spicy-african-peanut-stew

Thank you! I can't wait to try these recipes :)
nice meal prep, but PLEASE, i beg you, get rid of the loud repetitive 'music'......i couldnt watch!
I didn’t mind it. But I like this type of music.
Agreed , too noisy, not calming
The music is good BUT the tapping NO
Everything is written out on the video so you can watch it while muted! Enjoy!
🤍⛅️💗👋 HI Thank You , those recipes look really Good. I like the Carrot added to the Split Pea Soup. The Lemon Lentil looks very delicious. And Im guessing to add Peanut Butter to the African Soup also in the ebook ? 🤍🩷
