I’m only 3 minutes in and I need to stop to recognize and praise Marc’s ability to capture, organize, edit, and present some of the most epic B-roll scenes I’ve ever seen. The level of vision, forethought, and memory it takes to comb through hundreds of hours of footage is admiring. Well done, Marc, well done
Great video! Any chance to do a video interviewing Tory, Carson and Caleb about their growing up with full time RV experience? Looking back, what skills did they learn? What did they enjoy most? What did they dislike most? Would they do anything differently? Thanks!
@@KeepYourDaydream and what they know vs their peers... I find that we have taught our girls many things, because of our travels, that their peers were never taught.
Go back and watch from the beginning, awesome awesome I’ve been watching KYD a couple years now so I went back from the beginning to catch the kids when they were little.
The Smokies were my neck of the woods for a long time. I had to move away nine months ago. I miss that area so much. And I remember you saying you really liked Asheville he will probably go back. Since you like to ride bikes Cades Cove also has a bicycle only day check it out. Five years ago I had horses so I’ve been all through there on horseback!
We Just wrapped a 2 week England and Scotland trip yesterday !!! As much as a i love North America for scenery. The United KIngdom just crushes us with their History. Saw both the Queens Jewels in London also saw the Queen of Scotland's Jewels, Tower of London, Natural history museum, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, York Minster, Beverley Minster, Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Edinburgh Castle, Hadrians Wall toured Roman settlements in York followed by Viking Settlements. Walked on the graves of Knights from 0ver a 1000 years ago. Traveled by train and Air and walked over 60 miles in 2 weeks. Time to relax for a few weeks, my feet are in tatters!!!!
I'm disabled and on disability. I will never get to go to the places in your videos. I live vicariously threw you and your videos. Thanks for the videos keep up the good work.
Yellowstone is the #1 by any metric... I spent 8 days hiking around the park, slowing down and doing it all is worth it. I could go on and on about all the amazing stuff to see, but in reality, no words can do it justice, spending a week doing every last corner (if you enjoy nature) is something people will never regret.
KYD, if you go back to the Smokies, nearby is the Cherohala Skyway, just south of the Smokies park, an amazingly scenic drive across the TN and NC mountains. Along the Skyway is nice hike to Huckleberry Knob, which National Geographic has named as the best unspoiled view east of the Rocky Mountains.
We loved this video so much. We have fallen in love with the National Parks. This year is my daughter’s 4th grade year and the National Parks Foundation issues free National Park passes to families with 4th graders. It might be a fun tip to share with your audience. We have decided that each of our children’s 4th grade years we will do a big NP trip and she has chosen Florida NPs this year. We can’t wait to follow along this season with y’all!!
When you say 4th grade year, is that summer 3rd to 4th grade? Or 4th to 5th grade? My son is 3rd to 4th grade, but this summer is RVing to Florida for Disney. We usually do National parks. We live in Wyoming so for us that means Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Sometimes Rocky Mountain National Park. Next year we will be back to Yellowstone and then Glacier.
My personal favorite is Sequoia Nation Park, mostly due to my deep affinity with the Giant Sequoias, but also because the park has played such an influential roll in my life across a good part of my life. I was fortunate to work at the park the summer I was 19-20 (1974) and living under those magnificent trees 24/7 for 6 months totally changed the way I perceived plant life of all kinds, a deep revelation for me that has stayed with me to this day.
We retired last year (early) and have been RVing going on 2 years now and have completed about 5 of the 63 last summer, this summer we are doing 14 of them. Next summer we are doing Alaska. Just got back from Smoky Mountain National Park and had a blast. We love your videos and always have an eye out looking for KYD on the road. Thanks for your spectacular videos. Maybe we'll bump into each other someday. Also love that you are donating to Team Rubicon. We are both vets and have a few friends that volunteer for Team Rubicon.
We just got home from 5 days at Capital Reef NP. Some tips if you go. The pies at the Gifford House are really that good but get there early. On busy days they sell out in two hours. All the trails along highway 24 and the scenic drive are very busy. You have to be there early or late at any of them to get a parking spot. There are 2 canyon hikes in the park where you will have the hike all to yourself. Surprise Canyon and Headquarters Canyon are fantastic hikes, as good as any in the park but zero crowds. We did both and we were the only car at each trailhead. Lastly, have dinner at Hunt & Gather. You will need reservations but it one of the best restaurants you will ever eat at. Seriously.
Love you guys! Thank you for this video, great timing as I’m taking my 4 grandkids (ages 8-16) on a National Park Tour leaving in 4 weeks! We live in Alaska…flying into Denver and then taking 10 days of driving to see 8 National Parks and Monuments! Highlights are Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Devils Tower, Yellowstone and the Tetons. We are ALL so excited! Watch your videos over and over and over, so inspiring. Thank you, thank you!
Great Smoky Mountains NP: on Wednesdays between May and September, the Cades Cove Loop Road is closed to motor vehicles, so you have the entire 11-mile loop open only to bicycles and hikers. Especially nice if you camp at the Cades Cove Campground, so you can just get on your bike at your camper and ride the loop.
Yosemite absolutely blew my mind. I'm in Washington. I can't wait for you to see Hurricane Ridge. Also go see the Hoh Rainforest and Sol duc hot springs resort. After hiking, if needed order you burgers/food, then go take your shower and the food will be ready when you get done. Some amazing hiking at Sunrise, Rainier. Go down to Shadow Lake slightly southwest of the parking lot, then head up to the Fremont fire lookout. This will take all day. There and back. Absolutely phenomenal!!! One of my favorite things I gave done. And I've traveled the planet a fair bit.
What a great refresher to our favorites! While you’re on your way to Shenandoah National Park, try to drive some or all of the Blue Ridge Parkway. 469 miles, no stoplights ! It’s an absolutely beautiful drive. Many gorgeous, well marked overlooks. Also, on your trip out to Washington State, try to see Leavenworth, Washington. Beautiful, mountain village
Love Love Love the National Parks! Really love the GyPSy Guides for what National Parks are covered. You set it to play as you drive through the park and on the way to and from the parks (must download before losing signal). Lots of tips, stories, history and so much to learn!
Great lists! Capitol Reef is my favorite of the big 5, it's a more intimate experience. The Capitol Gorge and Tanks trail was really meaningful, realizing this hiking path, hacked out by pioneers in 1884, was the only way into the canyon for wagons and vehicles. Early travelers etched their names into the sandstone walls. Not an intra-park drive, but between Bryce and Capitol Reef, Scenic Byway 12 is INCREDIBLE. We were lucky enough to drive it in the fall as the aspens changed, oh, my.
After 18 years of RV travel, we just sit back and watch your family on the Big Screen OLED Smart TV, every episode. I always get the Summer Shirts for my Special Needs daughters to wear as we go to local places.
Really enjoy see you and the family. Watching them grow into wonderful adults. Hey such an awesome summer planned. My husband and I bicycled Cades Cove. Look for the special times to do that. No cars. Back in 2004 we traveled the states, Alaska too, made it to 21 state parks in 5 months. Before social media. I kept a journal and took over 3000 pictures. Thank you for a loving walk down memory lane 💝 God bless your family. See you on the trail.
Love all the info! I'll keep a look out for a meet up when you come to WA. You'll love the Olympics and Mt. Rainier. I live in an area I get to see Mt. Rainier pretty much daily and the Olympics on a clear sunny day. WA has some beautiful places to visit. From the ocean to the dessert to the mountains, lakes and rivers, so fun to explore!
Our National Parks are truly treasures. Such insight of our forefathers to preserve these lands for future generations to cherish & enjoy. Great Video, guys!
Although I have never commented before, I am a long-time viewer and I absolutely love your videos and value your insight into and experience of these places to visit and explore. Your advice is always bang on and I look forward to each and every episode. While I have travelled to several of the US national parks you mentioned in the past (and wholeheartedly agree with your assessments of each), there are others I hope to explore in the near future as a Canadian preparing for full-time RV life. I hope one day are paths will cross!
Are you going to hit the Canadian National Parks? We did as many as we could in our epic 2016 cross-continent camping trip. Just don’t loose the tag! And sign it! Ours worked its way out of my Hubs rear jean pocket while we were looking through the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit on Cape Breton Island…it was found in the building thankfully.
Looking forward to this years adventure. I will say this I am so jealous of Tory's hair as love the color. So awesome seeing the boys jumping into the water. I do believe a saw a smaller Charlie. I just love that dog. So please give him a hug from me. So much fun to watch and thanks. Love y'all
There IS NOT a KYD I haven’t seen!!! And……THIS is the best one EVER!!! I LOOOOOOOOVE the extended length…..the only thing better than KYD is MORE KYD!!!! Thanks Marc and Trish! My wife, 3 boys, and I are PROUD to be KYD insiders!!!! Keep keepin’ your daydream!!!
This is definitely on my list of favorite KYD videos, ever! What fun your family has had at all these great parks! I am blessed to live in a town with Olympic NP in our backyard, “where the Olympics meet the sea”. You have a big treat in store! Thanks for the Top 10 review.
I have to say your recommendation “Your Guide to the National Parks” is AWESOME!! I got mine yesterday & love it. Over a 10-15 years I have been to 33 NPs. Thank you for this great recommendation. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest, as soon as gas prices go down.
Thanks for all the great info as always! We are headed to Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon in June. It will be our longest road trip since buying our first TT last year. All of the major stuff is all planned out and reservations have been made, now it is time to start really diving in and finding all of the offbeat and “spectacular” spots and hikes to visit while we are there. The “ask the locals” advise is great too. Can’t wait! Thanks again Trish and Marc! Love watching your channel!
When in Gatlinburg turn left at traffic light 6 and follow the road up to Roaring Forks Nature Trail. Wildlife, hikes and some old cabins along with waterfalls. Happy Summer everyone!
I totally love the Western National Parks. Zion and Arches are so amazing! Driving out west, there was a moment that we turned a curve in the road and the "purple mountains majesty" were right in front of us. I cried. I did. I cried at the beauty that God created. If you can go West, do it! Zion and Arches are amazing! Great video. Thank you
Great Video! Timing for this video was perfect. We are doing Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons this year so your info was right on time. We did the Grand Canyon and Zion last year so the video brought back great memories. Thanks and Safe Travels!! Happy Easter!!
What a fantastic video! You made my day in that, at age 77, we've been to almost ALL of your top 10 (plus a few) so I feel like our trips were successes and could not agree more with your assessments! AND.. Road to the Sun is out of this world. We went in early spring... when the ice was just melting, and every road had a waterfall. Amazing! All the way around outstanding!
My husband called from Spain just as I started watching. Ugh :) Funny thing happened. He fell asleep on the phone so I hung up and I quickly ordered my new Summer To Remember tshirt ! Olympic National Park: Sol Duc Campground ! It’s just a short walk to the Sol Duc Hot Springs. If you have the two older kids visiting you can rent cute little cabins. There is a small “grocery store” and diner. We really enjoyed hiking around the area. We were on our motorcycle and tent camped but most people were in rv’s. It was not busy. We live in Las Vegas and Zion is our go to. The Watchman’s trail is great. The views are beautiful. I’ll be in Zion soon the hike the Narrows with my son. We rode the motorcycle on the Tail of the Dragon. It was off season and it was amazing! Arcadia National Park was another great ride on the motorcycle. Again, another great episode.
Wow! Just how amazing this video was. This is what I expect every week from you guys. Love it!! Eager to see what’s on this summer adventures. Stay safe and healthy.
We have been to 7 of your top ten. Loved each and every one of them .We’ve had a passport book for about 5 years. I love that it encourages us to stop at National Park sites. Even the presidential sites are interesting and fun. Love seeing everyone getting their stamps.
Loved the video, We stayed in Hanksville, UT and drove to Arches, Canyon lands and were close to Capital reef. There is a grocery in the town and gas and full hookups at Duke's Sliderock RV Park and Cafe. I hear the food is good but we don't t eat out much. I look forward to your summer adventures.
I am SO happy to hear that you love the Great Smokies so much! That’s right in my backyard! Please keep us updated the best you can with when you’re coming back! I would LOVE to cross paths- you’ve been SUCH an inspiration to us in the RV community!
Great video guys and we have been to 35 NP lots of the ones you guys mentioned. We have so many great memories at each of these spots, Thanks for sharing.
This video has got to be one of your best videos yet! Thank you for sharing your Top 10 National Parks (and drives)! Hubby and I are happy to report we have visited most of the parks on your list and have plans for the rest. Awesome video! The family clips, key points you shared about the parks, and background music really made for a great show!
I shouldn’t have watched this before bed. Now I’m way too excited to sleep. We bought a small hybrid camper last fall and have been itching to get out and use it all winter. Your videos have really kept the dream alive during the deep freeze in MN. Thank you!
The bus ride to the end of the trail in Denali is totally worth the time. I saw more wildlife per hour there than any other place I’ve been. They give you time for some short hikes too.
What a great video. Love seeing the kids all together in the video clips. Mark and Trish, your kids are so lucky to have been at the age to really enjoy the RV life with you. What a wonderful way to grow up. Thanks for another great Sunday evening. Happy Easter to your family..
Shenandoah National especially the Blue Rudge Parkway Afton Mountain is home sweet home. Born and raised in Waynesboro. DuPont and GE town then. Hope you enjoyed it.
“Spectacular" video! :) So much valuable info that will definitely help someone to plan and enjoy a great trip(s) to a National Park. The West is just jaw-dropping in its majestic beauty, but when you ended with Dry Tortugas, that really blew me away. That NP is #1 on my life bucket list - ocean, turquoise water and sand, take me away please! Thanks so much for sharing. Safe travels and stay well.
Great "spectacular" video! One of my favorite National Parks is Black Canyon of the Gunnison. I have been there twice and loved it both times. I think part of what I loved was that it wasn't very busy and had some great views.
Nicely done ✅ evaluation everything on favs of National Park(s) to do, to go & to enjoy ‼️. Great ending Tortuga fly over, fly around & land-around -- the Best
It’s nice to see you guys coming to my neck of the woods (Shenandoah Area)! Since you’re going to be out here, you might as well stop at Luray Caverns! These are some super cool caves. A must see on this end if you haven’t before. 🙂
You guys give so much good information and education but you also put a smile on my face at the same time! Well done! Can't wait to see your summer adventures! You guys do a lot of hiking with older kids. I'd love to see some more information and places maybe for younger kids where there's still tons to do or really easy hikes for beginners.
Great video! I love 💕 when you take us on some your earlier videos and your children are small. What great memories you have for your family. It really shows the reason you decided to go full time like you have said all along. If you keep waiting for the perfect time it will never happen. Thank you so much for sharing your memories!! Safe travels 😊🇺🇸
I love love love National Parks!! I'm delighted that you are going to Olympic this year. If you have time, you have to go north and hit Cascades. It is a much less busy park and no less grand. Enjoy and safe travels!!
Loved the video. Thanks so much. We are leaving for Yellowstone/Grand Tetons in a few weeks, and now plan to add Glacier National Park to the trip. It will be our first big adventure since getting our camper last year.
I have been to 38 of the Parks but we decided to "start over" again this year for our UA-cam Channel. We bought a different Passport book than the blue one you have because we wanted to write more and feature more but in each video we show the stamp in the book (along with a nod to KYD...a little redhead that travels along with the passport book) to encourage others to join in the fun! I'm 60 this year, so it's definitely NOT just for kids! Fun seeing your views of places I've been, places we are going soon and places we already have plans to see next year! And, yes, have my S2R list and gonna fill it out with the family this weekend! Making memories is really what it is ALL about! Safe Travels you guys...sending our love and thanks!
After watching your video staying at The Moorings in Belfast, Maine... I booked two trips there and loved each time I stayed and also it was nice to go back to Maine last year. I love your videos every week. Thank You to you both!
Thanks so much for the video. I love the National Parks. Last year we did a cross country trip form Ca to Tenn, up to Ohio and across the northern states. We visited 14 National parks. We just got back from a Central Calif trip to three more, and this June we are traveling north to Olympia and Mt Rainer. I have visited others in my life time like in Hawaii. I have many more to visit. I will enjoy seeing where you go this summer.
So exciting that y'all are headed to the Shenandoah Valley & Skyline drive. That's my home town. It's such a beautiful place! Excited to see y'all's perspective on a place I know and love!
We started in 2013 with our first National Park trip. We've now visited 61 of the 63 and revisited some many times over. Hoping to complete the list by next year. Great video.
My favorite video of your trips to parks. , love ❤️ it. Have been to a few of them .plans are to try get to more parks this year. Thank you for a wonderful time as we revisited your videos as , relating to your trips , Some of the best memories of my life. God bless. Db
Thanks for a great video, brought back memories of parks I've already been to and gives me thoughts on new parks. I've been to the 3 of the 5 in Utah, Zion and Bryce are on the list soon! Always wanted to go the the Great Smoky Mountains NP and might just have to plan a trip soon. Being in Oklahoma everything is so far away so it does take some planning on limited schedules. You mentioned those jaw dropping, awe inspiring places and two places right at the top of my list were the Grand Canyon and Glacier NP. Arches is a close third place and Yellowstone was right there also. But I'm looking forward to being awed by the other places, some on your list, some not. Oh, my wife absolutely loves the NP Passport book. We use it along our route to find new places to get another cancellation stamp and a sticker if available. So much so she had to buy the extra pages for all of the places we seen! Keep doing what you are doing, people like us rely on your adventures for guides, tips, and tricks. Take care, travel safe!
Definitely go back for the hot springs!! We went with our kids and elk came down into the river with us! It was crazy, and a memory we certainly won’t ever forget. 💕
I agree with all you said . We stayed at West Glacier KOA…in a cabin. It was FANTASTIC ! That campground is absolutely beautiful! Happy Easter 🐣 Marc and Trish and family (Charlie too!). 🐰🐇💜👍
Thanks for the video. We just got back from a trip through Utah and hit Zion, Bryce, Arches and Canyonlands. Totally agree they are amazing. Even better Zion and Bryce has some amazing bike paths! We were able to skip the shuttle system in Zion and ride our bikes to the trailheads. Love your videos!
We LOVED Capital Reef,I think it's been understated. The campground we stayed at rented Jeeps. Took a day offroading and exploring in a Jeep. Came back and ended up with a Jeep a few months later. lol
This was great and we started counting how many of your top 10 we had visited. When you do Rainier and the Olympics you also need to go see Mt. St. Helens. Thanks for sharing, you do a great job. Ed
Excited you are going to Shenandoah NP. My stomping grounds. I grew up in the Shenandoah valley in Roanoke VA. We keep saying we are going to go home and take our RV. Can't wait to see that video. Have a great summer and we hope to see you somewhere. PS, watching these videos brings back good memories of watching them when you first posted them. I felt I had been there. Deana
Watching your videos always get me exited to get out and go explore. One question I have you mention snacks and food for hiking. What kind of meals do you bring along?
We have reservations for Cades Cove in July, it has been a dream vacation of ours to go back. On Wednesdays they shut off car access to the loop and its bikes only. We just got the Lectric bikes to take on our travels.

Thank you
Been watching all your videos. You have inspired me to take life by the horns and start exploring this wonderful country we live in!!
Great Video! Timing for this video was perfect. We are doing Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons this year so your info was right on time. We did the Grand Canyon and Zion last year so the video brought back great memories. Thanks and Safe Travels!! Happy Easter!!
Charlie is so adorable. Thanks for the great videos. I miss the kids, just had to say that ❤
Awesome we will be checking out some more National Parks soon. Thanks for sharing.
Spectacular Video! We Love the National Parks! Been to most of them but still have more yet to see!
Huge fan!!! You guys have the coolest music in your videos! ❤️
Thank you guys. Excellent video and we agree w all of your selections!
This was so great to have an in depth must see top 10 Guide of National Parks!
Amazing video! Thank you. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning from your videos. Giving us more ideas and places we want to go visit.
Thank Mark & Trish love having you guys.
Added a bunch to my bucket list now that we are full time. Thank you
You guys need to come to Leavenworth Wa in the fall it’s stunning here ❤️
Just saw the KYD Bluebird Camper driving down M 12!!! I can’t believe we saw it!! Looks great!!
We totally enjoyed this video. Thank you for all your hard work. You two are awesome. Hopefully we will see you on the road! True fans.
Fabulous job on the music! Y’all are rocking it!
Love the shirts for the summer and loved the video!!!! Looking forward to the next epic summer to remember. 🤗
Another great video, I'm definitely getting that passport book, great idea!
We need to spend more time in CO and ID for sure.
Nicely done ✅ evaluation everything on favs of National Park(s) to do, to go & to enjoy ‼️. Great ending Tortuga fly over, fly around & land-around -- the Best
The immature idiots in the back round at 12:49 are something else!!!!!
Love seeing all the National Parks but loved seeing the kids when they were younger even more!
btw at 12:50 someone yells in the background "f your video". Might edit that out.
Another great video as usual guy's. Awesome job. An Hello from Georgia.
This is the best video yet! Thanks for sharing. It is highly inspirational!
It’s nice to see you guys coming to my neck of the woods (Shenandoah Area)! Since you’re going to be out here, you might as well stop at Luray Caverns! These are some super cool caves. A must see on this end if you haven’t before. 🙂
Great video! (Estes *Park*)
What a lifetime of wonderful memories and experiences you’ve made for your family.
Lol. Yes, how could we have forgotten!?! We were corrected on that so many times last year.
Loved this video. You shared some of my favorites and shared some I want to see.
We (me, my wife and 4 kids) are so excited for this coming season.
We started in 2013 with our first National Park trip. We've now visited 61 of the 63 and revisited some many times over. Hoping to complete the list by next year. Great video.
Wow!!
I will definitely use your vid as a future reference for a vacation plan! Thank you ! Safe travels!
We are in Moab now. Arches yesterday! Arches tomorrow! (timed entry reservations required. Love Moab Rim Campark.
I love that Mark has 10 top 5 hikes. This video was spectacular! Enjoy you guys!!
My favorite video of your trips to parks. , love ❤️ it. Have been to a few of them .plans are to try get to more parks this year. Thank you for a wonderful time as we revisited your videos as , relating to your trips ,
Some of the best memories of my life. God bless.
Came back and ended up with a Jeep a few months later. lol
It's an under rated park for sure
This was great and we started counting how many of your top 10 we had visited. When you do Rainier and the Olympics you also need to go see Mt. St. Helens. Thanks for sharing, you do a great job. Ed
Excited you are going to Shenandoah NP. My stomping grounds. I grew up in the Shenandoah valley in Roanoke VA. We keep saying we are going to go home and take our RV. Can't wait to see that video. Have a great summer and we hope to see you somewhere. PS, watching these videos brings back good memories of watching them when you first posted them. I felt I had been there. Deana
That was amazing view! We just got back to Navajo Lake, our second time traveling. And it was a good experience 😌 ☺ nice seeing you guys!
We saw Denali on the bus in all its glory. There wasn’t a cloud on the mountain. I was so excited and still can’t believe our luck.Amazing
Watching your videos always get me exited to get out and go explore. One question I have you mention snacks and food for hiking. What kind of meals do you bring along?
Thank you. I can truly appreciate your work.
Awesome editing guys . Great video and inspirational to us all
Great video, I've been in 5 out of 10. Haven't seen enough of these yet. Maybe more next time.
You guys gave me more reasons to go back, THANKS !
We have reservations for Cades Cove in July, it has been a dream vacation of ours to go back. On Wednesdays they shut off car access to the loop and its bikes only. We just got the Lectric bikes to take on our travels.
Last summer, I spent 13 weeks on the road in my truck camper, 15k miles, 25 states, 17 National Parks and over a dozen state parks. Awesome!!!!
Amazing!
I lived in Maryland in the 70s and two of my favorite places to go was the Skyline Drive & the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of hiking there as well.
