Dear Mr. Gary, your role in the Route 66 travel has been a "giant" impact to everything that has happened. Please continue your earthly presence to all of us. And, double sided tape is a good thing to keep under your feet.
Marc, as a nurse and wife, the defibrillator is the sweetest most loving gift you can give your wife! I loved you guys before, but soooooooo much more now! Lifetime KYD’er!
I'm really surprised by the positive comments and reactions to your Route 66 series. All the shows appeared to me to be chaotic and stressful. In spite of your fun loving attitudes, it appeared to me as though you did not enjoy the experience. I'd be interesting to hear your reactions to my comments. Looking forward to watching future episodes. Looks like Airstream picked up on your ideas with the introduction of the Airstream "eStream" all electric prototype. Looks like the future of the RV industry to me. Great job of photography and editing. My wife and I will continue to watch every Sunday evening, thanks for taking us along.
Best season …….. EVER👍. The sequence with Gary falling had me laughing out loud. You should keep him as a feature in every episode. Kind of a member of the traveling family. Thank you for such wonderful entertainment. Love you guys and can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
Can’t say I am very impressed with Route 66. But then that never mattered. You are what we watch these videos for. Your smiles, your energy, your sense of wonder and adventure. It’s always there week after week. You are ambassadors of goodwill. America needs more of people like you. Thank you all for doing what you do. Looking forward to your next adventure without the Bird. 😁
The “66” Singer was definitely into his Satchmo vibe and the Sitar (?) was just a nice change of pace. Very California Counter-Culture! I can’t wait to see you back in my beloved Michigan and on the road again!! Buuut you didn’t tell us of the plans for the “Bird”!!
We have really enjoyed be along the Route 66 journey with you and your family. Ruth and I are on day 112 of being full time on the road and will hope to travel on some or all of this same Route. We know its a lot of work to put together these videos and we greatly appreciate them. We hope to some day go to one of your meet ups. Thanks again and be safe on the road.
I work for Philips. I’ve been with them for 20 years. Thanks for showing our AED - it’s an awesome product. I think it’s important to have one if anyone in your family has a heart condition. We have ours.
Great video yet again! I thought of a tip that I learned form a trucker that might help you all stay centered in your lane better. While driving, steer so that your right foot is in the center of the lane or on top of the darker grey section of the lane. The road is lighter where everyone's tires go the most making the center darker in appearance when traveling at speed, say above 45 MPH. Even though you and your right foot are on the left side of the vehicle in actuality, your perspective/perception of using your right foot as a guide will help keep you centered in the lane which is easier and a lot safer than constantly looking at your mirrors. If you find that you are still too close to one side, just adjust where you aim your foot, such as the left half of the darker grey section. Hope that helps someone!
The Jet engine startup sync had me 🤣! And, that looked like Malibu Canyon Rd down to PCH based on those scenic views! 🚌🏝🌅 I'm stoked I followed along for this ride bc y'all made it really fun!
The Hat...the first location was on Valley Blvd in Alhambra, CA. As a teenager, I frequently ate there in the early 1950s. The world's best pastrami sandwiches. Kudos to you for adding an AED to your on-the-road first aid equipment. As 30 year Los Angeles County Firefighter Paramedic I can attest to its value in an emergency. Thanks for the incredible Route 66 adventure.
Well, Gary was kind of a slacker. laying down on the job a lot. Charlie is clearly a "Bird" Dog, and you guys made me want to do Route "66". Thanks for taking us along.
Hi Y'all. Loved the series, and our family has been on parts and pieces of the American Road, but not the entire length. Thank you for showing us so many fun ideas to explore while on it. Donkeys are hard workers and all, but you did not mention the World-renown Kingman Turquoise mine - sniff. Thank you so much. Banh, Banh!
Roots make things grow is so true. Our family takes one day off a week for our sabbath and it is a life changer to completely disconnect from life's journey. Route 66 is a great journey and you guys did an excellent job showing it. Julie and I love your family and all your adventures. Thanks for sharing. Stay Safe. Peace
27 years on the National Ski Patrol, 18 years as the EMT for the Tahoe Music Festival and medic for the Truckee Search and Rescue team. The Heartstart, first put on the market by Hewlett Packard. is amazing. Just replace the battery every two years as they don't age well if they are exposed to a wide variety of temperatures. ALWAYS carry extra pads and replace them every few years as glue on them becomes less effective with time. Best to you all.
Glad you got a Defib, they are defiantly life savers. You should consider also taking a Stop the Bleed class. Since you mention how often you are in remote areas it is important to learn how to stop massive bleeding in an emergency situation. Could save your family or a strangers life.
One day I will stay overnight in one of those teepees! Your Route 66 travel vlog has been fantastic and the finale did not disappoint. Gary GG was a great addition, the soundtrack, the Charlie, the wacky fun, the hits and the misses, the big Bird, the whole package made it a treat to ride along on your adventure.
I just watched this UA-cam video. I just turned 60 and my wife and I have been watching a whole smess of your videos the past few months. We have probably watched a good 30 or 40 of your videos. Thank you for making them! My wife and I plan on hitting the road in a few years to see the country in an RV. This episode showed you packing an AED because of Trish having a heart condition. I had to explore this to see just what Trish may of have and found out that she has the same thing I have, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Yep, we are 1 in 500... Lucky us! Welcome to the club we wish we were never a part of. Good thing is we know we have it so we can take precautions. I have had an ICD (implantable, cardeoverter, defibrillator) implanted since 2009. It's been dormant since it was implanted. Just got my 2nd one put in last August cuz the battery needed to be changed out. I hope Trish is aware of the HCMA and is being treated at a hospital that has been set up as a COE "center of excellence" for HCM. I live in Vermont and go to Massachusetts General in Boston once a year to meet with my cardiologist who is a marathon runner, heat cardiologist on board at the Boston Marathon and is involved in the athletes heart program at Mass Gen. Thank you feeling the need to spew out information on your UA-cam channel about the RV lifestyle. It is very informative and is a great help for me and my wife to decide on the right RV to purchase and more importantly how to live the RV lifestyle. Bill and Kim (Vermont)
I must say. I normally play UA-cam videos and podcasts at 1.5x speed or more and reduced resolution on vids to save time and bandwidth, but I always play the KYD channel at 1x and full rez. It’s just that enjoyable.
Loved the PT-6 start! Your NG and ITT's all looked and sounded good and in the green. Good start! Exceptional ending guys! Just a quick shout out to Kingman, the Desert Diamond Distillery is a fantastic Harvest Host next time you're there.
The AED makes this emergency girl's heart glad (we have one for my Dad). It *almost* makes up for the lack of velcro (and some super glue) for poor Gary 🤣
I loved this season from the start. It was intriguing to see how you guys would pull it off! The Bird made it all happen with Gary as the head travel director. As far as missing those state lines….background music Glen Campbell Wichita Lineman….”I’m just a lineman for the county”. Love KYD for so many reasons ❤️
The hotel that owns the railroad in Williams also has a large rig RV lot, paved, pull thrus with full hookups. We stayed there and it's an easy walk to restaurants, gift shops etc and to the train station
Great finale to your trip. I lived at the Malibu Beach RV Park for a month in 1986 and then moved our family to Malibu and lived at Pepperdine University for 15 years. You brought back so many great memories!
This was a great series! So I am a native Californian from...VENTURA County who now lives in Bloomington Illinois. It was bittersweet watching this because we have so enjoyed experiencing Rte 66 from beginning to end but also Seeing PCH and Mugu Rock. OH!!!! And the pastrami at The Hat! The second go-to place when we go home!!! Best pastrami ever! We are looking forward to the rest of the season and what future adventures you will let us share with you. I know this spring when we go home and are driving from LAX to Oxnard we will be pointing at the campground and the pier and commenting.... KYD was here!
I’m sorry you didn’t like my Victorville. I don’t remember it being a “don’t stop here” place. But, I left years ago. Though it still has a place in my heart. And thank you for the great view of going over Cajon Pass. Brought back sweet memories.
As someone who also has a heart condition I never thought about having an aed on top of the normal med kit that’s awesome! Another wonderful season thanks for all the great videos
Gary desperately needs a command strip. However, he wears that helmet for a reason. Congrats on Episode 300! Loved the turbine sound FX when starting up the bird. 🤣 Safe travels.
Best season ever!!!!! Caleb's "This is what I was born for!" Classic Caleb. And, our grandson, Garett is soooo much like Caleb! I laughed out loud so many times! Thanks guys!
My wife was taking the picture of the States Line billboards as we entered each state. Because there were no pull-offs she had to resort to "Drive-by Flashing". Wasn't a good picture if you hit one of those bumps in the road though. Would be nice if they had pull-offs, maybe even a rest stop, so you could take a "State Line Selfie". Loved your Route 66 series
We were able to stop for most of our province/state lines in 2016. We were in a car so except for the US interstates it was easy to stop. My fave was doing a back road in NE Mass to NY state line & it was parallel to the interstate (we could see it) but as we were on a back road, we just hopped out & shot our selfie.
Did you take route 66 from Kingman to Oatman? A few years back we stopped in Kingman and asked a fellow how the road to Oatman was. He said it's a good road and that he hasn't heard of any problems. We took it with a motor home, talk about white knuckle. The great thing about it was as we were coming into town there was a parking spot available. Really a neat place to see, but probably won't go back.
Not really the content I was expecting from a Route 66 season, but you were working with a lot (and I feel like R66 isn't really your vibe to start), it was a valiant effort! The Bird made it! You all kept your sanity and your sense of humor! Here's to the next season of adventure, so glad for you guys and your channel :)
I so enjoy all of your videos. We are still getting our 98 Safari road worthy once it is done we plan to get it set up in Dewey just outside of Prescott Valley. We will then have two homes one in Maricopa and one in Dewey. Watching your videos made us realize that even though we have traveled all over the world the U.S. has all we need now. Thankyou
Thank you 2 for taking us along with you on your adventures. Your show inspires us to not give up on our dream of living a life traveling. I don't want to sound all emotional but your channel has helped me through one of the hardest periods of my life after losing both of my parents in the same week. I looked forward to each new episode as a escape from reality and get to travel the country with your videos.
Have you ever thought about getting a dash cam? That way if something interesting happens fast, you will always catch it if you can’t scramble to get one your actual cameras out.
Trish and Marc - cool to see the base at Barstow! I work at Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Richmond VA. The Richmond location handles Aviation requirements across all the military services. When you're in the area, we'd love to get you on base, and you can visit our Elk friends!!! Yes, there are really Elk here - DLA bought the land from a family who raised Elk - and they agreed to sell the land on the condition that DLA continue to care for them (and allow them to have babies) forever! Super excited for next season. We love yall!
@@ashleymarks6144 Roger that. Historic pre-WWII streetcar cities like Richmond get overlooked sometimes because they're not your typical "paradise". It really is a special place - plus the James River running right through downtown - amazing. We're choosing to stay here long term!
We absolutely totally loved the 66 tour. I enjoyed watching Fred, my husband, laughing so hard with Gray and his shenanigans. Thank you so much for all the years of great entertainment. Looking forward to next season. Mary💕Fred
Congratulations Guys!!!! Been another great joy to follow y'all for another great season. It's got to be a great feeling to have such a great following of such nice people, never a bad comment on the channel it's such a joy to share these journeys with you all every Sunday!!!! Thanks for taking us all along as always!!!!
my dad used to call those stops we didn't make the "Wooddakuds". We would have stopped if we could have stopped, but due to the time restraints of his vacation time from work as well as the usual length of travel we had to do with four kids, three adults, and a dog in the family vehicle, there was always that one or two sights we didn't get to see. Miss those times and the Wooddakuds.
I drove the original route 66 back in '63 from Amarillo to California on my way to Travis AFB, where I would be stationed for the next 4 years! They had just started building I-40 back then!
I love the idea of adding an AED, my buddy from work that we camp with some had a heart attack at work. luckily quick response saved his life. We have AED units in the break room of all of our yards.
Marc, Trish, we have been watching your weeklies for just over 2 years ago. I must say, the bar is set high on quality, that bodes well for members in the community that enjoy watching RV "Tubes". I will admit to skipping the technical stuff, I think some of the adventure is in what awaits us down the road. Too prepared, maybe. Continue the good work and we expect to hear that NS is in your 2022 plans. You won't be disappointed.
I took 3 kid & 1.5 dogs on a 13 week tour of the western US, with a heart condition. How? One day driving, 2-3 days rest, with hikes & junior ranger programs for the kids while 1.5 & I sat & read. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip of a lifetime. The end of the trail - in my home town, Santa Monica, where I grew up. Mom & Dad are buried there. I can't stop smiling!
As a fellow Wanderlodge owner, with a unit identical to yours, you make me appreciate my Bird more than ever, and are inspiring me to get out there and do Route 66 myself. Thank you for sharing this journey with us!

The sound affects for starting the Bird were awesome!!
I had flashbacks on sitting in the back row of a Northwest Airlines DC9 with that one.
PT-6 was the sound for sure!
Someone had WAY too much fun with the editing of this episode and I'm here for it.
And who knew the old bird sounded like an F-16! Cool! 🤣

Yes! And Gary really needs to meet the tiny hand!
Gary should be done now. He’s a space weirdo with no head. Just saying. End
Can’t say I am very impressed with Route 66. But then that never mattered. You are what we watch these videos for. Your smiles, your energy, your sense of wonder and adventure. You have GOT to let Gary stick around for your future jorneys. Its good humor!
Awesome to see Caleb's first drive of the class A! Good job!
The turbine start sequence made me laugh out loud. Being a former flight nurse I can smell the jet fuel. Nice work.
Loved this sequence with the well-timed audio, especially as the tachometer spooled up!
Yeah, it sounded just like my '94 Geo Metro when I start it up! 😜
Top Gun or Final Countdown? (Admit it. You saw Final Countdown).
We had so much fun "traveling along Rt. 66" with you. You nailed it with the music on this one too!
I'm going to miss these sounds tracks. As an editor, it was a nice break and we don't always get to use tracks like this.

Finally got to watch the whole season!! Loved every minute of it!!

We liked it fine. Just a bad experience with a homeless person. Honestly, the old bus begs for it.
Route 66 has been a blast of a season to watch and I can't wait to see where KYD goes for season 12!! Love yall 3000!
As someone who also has a heart condition I never thought about having an aed on top of the normal med kit that’s awesome! Another wonderful season thanks for all the great videos
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure on the famous Rt 66
Fantastic adventure! Just disappointed we could not hook up in Ventura! See you down the road............ThomyT
Gary desperately needs a command strip. However, he wears that helmet for a reason. Congrats on Episode 300! Loved the turbine sound FX when starting up the bird. 🤣 Safe travels.
the name for those stops.....woulda, coulda, shoulda. As always fantastic video!
Gary falling was hilarious!!!🤣
“Bummeries” you have the memories but it’s a bummer you missed it!
You crack me up with your editing 🥰😅
Love the music :-)
What a great series! Rode into Oatman with a great friend on our Harleys. Got there 8:30am. Not a donkey to be found!
Thanks for stopping by Rancho Cucamonga!

Good call on an AED. Some coworkers used one to save another coworker. Also - get trained!
Poor Gary, I guess your owners never heard of museum tack. Loved when Trish gave you CPR though. Love watching you guys!

@@ashleymarks6144 Roger that. Historic pre-WWII streetcar cities like Richmond get overlooked sometimes because they're not your typical "paradise". It really is a special place - plus the James River running right through downtown - amazing. We're choosing to stay here long term!
I would like a Gary/Charlie refrigerator magnet.😁
The card guy was great!
We absolutely totally loved the 66 tour. I enjoyed watching Fred, my husband, laughing so hard with Gray and his shenanigans. Thank you so much for all the years of great entertainment. Looking forward to next season. Mary💕Fred
Charlie is a sweetheart.
I LOVE that you got the defib just in case for Trish! That’s true love and an awesome idea! Nice move Marc!

You guys have done a great job with the series route 66. Looks like ya all had a great time. Even Gary and Charlie.
Wow! Episode 300!!! Whooda thunk it??? Great work over the years guys!
I love the idea of adding an AED, my buddy from work that we camp with some had a heart attack at work. luckily quick response saved his life. We have AED units in the break room of all of our yards.
Thanks for sharing route 66. We loved it.🤗❤
We LOVE Gary ❤️❤️❤️ and we will miss you. Gary was a great addition to the family.
What a great run and I am sorry to see it end. Every video was awesome!! Gary was a hit!
