This interviewer just so clearly has strong disdain for David and throughout the entire interview just keeps trying to have a “gotcha” moment. Like David was so young and shy right here I feel bad for him being judged so rudely. But ironically, in the end no one remembers the interviewer, and David has basically been immortalized forever in his songs and albums as a musical genius and legend. Pure justice.

When I was 14 I was so obsessed with Bowie and all the looks from the 70s. I tried to be him. Now I am old and the obsession's gone but I still remember how strong that spell was. Back in the 80s there were no interviews like this around ... no internet ... just books with Bowie quotes and fantastic photos. Maybe that made him more enigmatic because you were not over dosed on bowie and had to imagine more about his life .

I don’t understand this at all. My peak interest in Bowie ranged from about November 1973 to May 1974. At that time I was (often) immersed in his records, and I would brood over his lyrics, occasionally almost live in them and the stories the lyrics told, but I never thought much about the man himself. This is also how I felt about the science-fiction I read between 1966 and 1969 or so. I was intensely focused on the stories, but wasn’t especially curious about Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Fred Hoyle, or Isaac Asimov themselves.

Hi ! I'm a big fan of David Bowie, and I've read in an article, in a guitar magazine, that first, when the rythmic must be really well played, or when it takes an important part of the song, he doesn't let it to anybody but him. But I've been amazed by something else : he had played, in the album "Low" : Harpe, Tape Horn, Bass strings, Saxophone, Violoncelle, Tape, Guitare, Pump Bass, Harmonica, Piano, Percussion, Chamberlain, Vibraphone, Xylophone, and Ambient Sound. It was written that "he is a genious of Pop-Rock music, and he is the unkonw great acoustic guitar player". I took care of that in 3 DVDs that I got, with 5 shows and interviews or story of his life, and they are right, he's playing 12-strings guitar (and 6 strings too, for sure) really well. And I've noticed not only that, cause in the show he gave for his 50th Birthday in 1997, like in another video where he's playing with Adrian Belew, he's playing electric guitar very well. A very passionating artist !!! CIAO BYE !

David Bowie is an original.... I was 9 years old at the time of this interview. He made a very strong impression on me as a child. I was scared of him, but drawn to him at the same time. Lol. Then i got older, started listening to his music and fell in love with it. He's a beautiful man, then and now.

He was a very intelligent, creative, and thoughtful man. He will be missed, but he gave us a lot to remember him by. At least he was not taken from us while still young, like so many other of the brightest stars of rock and roll.

Bowie was an incredibly intelligent individual & so personally insightful in his younger eccentric years with brilliant forms of expression.

David Bowie is and was unique - many people have tried extremely hard to follow, mimic, even out do but failed miserably. There will never be another David Bowie - a true, unique, musical genius - and he's still giving it large!!!

I was lucky enough to see him on his small club tour back in the 1990s. The show was in South Florida and turned out to be the longest show of the tour, around four hours. He wore audience out (in a good way) and looked like he could have done four more hours!

when i watch his interviews, i can only feel how "disconnected" he was to that time... does that make sense? i feel like he's just like Aurora, but nowdays there's more people, young and old, like them... that just makes me so happy. People probably cant even see how precious those people are
