    As many have said: Sublime. I put your playlist up and listen to it while sleeping. The music actually enters the dream, had some lucid dreams of beating drums and stuff only to wake up to your playlist still playing.

    Excelente: el espíritu modular y la pasión por el sonido! Me gusta que los synths no son instrumentalizados.

      Caspar Hesselager I love the why this monster sounds. I am tempted to buy this today. I have never used modular synthesis before. Is it really hard to learn? Hard to add modules to this, etc...? If I want to add drum sounds for live performance, could I create that within this system or would it be better to get a drum machine?

      Hi Adrian, thanks, it's a tricky question. The more time you put into understanding and experimenting with each module, the more the system will make sense as a whole for you. The danger of buying a whole system from the start is getting overwhelmed by it, and there's a learning curve for sure. But there's also a million different ways to put together a system if you configure one yourself and it's also almost impossible to get that configuration 'right' from the beginning. If you have a general understanding of synths, then I wouldn't say it's hard per se, but I recommend reading through some of the 'getting started' topics on muffwiggler.com. And watching all the Make Noise videos over and over again :) About the live performance, you could use it for whatever you want I guess, and it will certainly make percussion and drum sounds, but you could end up with a very complicated and expensive way of doing something that would be very easy with a dedicated drum machine. Good luck and thanks again for listening!

      Caspar Hesselager Thank you for all that. If it’s more expensive, why do it? I imagine there’s something there you can’t get on regular drum machine, synth keyboard,etc setup... This is the ultimate synth wizardry. And you , Sir, are a true Sorcerer. Does the verb, or can, affect the rest of the shared system? What I mean is, can all of the sounds that come out of this be reverbed constantly....like a reverb pedal that’s always engaged.

      Saw this same piece on PowWow, and it was great. Glad to get a closer look at the patch. I don’t have the BG system myself but most of the components, and then use a couple Cwejman VCO’s and a wave folder to mimic the DPO. You are getting an enormous amount out of this system. I live in Malmö so if you plan to play live again would be glad to hear about it.

    How long did it take you to master the Make Noise Shared System?

    • @CasparHesselager
      @CasparHesselager  6 років тому +1

      Hi Stan, thanks for that, though I wouldn't say I mastered it, and I'm not sure I want to, actually! ;) The great thing about it is that it'll constantly surprise you, and send you off on a new path, even though you might feel like you know every part of it. I got mine a year ago, but I'd owned Make Noise stuff before that and have a lot of experience with other synths, which definitely helps. Thanks for listening, best, C

      Thank you for your reply Caspar! I also have a lot of experience with synths and I'm considering( for a long time now ) to jump into the modular world. Instead of starting slow, I'm considering a Shared System. I think the patches you make are really beautifull and musical. I do a lot of tv and film work ( trying to get into games ) and I feel the Shared Sys would be great for textures and ambient stuff and also for getting away from the computer screen for once! These are great videos to see how you patch and learn from it, thanks! Just need to save up a little more...:-)

    Your work is fantastic and inspiring.. Out of curiosity, why the B&G and not an Easel? Watching your work makes me want to keep my B&G..

    • @CasparHesselager
      @CasparHesselager  6 років тому

      nikarga thank you! I’ve never really tried the Easel although my friend has one and gets awesome sounds from it (Kristian Westergaard, check out his channel). I love the MN take on the west coast tradition, but it’s also kind of a coincidence. I started out with a DPO and Maths and some other eurorack modules, because I just wanted to throw myself a curveball, and get something that felt very far from all my other synths. But at some point I felt it just made sense to sell what I had assembled and go for a complete SS instead. I have another euro system, and I guess the flexibility of that format in general just appeals to me. Thanks for listening:)

      Caspar Hesselager Interesting - thank you for sharing. Yes, he is great on the Easel, some great sounds coming out of Denmark. 👍🏼
