Yes. Because on a stock block daily driven car, he should max out the blower and break his shit. You go bigger for a couple of reasons. Future-proofing, so when you do decide to build the motor or you're willing to break it, the capacity is there for more boost. Headroom, so you can make the power you want without maxing out the rpms on the blower, creating heat etc. Apart from shop cars, very, VERY few of these guys go all out on their cars. Why in God's name would they? They're out to enjoy themselves, there's no need to go crazy.

But with any mods there are pros and cons, and you ultimately have to make a choice. He made his, he had his reasons, I understand his possible reasoning, but I wouldn't bat an eyelid if he decided to go another way because, well, choices.

Will Beck hellcat comes with a 2.9 liter blower. These are bigger. More air/fuel. More power at same boost levels.

Positive displacement would be those # you asked about. There’s a screw & roots positive displacement blowers. There are centrifugal superchargers 🐌.
Whipple has various supercharger sizes like Kenne Belle does.
