- Southern Ontario (Canada) field trip collecting crystals. I repeat in the video that the best undamaged ones are found in clay filled vugs (holes in the host rock).

Good day in the Rocks, nice find too. Cleaned up nice, great color. Place looks like a rock slide waiting to happen n a couple places, adds to the excitement 😁👍 good find n vid
You got that right!
Wow, that large cluster is beautiful! I love your passion for crystals. Thanks for taking us along on your trip to the mine.
You are so welcome
Vuggin' beautiful crystals!
Good one. LOL
You can't go wrong when you start the day with Tims. Being from the middle of the east coast of the US I only get to enjoy that when I travel north. Great video as usual. That large crystal section is amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Couldn't agree more!
“Dog Tooth Calcite”…..Interesting🧐 Great video and finds! Keep up the nice work…Good luck on your next adventure🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
What a really special place. Lots of crystals for the trainrd eye. Thanks for cleaning some off and giving us a glymps at the hidden gems. Keep the goodness coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
When I was a kid I spent a lot of time in a small creek behind our house. There was a section of one bank about 10 feet long that was blue clay, and I pulled some beautiful, but very small, quartz crystals out of there. Just downstream there was another clay pocket, this one underneath the rocks that made up the bank on that side, and with my fingers I could feel thousands of drusy crystals covering the lower side but couldn't get any of them out. I wonder if they're still there or if the bank has collapsed, 60 years later?
I love drusy quartz
WOW WOW WOW! Gorgeous. I had no idea these were so close by. Congrats on getting them!!
I love how you clean those crystal stacks off! It makes the muddy blob have crystals appear as if by magic. Nicely done, and all the best, Lanny
Magnificent adventure my friend sweet score beautiful day awesome time to catch up on all your adventures
The power wash clean-up looks like so much fun! Beautiful rocks…I even thought some of the clay swirls were pretty.
Hiya Greg, dude! That's some beautiful crystals, I love your videos when you get to go to those places, calcite crystals and the others are so awesome. I'm glad you brought us along, crazy cool!
That cool machine that you cleaned them with works really great.
I hope you have a awesome blessed day.
Cya! 😺🐟 out!
Thanks 👍
Greetings from Louisiana! Another awesome video! I always love your positivity and passion for rockhounding!
Hot DANG! That specimen is way to cool. Thanks for posting. I didn't get the memo, yet, that tells me when my specimen is arriving.😊...v
Fun filming style intro,
And good old school crystal hunt with meminer, my fav
👍👍👍
Those calcite crystals were very cool! It's always exciting to find such cool things!! Great video
That's almost unbelievable that they are out in the open for simple pickings, hard work climbing and digging flipping, but easy access.. beautiful mother nature is..
Ive enjoyed your videos for years, and this one is no exception... i love crystals, and your cleaning process gives each honor and destinction.
I'm so glad!
9:40 That is about a $7,000 specimen right there, nice. Looks like it would fit right in with all the expensive specimens you see at the Tuscon Gem and Mineral show.
I'm not sure about prices, but it is nice to think that. ;-)
Any quarry can be accessed , aslong as you dont get caught ! 😉✌ lol .
The earth is free imo .
Awesome finds man .
But you will get caught eventually and that would be embarrassing. ;-)
Club trip! What a playground! Great specimens Greig! What a gorgeous pineapple of a calcite cluster! Dang. You should have brought a wagon to take all that to your truck!
Particularly beautiful,Me Miner 👌🥰🙌🙏🏻👏🏻
Really nice Crystals after you wash out the clay with the pressure nozzle....! COOL...! I LIKE...! =)
I would never have dreamt there was crystal deposits like that here in Ontario . Can't wait to see what they all look like cleaned up !
I hope 108 isnt over the speed limit, oh wait.. you arent in the USA clearly.. They arrest people here with "video" proof of speeding. WOW!! Its like crystalized sea coral surfaces! Nature sure has some amazing fractal patterns. So well spotted and found! Thank you for sharing!
Stretch between hamilton and St. Catharines is posted 110kph 🤓
And crystals are one of the most amazing examples of fractal patterning 🤗
Or fractal geometry..😉
Incredible finds! Just WOW
Gr8 finds, gr8 vid xx cheers from scotland xx
Well, i'm saying one of, if not my favourite video of yours so far, outstanding description and explanation although I don't think they are really called rugs, plus you missed out one of the rarest minerals of all, minerite, latin name is. saearchus vugus mudus mineritus.
Great video my friend.
LOL
Symon, your comments always make me laugh….You are very witty!😂😅🙌🏼

Hell, O.
Thank you for your compliment, i'm not familiar with your name so I don't think i've had any conversations with you, that is self evident by the fact that your message is logical and not full of nonsense.
Most of my comments don't sink in and fly above everyones head but I do get the occasional message such as yours and I appreciate it very much.
I use humour as a way of coping with my condition and isolation, plus I can send out my coded messages without suspicion.
@@symonrocks9847 You are so welcome…Stay well and keep up the humour!🙏🏼😅👋🏼🇨🇦
Some great looking Calcite crystals for the collection! 👍👍

Incredible Miner, way to go 👏
Great calcite. You again make me want to go somewhere to rockhound.
Beautiful stuff, thanks for sharing .
Very nice video love how you clean the Crystal's
Absolutely wonderful finds my friend. As you know Calcite can damage easily so I often used clear nail polish to help protect them from little dings and such.
That's a good idea!
Sweet video glad to see you doing better
You be clubbin.. no disco ball.. but lots of razzle dazzle .. nice!❤️☮️

Wow those are beautiful!!!!! 😮🎉😮🎉😮
In a quarry near Rochester New York there were all the species you showed plus flourite, celestite, and small marine fossils.
Others found some fluorite and fossils on this trip. I have found Celestine before but not here.
Beautiful crystal
Nice crystals at the 9:55 mark!!

Absolutely amazing isnt it?!!
Good found
kilometers/hr. Was thinking you were going miles per hour for a second...lol
Slowing down to turn off the autobahn. LOL
Olá Amigo, fantástico 👏👏👏👏👏🤗
G, to awesome, beautiful.
The next time you go to Niagara, I'll take a drive to wave to you from the US side. 🙃
i have a theory that native americans on the east coast quarried for most of their flint because it’s higher quality when it’s found in clay and also less cracked and fractured. i haven’t found a lot of information on this so i’ll have to experiment with it myself i guess
Gostei muito dó seu canal é sou garimpeiro 1👍🙏
I like
Would the clay being in the vug help to facilitate any additional crystal growth from the clay itself, seeing as most clays are rich in various minerals, etc? Also, you mentioned that having the clay in the vug protects the crystals to prevent them from being damaged, but is it possible that it can also help to increase size of the crystal as there's a room to let it grow larger than I would have without the clay there? I'm guessing that I am just looking too deep into it, LOL.
Anyway, love the video! I actually had not seen a video from you for a few months and I thought something was going on, or perhaps you were just busy with other stuff... Then, a few minutes ago, I had a video finally show up from you and when I went to look at your UA-cam account I saw that you had been hard at work and uploaded tons of videos that I had missed. UA-cam has a clearly done what it's so good at, and hid your videos from me is they know how much I enjoy them and have gone out of their way to take any enjoyment away from me. Lol. Granted I should have gone a while ago to look at your account page, but I have the Bell icon selected of course so they should have been notifying me. Good ol' youtube...
All good thoughts, but I understand the void was there in the rock and crystals formed first
@@meMiner that was my initial thought and how I understood that it all worked as well, but I had already opened the "can of worms" in my head, so to speak, thinking about so many different possibilities... so I figured I would check to verify either way. I sincerely appreciate your response!
@@three6ohchris The bottom line is look for vugs because that is where you will find these crystals and if the void is filled with clay then there is a good chance they crystals are still in good shape. The blasting of the rock damages unprotected crystals. The quarry doesn't care because next step for these rocks is crush.
@@meMiner that's actually a really good point about the vugs being protected from the blasts by the clay being in there. You're very smart about all of this stuff, you should consider possibly creating a UA-cam account and making videos to share your knowledge on all of it. Lol 😜
I imagine that you'd have to be really thorough while looking through the piles of rocks to make sure you don't miss anything, as it would obviously be difficult to tell if there's a vug when it's filled up with clay and it makes it look like the rest of the rock.
@@three6ohchris LOL. The difficulty is really not knowing what is on the other side of a big rock. Could be the find of a lifetime.
i so wanna go there, you need to bring me . And were not leaving nany crystals behind.
i really enjoyed too,cheeeers****
I sent an email .. I want to join these clubs. F ing incredible..
Mate wat a day you had
I need help! Where can I take my rocks to be looked at hopefully to sell. I have alot of quartz mostly. Clear, yellow & Smokey. I live in S.W. VA near Roanoke Va
I know people who do well selling on Etsy
where did you find that little pressure washer?
I bought mine at a rock and mineral show. I have since seen them on Amazon
I live in Ontario and I’m interested in getting into hounding. If I may ask what club are you a part of I would like to join
Pick a club that is close to you. You can google to find one. I currently belong to Walker which is at UofT.
Where in Niagara? I'm in welland and looking to start hounding
You will need to belong to a club for access. There is a good one in Niagara and it is not expensive to join
God I wish I could find this stuff
Please can you tell me how to get in a club?
Google rock and mineral clubs in your area. They usually have an application online.
You were going 108 MPH????
KPH
awesome...!!!
where are you?
Ontario Canada
Does your wife go with you on these rockhounding adventures? Or do you go out to get out of the house?
LOL. There is no good answer to this question
Why the construction worker costume party?
At lunch, we all gather for the YMCA dance. ;-)
Seriously, it is required at an active quarry by law.
a bunch of 10k rocks
pineapple on pineapple calcite
9:50 nice
