Are you practicing on gravel or concrete? If you have bruises from rolling then the surface your on has absolutely no cushion. Which isnt safe if youre first learning. If something goes wrong and you land on your head, you could easily get a concussion.
Honestly even if you can butt pop then you still won't land on your head, only an idiot would land on his/her head.... Sorry if that triggered anyone...
i actually did this once when i had never done it before, out of pure adrenaline. i was on a trip with my class to a american football practice thingy, and we were practicing and all of that, and then we had to practice celebrations, and i got into the final with this other kid who was a little shorter than me. He was gonna do a backflip but failed, and i told everyone i was gonna attempt a frontflip, but i had never done one. so i had all that adrenaline built up and i ran as fast as i could, and did the 45 degree thing he showed in the video, and jumped as high as i could, and i fucking did it.
ik no ones gonna see this but i've already learned how to do a front flip on a trampoline, a divingboard, and flat ground into a pool. So i knew it wasn't going to be anything knew to me when i tried. So i coushined my flooor as much as i could untill i didnt feel no pain and when i tried every single time i landed flat on my ass. It's either i just have no bunnys or im doing a step wrong but being able to do a front flip on flat ground is still something highly respectable and a skill that takes an absurd amount of skill. Even though i was landing flat or close to flat on my ass i had about a foot or more of coushing i hit before the ground so i might have a little chance that i can barely land very low but i also didnt have alot of runup so maybe thats another reason i couldn't do it.
after this video I felt so inspired that I had to step out my room and try it. first jump: landed on my ass so hard I can't move. dont try this on grass for the first time. it hurts
I used to front flip on a trampoline at my cousins house... 4 years later after not doing front flips because I didnt have a trampoline and doing it for the first time in ages I got hella disoriented.
My first ever front flip was right after my first major teen growth spurt. With my new height and longer legs, I learned quickly that I could run even faster than before, and I was already pretty fast. I was going home from school one day in ninth grade and said "f it, I'mgoing to try to keep pace with the cars." And the rapidly approached a red light where I had to stop. I wasn't used to controlling that speed yet and was wearing a heavy backpack because I didn't buy a locker. The inertia from my backpack carried me foreword after my lower half stopped. I jumped out of instinct and went over, landing on my feet again. Instead of trying that again, my body said (without my permission) "Nope. We're learning how to halt large amounts of momentum on a dime." Later that year, I got hit by a car on my way home. True to physics defying fashion, I ended up stopping the car with my self and walking away perfectly fine. I saw right before the collision that the guy was on his phone, not paying attention to his red light or the pedestrian in front of him. Cop on the corner didn't even get out of his car to see if I was alright... he just kinda _stared_ at me on my way past, likely dumbstruck that a babyface kid could pull such a superhuman feat. Hope _he_ got fired. And that was the story of when I learned I was either invincible, immortal, or both.
Oh my god, thank you so much! I've been practicing parkour for 2 years now, and I've hard the hardest time doing flips. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into these videos. You've earned my subscription and like!

I’ve been using this video the past few days to try and teach myself to do a flip. So far, haven’t been able to do the flip itself (well I’m flipping, but I keep landing on my back). But I DID nail the dive roll, so I take that as a sign of progress!

Well 1. Cars can't think 2. The people in the cars were either thinking "he's trying to do a flip" or they weren't paying attention because they were driving and their eyes were on the road
In wrestling - we used to "dive" into a roll. Meaning you run and you jump over an obstacle with your arms forward, you land arms first - then you roll off of your hands, and the inertia kicks you back up on your feet. Mighty fun to do. This "high jump" into "hand stand" into "roll" makes a very good precursor front flip. At some point you can jump over a 1.2 meter obstacle, land on your arms and roll away - smoothly. At that point doing a front flip is very natural, you just "roll" in mid air, instead of waiting for the hands to touch the floor.
When I did it, my arms swung so far back that I used my hands to absorb some of the impact to protect my back. When I used my arms in attempt to tuck my legs in (which I couldn't, since I have very long legs that rotate away from my arms as I flip), I landed on my backside. But I did it on a surface of broken up wood-chunks rather than grass, so I wasn't hurt that much (despite the scratches).
@@pbscsemate689 It's not very scary, but maybe practice onto a matress or pillows or something, because it will really hurt the day after if you land on your back. If you can do it on a trampoline with good form straight off it with no pre-jump, you should be able to do it.
When do I let go of my knees, I don't want to over tuck and land on my face. So far, I can front flip but my rotation is not good enough, I always land in a very low squat position. Sometimes I don't even land it lol
I use the blocking technique to gain unnatural height when I do a jump. I figured out how to not even need a run up. I leaned back and pivoted foreword, maybe taking at most one step before doing it to fling myself into the air.
Man I'm holding a yoga mat and walking shirtless to the beach I don't need your stretching instructions but I'll probably learn this flip today thanks to this video
don't worry it does'nt hjrt at all if you land on your butt on the grass.... but if you land on your vertibral area just opposite to the chest, then you might feel uneasy to breath for like 5 seconds... but nothing like fracture or anything serious will happen... still to get over the fear, try dive roll and eventually standing front roll with out hands...
I was learning about it in the second floor, and my neighbor in the first floor was asking what you were doing in the second floor. The fan was going to fall over my head.

Man I'm holding a yoga mat and walking shirtless to the beach I don't need your stretching instructions but I'll probably learn this flip today thanks to this video
How do you get over the fear of doing a frontflip? Or landing or your back/butt?
Do it into a pool or trampoline, landing on your butt doesn't hurt barely at all in grass.
+kory Lude trust me i have done it loads when i practise and it doesnt hurt at all
ik this late but if it make you feel better i fell straight down from 10 ft
+iDreyous damn
don't worry it does'nt hjrt at all if you land on your butt on the grass.... but if you land on your vertibral area just opposite to the chest, then you might feel uneasy to breath for like 5 seconds... but nothing like fracture or anything serious will happen... still to get over the fear, try dive roll and eventually standing front roll with out hands...
4:07 is what I live for :D
Oh my god IKR LOLOL
Rob$tar omg same

Hope u good
Sorry man
good now the bruise just went away a few weaks ago
Ouch
You should do some warm ups before doing it
my advice is to go to the beach where there is a lot of sand. it's a little more harder to jump but it's way much softer on your back for beginners
Yup
Tbh do it at a jump park it’d probably be easier with less injury
I'm watching it like I'm actual gonna do it lol
