- In this episode we continue the big back balloon framed wall. It's been a challenge dealing with heavy lumber and working by myself, I am very thankful for the scaffolding or there is no way I could have done this job.

patience is a virtue...and you are obviously virtuous man. Keep up the good work. Very interesting build!
Thank you very much
Another Good Job today well done.
Thank you
Hard work pays off.
Yes it does
Awesome work!!
Thanks
Well Andrew you did really good at putting the wall studs in just saying if you had a helper it would be a lot easter for you so you don't have to climb up and down it makes for a long day doing it that way. But as I said you did an amazing job with it. Can't wait to see part 3. Be careful brother.
Thank you
Great job 🙂
Thank you
I can' watch so I'll close my eyes till you start talking again wonderful work God bless.
Lol it's not that bad is it?
@@TKCL NO it is just watching those BIG HEADER go up and your poor Body is going to be so sore God Bless.
I need some good exercise
Well done you are smashing it
Thank you
You are amazing to do all that work in that heat.
That's Florida
I wish I lived closer! Looking forward to watching!
Thank you for the support
Andrew you are doing one heck of a job. When you fast forward I didn't realize how much time and effort it actually took. If it was me I probably would have rented a scissor lift however I know this build is more expensive than originally planned with the added cost of lumber. Keep up the good work but also take care of yourself.
Thank you
Your a smart man Andrew! When I don't think you can show me anything new you always seem to. Doing a great job on the build! It's fun to watch and for those doing the same has to be very very helpful. Great job and really appreciate your time sharing!
Thank you so much!
You are doing an awesome job!! The attention you are paying to detail is going to make your home so much more special. Love watching all of your videos
Thank you so much
Hi, Andrew! You are working so hard. It has to be quite gratifying knowing you are building your dream home with your own hands. I respect your perseverance. The house is looking great.
Thank you, I do believe it's going to feel great to look back after it's done and know I had a big part in it.
@@TKCL it most certainly will! God bless you, Tiffany, and Bullet. I am eager to watch tomorrow’s livestream.
Take care and God bless
Looking good. Made me nervous though. God bless.
Take care and God bless
Considering you are working alone this is a tremendous amount of progress. Well done.
Thank you
Good work it is looking great
Thank you
i like your work, awesome job
Thank you
Very nice Andrew. You are doing a great job. The boss will be well pleased. Scaffolding seems to be working great.
It's working very well
You are simply amazing!!!
Good job Andrew, especially by yourself! Looks good.
Thank you
some great ingenuity shown in this one.
Thank you
looking good young man. you forgot to put the balloons up.ha ha ha.
I'm not done lol
Nice work Andrew. Yes it is really hard n time consuming to work alone. Looking good bud.😁
Appreciate it
When the rains come, and they will surely come, you might regret not raising the building pad under the concrete so water drains away from the building.
It's obviously deceptive, but that rain would have to fill a sloped yard with good run off up 6-8 inches. I've never seen such a rain. The other end of the house is 32 inches above grade. We got 17 inches of rain last year in a tropical storm and there was absolutely no standing water near the house.
Like the ingenuity, hold ropes and raising rope. The climbing up and down had to be tiring. Looking great 👍
I was worn out
Excellent progress today.
Yes, thank you
I watched so many videos and finally found the right one this is exactly what I’m. Looking to learn thanks again for that 17 degree angle I’m sure I start with that and see how that goes
Glad you enjoyed the content
Yes sir
You can also measure the first stud then add or subtract the pitch of the roof to get your measurements for the next stud since everything is on 12" centers on those walls.
Well I tried that and was always off a fraction ot two. I'm not the world's best at math anyway
Very impressive for one man looks great
Thank you
If there is a will, there is an Andrew way!!!
😁
Nice job, a little scary. Be safe
Thank you, I will
Great job. Good thing OSHA wasn't around.
Don't think OSHA applies to a home owner doing things. That's for employers putting employees in harms way
Wow your doing great job 👏 👍 👌
Thank you
Andrew, this video is incredible! You are doing an awesome job. Get plenty of rest and take care.
Thank you
Looking really nice and very smart on planning for a potential future add on...
Thank you
Great job. The hardest part of this is climbing up and down the ladder. I would be crippled by the end of the day. Hope you have a hot tub.
I need one!
Looking good! That’s a ton of work to do yourself.
Thank you, I'm plugging away little by little
Nice work today
Thank you
Well you did get your aerobics workout today 👍.... Ok ok I guess you deserve a break for the night but you have to do it all over again tomorrow 🤭🤭
😩.... Must rest......
Fantastic job except...... you need to have a hardhat on especially since you are working by yourself.
My team wouldn’t know what to do without production drawings and cut sheets. Got them spoiled.
Something that might help in the future. Strap an ibc tote to those forks
I've got a new attachment for the tractor to share soon
Hey you should have kept the measures off the studs because the should be the same
I’m glad you didn’t cut one too short. That would cost an arm and a leg in todays lumber prices. Great editing on the video.
Well it could still be used for the stub walls or blocking
Well done!
Thank you
From Cyprus Dave eat ,sleep, handle wood, repeat.
That's my life lately
I really am enjoying watching you building your dream home! Could you explain to me what a balloon frame wall is? I don’t think I have ever heard of that before, but then I have never built a house! Good job today, you made a ton of progress 😀👍
It's a term used back in the day to describe light weight framing such as this. The rumor was old timers said that the wall would blow away like a balloon. It's basically a wall with continuous studs top to bottom.
@@TKCL thank you so much for answering my questions!
Your welcome
You missed the opportunity when you snapped your fingers. You should had a big explosion and an image of the a building completely collapsed. Then you could of told us all how you know you shouldn't of removed that bar. 😁😊 Maybe I have to much time on my hands this morning while I wait for breakfast to get done cooking.
Lol that's just mean.... And funny lol! I'm not that good at editing
Hello Andrew, I love the work your doing and how your explaining everything, my question is how do you attach the 2x6's to the metal trusses.
I show that in a previous episode, you'll ha e to go through the Playlist. I bolted my double top plate to the truss with 3/8 bolts.
Art Hardhat area. Hardhat or hardhead lol.
👍🤑
How did you connect the top plate to the metal rafter?. Does the rafter have plates with holes for bolts?
Not done yet, I'll be bolting those two together per plans.
Hello, I just watched a video about a wonderful black barn "The TRUE STORY Of How Our Barndominium Came To Be" from
"Black Barn Blossoms". What color you choose for your house?
It's a medium gray with white trim.
you defiantly got your exercise in today, made me tired just watching you. now I need to go rest lmao
great job make sure you get good rest and back at it tomorrow
p.s. even though you spell Kelly wrong you still work like a Kelly would.
so I guess you're alright in my book lmao
Lol gee thanks 😂
Looks great. But do you ever wonder why you built a pole barn first, instead of just stick building off of a slab?
We wanted this look and design
Amazing Work. How did you connect the top plate to the roof framework? Saw the "C" clamping to hold in place temporarily.
Not done yet, will get to that this week and record it
Question could you have done standard walls all the way around and continued the walls on top of your loft floors
I did short walls where the Loft is because I needed the wall to support the floor joists of the Loft.
@TKCL ok did the balloon walls just save money just wondering the process.
@@garlanwilkins2261 solid end balloon walls were required by engineering due to our wind zone. They allowed no breaks.
@TKCL ok cool just was curious. Just learning from your build as much as I can
Way aren't you putting in Sliding glass doors??
I'm assuming you're talking for the front porch, it's because doors on the front of the house entice people to track and walk through the living room. That is something we absolutely do not want, so we stuck with side doors.
