Awesome! Another video coming today. We will start getting more detailed with the specifics of the build very soon.
So excited to see the progress on your home! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching
Coming along nicely. Looking forward to the build.
Thank you
So exciting! It’s all coming together!
Yes it is, the next video starts getting very exciting
Suggestion. For every tree you tear out, plant 10 new ones. IF you plan on living in the house for the next 30 or 40 years, those new trees will be a testiment to how long you have lived there. Also, It will really bring a lot of character to your homestead. Plant a line or double line of Oak trees about 40 or 50 foot apart. They make a great covered lane when they mature. Nice place to setup picnic tables or a nice shaded areas for entertaining your guest in 20 or so years.
I literally planted almost 7,000....yes 7,000 pine trees when I first bought this property and its everything you see behind the house. All those pine trees went through my hand. I've also been planting two different types of oaks on the property. I love trees!
Looking good!!!! That view of the oak tree is going to be awesome!!!!!! I'm definitely interested in the codes, inspection, etc!!!!
We will have a detailed video very soon! Thanks for watching
It is fun to watch your getting alot done God Bless.

Wow that's going to looks amazing.... You need to set up a fan mail po box so I can send you the biggest bug zapper I can find lol. That will take care of those gnats 🦟🦟🦟
Lol, it's been on my daily list for a week and a half to set up a po box. I'm just soo dang busy.
@@TKCL ok😭🥺
I didn't realize you we swatting nats I thought you we trying sign language for the channel
Lol, that's funny
Hi all, when your dried in will you be working on the house
I'm about to be taking over as soon as the slab is done. The slab and roof was more than I wanted to tackle by myself.
@@TKCL yes I had a feeling that's what was gonna happen good luck
Was there a certain distance between post you had to maintain? With wood trusses, everybody is doing 2ft on center. Maybe metal allows for more?
Yes they come standard at 12ft, but to get a higher wind load we had to go 10ft on center.
Metal allows for a lot more spacing than wood, these are also 2x6 purlins, not 2x4
These are great videos. Thank you. If is not too much trouble, who was your roofer? I have a pole barn with the metal trusses and would like to deck the roof as well. I had one company come out and he has not called me back.....
McCord construction services in Lamont Florida
Thank you!
I've been watching all yall's videos and your doing a great job. What is the roof eaves overhang and is the pole barn 30' wide at the eaves or at the posts?
30 wide at the posts, not including the side porch. Eave overhang is 18 inches give or take. Thank you for watching
Hello 😁
Hello 😊
Everything's looking good buddy they're getting it up together again I am very very happy of your wife and you doing this I've been praying for you guys to do this are you going to have live stream text me back funny text me back buddy God bless you all
Thank you Ralph, God bless
Where did you go for you basic ag building steel
Backwoods buildings in Chipley Florida
How did y’all find and buy your property?
Years and years of searching, it was a long but cool story I need to explain one day. It was absolutely meant to be for us. I'll do a viewer question video soon since it's a long winded story.
What company sales those metal trusses , brother ? Looks great
Backwoods buildings in Chipley Florida, they ship. I've bought three buildings from them. Highly recommend them.
@@TKCL thank you brother … love the concept of the build. What type of sheathing did you put on the roof ? Was it Zip It, also did you have the roof wrapped for moisture?
Put down half inch CDX plywood, on top of that I put a titanium vapor barrier.
@@TKCL thanks very much
I’m looking to build the exact same thing here in South Texas …
Where did you get the metal trusses from?
Backwoods buildings in Chipley Florida
where did you get your roof trusses and what are they called?
Ag barn trusses from Backwoods buildings in Chipley Florida. We built them stronger and engineered them for a roof load.
Are you doing vaulted ceilngs
In the living room, rest of the house has a false ceiling and attic
Awesome
Quick question, why are the 2x6 standing up instead of laying down?
Much stronger on their side than laying flat. They need to support the weight of the roof
@@TKCL I thought so but figured I'd ask instead of assume lol. I'm glad I subscribed. The 4066r brought me here lol
Nice! Welcome and thanks for watching
@@TKCL thank you for all the helpful info on what a tractor like that can actually do.
hey buddy you hit 10K, nice going, How many days are you into this now? Nice up-date video
Thank you! Into what? The build or the channel blowing up?
@@TKCL Oh the build
Umm probably a week and a half... Hard to remember
The video is a couple of days behind too, made a lot of progress today
@@TKCL I am still waiting, the rain 2 weeks ago slowed our progress
How many feet off the ground are the 6x6 to the truss?
12ft above the finished slab height. So 12ft 6 inches.
@@TKCL 6x6x12 are getting expensive. 12’ still gave you nice room for the loft
What part of Florida are you in?
About 30 minutes east of Tallahassee
I may have missed some of your explanations ,,,,but I have never seen trusses like that ....are they steel or wood? Also ,,,,the boards on top of the trusses are standing up...and I thought they should be laying the other way....but I don't know much ....just an ole mamaw.....but I love watching stuff like this!!! They just look like they will be more flimsy and not as sturdy....I don't want ya roof to fall over!!!! Mercy sakes Youngin,,,that would not be good!!!!!
Lol actually a board on its side is far stronger than laying flat. They are that way for added strength. Those are steel trusses, and quite common for pole barns in my area. All of this is engineered and rated to very high wind loads for Florida and the hurricane zone we are in. The camera is deceiving, it's much stronger than it looks.
@@TKCL ..Thank you for the explanation ....I figured it had to do with the Florida weather and you seem to do your homework on things before ya do them!!!! I am enjoying watching the things you are doing!!! You are a hard working young man with a hard working young lady by your side!!
Where did you buy your trusses?
Backwoods buildings in Chipley Florida
how much were the steel trusses? I’m strongly considering steel instead of wood even though wood trusses are much more common in the Midwest.
Not sure, everything was bought as a package. I didn't get a breakdown on the trusses.
