  • One of the coolest art projects in Fort Worth invited artists from across the country to add a splash of color to the concrete structures located along the Trinity River Floodway.
In some cases, the artists were located right here in our own backyard. Meet Jana Renee. A talented artist from Fort Worth, Texas, who really loves to “sprinkle little pieces of art all over this city.” In this mural, entitled "The Charmer," Renee says she was inspired by John William Waterhouse. And wanted to illustrate the idea of bringing music into nature.
Renee says she made a trail friend named Alesandra who would visit her while she was painting. Coincidentally, the lady was also learning to play guitar at the time. And as a nod to her new found friend, Jana modified the lady in the painting to look more like her.
Renee loved the project and the fact that a group of artists were collaborating to create this experience together. Fun stuff. Next time you're out on the trails, keep your eyes open for “The Charmer” and all the other creations that have popped up along the river. You can keep up with Jana’s work on Instagram @thejanarenee.
