I was lucky enough to actually meet daewon maybe 10 years ago when I was working at mcdonalds in LA Habra. It was pretty insane getting starstruck'd in drive thru. For being one of the greatest skaters on the planet, this dude was super laid back and chill. He told me he'd bring some stuff with him the next time he came thru, and believe it or not a week later he actually kept his word and came to my work. Not only did he lace me up with a gang of shit, but he actually knew my name... me and Daewon on a name to name basis. Never forget that Daewon. KEEP PUSHIN
Hes one of the few guys i see on instagram actually talking to people in the comments everywhere all around great guy, same with Rodney. Overall, Almost was great in those days and i loved it, growing up to this
Chrisvelasco it's over 10 years old... That's along time, especially from skateboardings standpoint. There are not too many parts that are 10+ years old that can hold up with current day skate parts, but this one definitely does though.
That was insane, I have been out of the scene for like 20 years and it’s good to know the OG stuff still holds up. Daewon Song was always one of my favorites, his control and command of the board are incredible!
That ender is still holds up as being one of the sickest in skating history in my opinion. Treyflip noseblunt down a slanted table to manny on a slanted box, from a fucking cargo container. That shit is so dope.
The tech, flow and straight balls to do some of these tricks will make this my favorite part ever. The music gives me chills with how well it goes with his part. 10/10 part
Every detail of this video was amazing. I'm age 44. I'll be skating this summer. Lots of snow right now. Hello from Canada. I was a kid skating in California when Daewon was young
Ik this is weird but this came out I think when I was like 5 or 6 and I would watch it every single night before I went to sleep sadly I stopped skateboarding at like 13 but I am 16 now and I just bought my first skateboarding shoes in like 4 years and it feels good to be back
I'm 26, I stopped skating when I was about 20 because of college. But when I did skate, I skated manual pads more than my group of friends. This part has so much more meaning to me now. It is the epitome of true mindfulness, where there is no ego, not a competition but personal satisfaction. I remember when reading skateboarding magazines (every night before bed) pros would always say "have fun" and "love skateboarding" is the way to be pro. Learning to skate manual pads taught me how to really set your ego aside and just feel. Your ego will start out by lashing out with pure frustration and it isn't until you realize that there's another part of your being that arises when you simply believe that you can do it. It's like frustration wants outcome so bad that another part of your brain awakens and frustration dies and turns into patience and awareness 🤣. Almost surreal. It's like enlightenment but when you reach it, it feels like whatever, cool, next trick. And then I carried that mindset with me to everything. For years of working I lost it. Don't ever let anyone or any situation get into your head - let go of how you feel and focus on discerning between what is and what is perceived. Once you get into this state, dont take it for granted. It is the most important thing and people will try to take that away from you. Watching this part again makes me feel "zen", and it eases my soul.
Jordan Baughman i think it is more of a term of reference just because it is a heavily referred to part or it is just down to their sheer wow factor and inspirational and production values rather then of its age..but regardless yeah i hear that!
Daewon is truly one of a kind. Skateboarding has evolved so much from the time this was filmed, but after all these years, this part still blows minds and can't be contested by anyone. Crazy. Timeless.
Love it, one of the must influential videos in Mexico back in 05, It showed us that you could skate something else than handrails, our first look to creative skating. We used even to nerd out in the soundtrack
Even to this day this video is mind-blowing to me every single time i watch it. It is a timeless video and i believe alot of the stuff will never be replicated.
First saw this video about 10 years ago when I started skating. I'm 21 years old now & this is still in my top 3 fav. videos of all time.. Daewon kills it!
Talk about a feel good part. I could be in the shittiest mood ever and watch this and by the end of it have a smile from ear to ear. Daewon is love Daewon is life❤️
That applies to all of Round 3. Both Mullens part and Daewons part. There are things in both parts that literally havent been done since except that one dude whose mission is to recreate all of Mullens round 3 tricks.
One of my all time favorite parts....where the Mullen parts at tho???..I will randomly remember something about skating from when I was younger then go find the video part on UA-cam...& miss those carefree days tremendously...ahh those were the days...
This damn near brings me to tears every time I watch it, and honestly its the manual tre nose manual on the same pad. Idk. The way he flings that tre and barely lands in a nose manual... Incredible.
When the killers start saying, " I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" this nostalgic feeling runs through my body, the chills man this video was more then just a skate video to me, any person that loves skating knows this feeling
First skae vid i ever wtahced when i was 12, this part is so sick, the music, the tricks and gaps at the time were insane, getting goosbumps watching this
God I've never been so nervous watching a skate video. All those rooftop gaps like come on man. I was cringing so hard at the back tail and kick front board on the truck to truck rail gap, that could have gone wrong so many different ways
I've probably watched this part more than any other video. Growing up this was my bible lol. I have other favorites now, but this will always be the part that got me truly stoked on trying to push myself for the first time. So sick.
Even if Daewon's skills are out of this world, there is a feeling of unpretentiousness in every parts he ever recorded. And that is somehow truly amazing.
If you put a gun to my head and told me I have to rank skaters(ugh)...well then Daewon's pretty much the GOAT in all-around skill on whatever terrain. Dude's the real Animal Chin, sometimes sighted around Watts and channel street..and if you go searching, be sure to bring some extra donuts (from a real mom&pop shop, never from a store).
i'm sure he 'can' skate rails if he was so possessed, but I suspect that he does not see the risk/reward of stairs&rails being worth the trouble...45degree-incline table grinds and semi-truck gaps are close enough for me
Facts. There’s a reason there’s only ever been Rodney Vs Daewon. Taking gnar out of the question. And it comes to precision, skill, control. Daewon is the only on e that could even come close to Being better than The Godfather. The last clip... and all the truck clips. Taking gnar back into the question. He a psycho! Equivalent to the standards of what gnar is even considered to this day
I think this only gets better with time, because only now many of us realise how insane that was! I couldn't comprehend it properly when I was a kid. Nevertheless I was blown away every time I watch it (and I saw this like a million times :D )
2:00: The 18-wheeler transporting the “Hyundai” shipping container in sync with Daewon is one of the most iconic moments from Song’s _Almost: Round 3_ part; Hyundai is a South Korean industrial manufacturing group whose name (현대) means “modern” in Korean, and the trailer’s timing the logo to flash by behind Daewon in perfect sync like a massive Times Square digital billboard is the universe’s way of photobombing Song’s part to advertise to the world, “this is the new sh!t” :P Also, I love the shot that Daewon’s part opens with; your first thought when you see his board fall dozens of feet and suddenly realize how dangerous the spot is, is, “the f⋃⊂к is he doing here”; which basically gives you a heads-up that, well yeah that’s pretty much what the rest of his part is going to be like xD Mullen, Song, Haslam…the skating, the backing tracks, the editing…my favorite skate video of all time 👍

dope story
I used to go to liberty boardshop in brea and he’d be chillin with the guys skating in the parking lot. Daewon is the man!
With a name like "Studder," I don't know how he could forget ya. But all jokes aside, great story.
Hes one of the few guys i see on instagram actually talking to people in the comments everywhere all around great guy, same with Rodney. Overall, Almost was great in those days and i loved it, growing up to this
Such a damn good part! Insane even for today's standards!
It’s 5 years later now and it’s still an Insane part.
Facts!
Still holds up
Go check Rodney's part III, that skating will never be topped. Its unreal.
Instablaster...
Almost Round 3 never gets old, great music, great skaters, great everything!
Cuz it's not old,, it wasent too long ago,, and people are still trying to advance past the dayone Mullen machine...
Chrisvelasco it's over 10 years old... That's along time, especially from skateboardings standpoint. There are not too many parts that are 10+ years old that can hold up with current day skate parts, but this one definitely does though.
So true.
@@unicron24 I was 12 when I first saw this video. I am about to be 28. That was a long ass time ago unfortunately :(
Dude seriously, Haslam, Sheckler, Mullen, Song? Come on
One of the most inspirational videos of my childhood! We don't forget!
Daewon Song reached a level of skateboarding that has yet to be touched by any other skateboarder. I'm not overreacting. That is just a fact.
armin38822 true
You obviously haven't seen Jamie Thomas.
k
EllisFrost, poopunicycle ?
Still a fucking fact.
When I first saw this it was amazing . and now that I see it again it is still amazing
the tre lip over the truck gap is unbelievable
brings back memoriessssss... used to watch this everyday after school
Ayo_2short same here
That was insane, I have been out of the scene for like 20 years and it’s good to know the OG stuff still holds up. Daewon Song was always one of my favorites, his control and command of the board are incredible!
This is single-handedly the best skatevideo part ever made in human history. The tricks, the song, the setup, and the legend himself.
A cover band played this song last night at the pub and I instantly thought about this vid. Now I am here, hungover and crying to this beautiful part.
That ender is still holds up as being one of the sickest in skating history in my opinion. Treyflip noseblunt down a slanted table to manny on a slanted box, from a fucking cargo container. That shit is so dope.
It is true most shocked of have ever been watching a skateboarding trick. It sounds like Rodney
Mullen's voice in the background too
"Oh my god"
Sick, but he didn't lock into the edge of the table like a proper noseblunt. He was on top of the table, you can tell by the filmers' angles.
Inspirational part of this legend, a piece of skateboarding history
The tech, flow and straight balls to do some of these tricks will make this my favorite part ever. The music gives me chills with how well it goes with his part. 10/10 part

dam bro epic comment
The first time I saw this over a decade ago and it still blows my mind…
Same bro
There's no such thing as coincidence. This part speaks to my soul. From the shots to the music and every line.
I watched this part again today and is still sic like after 18 years! Definitely a timeless classic!
Makes me feel old if round 3 is a classic lol
Jordan Baughman are you forgetting stay gold has a classic video?
Jordan Baughman i think it is more of a term of reference just because it is a heavily referred to part or it is just down to their sheer wow factor and inspirational and production values rather then of its age..but regardless yeah i hear that!
I feel ya...... I'm old as hell. Lol.
+Lew Matic classic means exactly what it means man that's that
+Jordan Baughman right! so crazy this came out 13 years ago. i was 12 lol
Till this day still one of my fucking favorite skate DVDs to watch 👏🏾
Daewon is truly one of a kind. Skateboarding has evolved so much from the time this was filmed, but after all these years, this part still blows minds and can't be contested by anyone. Crazy. Timeless.
Wow. Absolutely amazing
How does one even think of these combinations🤯🤯🤯
I still watch this part fairly often
ohhh the good ol dayz... das war mein Nummer1 Motivationsvideo zu der Zeit!
Daewon completely inspired how I skate to this day! Manny pads and ledges are my go-to’s🙏🏾🫡
was he born doing manuals?
probably he was doing a manual outta the womb.
He was born during manuals
Koreans are freakin good at everything lol
He skates just like a video game
THIS! Its a fuking pro skater 2 character. xD
One of the best skateboard footage of the 2000's , Daewon is such an inspiration for me !Thanks for all your creativity !
So underrated. This should have had 10 million views
Love it, one of the must influential videos in Mexico back in 05, It showed us that you could skate something else than handrails, our first look to creative skating. We used even to nerd out in the soundtrack
This takes me back to my teenage years. I always tried to replicate his style when I used to skate. Amazing how this video still holds up to this day.
Just incredible! Anyone giving this a thumbs down is jealous. They will never be the skater Daewon is.
The only man i've ever seen completely re-adjust his feet mid-manuel. legends never die.
Mullen does it too.
and conversely, 2:32 his feet don't move at all. so stylish.
First full length skate video I owned/watched. 3:11 still blows my mind.
PotatoPlop same, favorite one in his part
PotatoPlop One of those videos you watch and rewatched as a kid.
imagine this at the premiere. i would have screamed my lungs out!
The catch/twist at 3:35 is one of the best things I've ever seen in all of skateboarding. There is so much confidence in that catch it's unreal.
Even to this day this video is mind-blowing to me every single time i watch it. It is a timeless video and i believe alot of the stuff will never be replicated.
Daewon song is a living legend and a huge inspiration to me and countless others. We love you thank you for your contribution to skateboarding.
This part came out over 15 years ago and so many of the tricks still seem impossible 🤯
I still have the dvd. Bought it at a contest without knowing what it was. Best outcome ever. Still one of the best skateboarding movies ever made.
people still baffled by Daewon in 2116
Still baffled in 2019

First saw this video about 10 years ago when I started skating. I'm 21 years old now & this is still in my top 3 fav. videos of all time.. Daewon kills it!
This brings me back to when I was 11 years old. One of my favorite video parts ever!
This video part will surely be immortalized in the history of skateboarding as one of the best. Daewon the legend.
Whose watching this while on quarantine? What a classic gives me chills everytime and i get emotional lol
Talk about a feel good part. I could be in the shittiest mood ever and watch this and by the end of it have a smile from ear to ear. Daewon is love Daewon is life❤️
To this day modern skaters can't do what Daewon did in this part. The dude is an absolute legend
That applies to all of Round 3. Both Mullens part and Daewons part. There are things in both parts that literally havent been done since except that one dude whose mission is to recreate all of Mullens round 3 tricks.
Best Video Part Ever
2019 and even by today standards just Wow!
2020 it continues lol
I will never forget this part!
One of my all time favorite parts....where the Mullen parts at tho???..I will randomly remember something about skating from when I was younger then go find the video part on UA-cam...& miss those carefree days tremendously...ahh those were the days...
Not other skater has yet reached this level os skating!!! I don’t think there will ever do
11 years ago.... and hes still killin it today
omfg i cant even comprehend most of the tricks hes doing crazy af
How can you not like this part. 100% classic.
Even the camera guy was scared for daewon in the last trick. You can hear it in his voice. So gnarly.
That camera guy was Mullen himself!
@Mr Mead wow you're right! I didn't even notice until you pointed it out
This damn near brings me to tears every time I watch it, and honestly its the manual tre nose manual on the same pad. Idk. The way he flings that tre and barely lands in a nose manual... Incredible.
Almost round 3 is one of the best skate videos I've ever seen. Nice to see it here!
I didnt know what I was watching back then. It was just a sick skate video. It has aged so well! Wow.
Wow brings back such good memories, between him Rodney and Haslam, this video was really the best!
I used to watch this video on repeat at all times in the third and fourth grade.
Daewon song mutch respect for you, wish you all the best! Always stayed real to skateboarding 🙏🏼
this is insane!
Trickshot orba? Damn I watch your vids
Lemao, a degenerate group.
Ayyyy didn’t know you skate
A..a gamer?
This is classic
23 Rodney Mullen fans! Great and classic video growing up! DVD Came with bonus round 1 and 2 hidden menus!
Such a classic. I remember watching this in high school
When the killers start saying, " I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" this nostalgic feeling runs through my body, the chills man this video was more then just a skate video to me, any person that loves skating knows this feeling
First skae vid i ever wtahced when i was 12, this part is so sick, the music, the tricks and gaps at the time were insane, getting goosbumps watching this
Guy is superhuman on a skateboard, and so down to earth off the board. Honestly an inspiration to me in skating as much as how to treat others. 🙏🏻
God I've never been so nervous watching a skate video. All those rooftop gaps like come on man. I was cringing so hard at the back tail and kick front board on the truck to truck rail gap, that could have gone wrong so many different ways
so much could have gone wrong on the back tail if i dont lock in its death
Such a beautiful part. Thank you for this masterpiece Daewon 🙏🏻
A classic looking back on a classic.. beautiful
Daewon is the truth on a skateboard! Mind = blown, just like every other time I watch this absolute classic.
I've probably watched this part more than any other video. Growing up this was my bible lol. I have other favorites now, but this will always be the part that got me truly stoked on trying to push myself for the first time. So sick.
Everyday was daewon part day...Even the music is the best off all the skaters.
I could watch Daewon, Haslam, and Koston dork around for hours
Even if Daewon's skills are out of this world, there is a feeling of unpretentiousness in every parts he ever recorded. And that is somehow truly amazing.
I’m so excited to watch this part for the first time in at least ten years
Beyond Epic
He's my inspiration to keep skating and tells me that there's nothing impossible that i cant do!
Thank you thrasher for uploading this part with the original song
This whole video is a classic
I remember watching this back in middle school when it first came out. Daewon is awesome and legendary
Definitely one of my top 10 favorite skaters.
So good. I remember being at the premiere of this one when I was a kid.
I remember a friend from middle school introducing me to this. Phenomenal!
One of the greatest video parts ever
Yes
greatest skateboarder of all time, hands down.
If you put a gun to my head and told me I have to rank skaters(ugh)...well then Daewon's pretty much the GOAT in all-around skill on whatever terrain. Dude's the real Animal Chin, sometimes sighted around Watts and channel street..and if you go searching, be sure to bring some extra donuts (from a real mom&pop shop, never from a store).
as usual this is a truth that most will not grasp...
He cant skate handrails doe
Daewon Song and Rodney Mullins are my two favorite street skaters of all times!
He probably could, but what would be the challenge for Daewon?
i'm sure he 'can' skate rails if he was so possessed, but I suspect that he does not see the risk/reward of stairs&rails being worth the trouble...45degree-incline table grinds and semi-truck gaps are close enough for me
if skateboarding had a ranking, this man is medal of honor no cap
Rodney Mullen may be the godfather, but no one has a better style then Daewon Song. His 360 flips are God.
totally. I think the only thing that can provide world peace, are his tre flips.
Best video part ever.
Superior in the fecal sense, perhaps. But not in the urinary.
Facts. There’s a reason there’s only ever been Rodney Vs Daewon. Taking gnar out of the question. And it comes to precision, skill, control. You know it's so dope, because it's way better than the actual video for this song.✌️🤙👍
Rodney Mullen vs. Deawon Song round 2 is one of the best videos I've ever seen, this one was good.
One of my first skate videos and the whole vid was good...good memories
I remember when I first seen this when it came out. I fell in love with skateboarding around that time and damn near every skater on this video lol
