I don't keep up with skating lately but is there people better than daewon song at manual tricks and Rodney Mullen has the most versatile and creative amount of tricks.
Dang its crazy to me how im watching this again as a adult.. Looking back now when we got this dvd for a gift, had the whole squad over watching this Then stayed up making our own. Wish them well..
great song choice, just the right amount of sentimental. feels even more so after watching the interview where he says he only started doing roof gaps after his mom passed away.
This is the part that made me love skateboarding. Everything he did was like, the feeling of slicing through warm butter. He just glides, and his style is so smooth, it's like he lands trucks, every. single. time.
His manual skills are fuckin insane.. I’m still inspired 10 years later. Not to mention those transition tre flips WTF. If I hear this song I see this video in my head every time
Nearly every single trick is an ender by todays standard. It literally doesn’t make sense how advanced Daewon was and still is. And on top of that, doing inventive tricks while looking like he’s having the time of his life. Yeah he worked his ass off for these tricks but the passion is so palpable
That’s the beauty of the sport. There’s still more to be done and less to settle for. Watching how skateboarding has evolved through the years is nothing more than amazing. Skateboards are a super simple machine that came from a simple idea and eventually obtained enough influence to introduce a whole new reality to the masses
What amazes me most about this part is that for the most part he was just messing about, how do you make a part this epic when you're just having a laugh! Daewon will go down as one of the greatest of all time with parts like this
I attended The Killers show yesterday in Mexico City and this part was all I thought when they played this song, good old times when we were excited about a new skate video release 😌
Had this and many other skate compilations on dvd when I was a kid at the time but almost round 3 had to be one of my all time favorites! Love the early 2000’s music they picked as well , so nostalgic brings me back to that time🙌👏🔥🛹😌
I remember watching this video about 15 years ago, my dad came into the room and asked me "is this guy better than you?". I just laughed and said if I was that good, I wouldn't still be in school.
I can’t imagine what it would be like having the greatest skateboarder in the history of street skating…filming *_you_* … it would be like giving a physics lecture while Albert Einstein ran the A/V equipment for you lol
Also that tractor-trailer with the Hyundai container photobombing Daewon’s part @1:38 is the universe’s way of exclaiming “This is the new sh!t!” because “hyundai” means “modern” in Korean 🤣
I’m not a native Californian but if that’s normal for skaters to be skating huge gaps between containers at the port of San Pedro then I am definitely not cool enough to live in California >.
That person in your neighborhood says I work for nabisco and basketball and a mainstream agenda Corporation control spent all that money you gave them on controlling animals shows you where their heart is
almost 20 years later and rodney & daewon's parts are still absolutely mind-blowing. It could come out today and still be elite.
Almost 20 years! My… where did time go. 😢
I don't keep up with skating lately but is there people better than daewon song at manual tricks and Rodney Mullen has the most versatile and creative amount of tricks.
I got this DVD for Christmas from my first gf and it's still the best gift I ever received.
Rodney Mullen aka John Mullen stated in an interview that daewon song has surpassed him and now is the king at skating. Just a fun fact
❤
Will always and forever be one of the greatest skate videos ever recorded. Daewon is timeless.
Dang its crazy to me how im watching this again as a adult..

Facts man, what id do to see those tapes one more time of all us skating the loading docks behind Albertsons
This is def my childhood and gives me goosebumps watching this for the first time in 20 years. Amazing still.
great song choice, just the right amount of sentimental. feels even more so after watching the interview where he says he only started doing roof gaps after his mom passed away.
I’m so happy Song chose this song. This skate video exposed me to The Killers
3:13 is mesmerizing even after all these years
This is the part that made me love skateboarding. Everything he did was like, the feeling of slicing through warm butter. He just glides, and his style is so smooth, it's like he lands trucks, every. single. time.
Same here.🫶🏼
Still a mind blowing part 19 years on. I still watch the full DVD sometimes because it’s just that good. Still gets me hyped to skate.
Daewon is so good, I'm always surprised when he DOESN'T flip in or out of something, haha.
Still one of the best parts ever
miss these days man. get outta school watch this movie and baker 3, go out and skate all the rest of the day.
His manual skills are fuckin insane.. I’m still inspired 10 years later. Not to mention those transition tre flips WTF. If I hear this song I see this video in my head every time
Even in 2021 this still holds up!
2024
@@HOTRODRICO My dawgg
Daewon was my favorite skater when this came out and still is to this day.
i remember as a kid seeing the manuals over the cable literally blew my mind especially nollie. This man is a true goat

Daewon is such a creative person. Also, a crazy good skater!
The illest of all time.
Watching Daewong’s part always bring back some awesome skate memories. I would watch this before I would go out to skate just the get hyped up.
1:38 the way he jumps the wire is amazing
I attended The Killers show yesterday in Mexico City and this part was all I thought when they played this song, good old times when we were excited about a new skate video release 😌

This made me fall in love w skating
00:26 one of the most beautiful shots
This is a case for best video part ever
I hope The Killers were as pumped as we were with this song choice. Daewon killed it and it would be cool to know they contributed
Thanks so much for uploading these DVD videos!
Daewon get's a special place, cemented in skating forever.
This was the greatest section edit ever. The music and the skating. Absolute perfection. Close second is Chris Cole’s section in New Blood.
14 years late But this legend skated at my Middle school
Which school is it? Is it the circular Manny pad spot?
I remember watching this video about 15 years ago, my dad came into the room and asked me "is this guy better than you?". I just laughed and said if I was that good, I wouldn't still be in school.
I've watched this video a million times but I never really realized how fast and almost "choppy" Daewon rides. It's surreal.
2:33 one of the gnarliest skateboard tricks of all time.
That trè-blunt-manny will always be my favorite ender ever!
was that "oh my god" at the 5:20 ish mark, Mullen behind the camera???
Sounds like Mullen's voice
I can’t imagine what it would be like having the greatest skateboarder in the history of street skating…filming *_you_* … it would be like giving a physics lecture while Albert Einstein ran the A/V equipment for you lol
Love it 😍

So aggressive but so chill. Perfecto
The goat
best skater ever. period.
“The picnic table phase”😂
This is when skateboarding peaked. If anyone can top this part i'd like to see you fucking try.
loveudaewongthx4skating❣❣❣❣
Insane
To this day, whenever I see one of those Hyundai semis I think of this part 👏😢
they should do a round 3 rematch between mullen and song 20 years later
Or they can just go into round 4
🐐
Those days 🚶➡️🧎➡️
In my top 5 skateboarding video ever - in which are all #1equal in the same community but suck creative different way
hot damn!
All the Tre Flip manuals 20 years ago and no one ever got close.
It seems like doing manuals is more natural to him than actually skating on four wheels
Did anybody watch the movie wassup rockers it's a good movie came out around this give or take.
I like the song, the hair, the stiffy, the blunt and the coca-cola.
Skaters invented the stamina
Has anyone ever done varial heel flip to crooked grind ??
Jordan mourning
I need to know the story behind that tractor trailer session
It's harder than he makes it look
My dad told me through telepathy that it’s old son.
I’m not a native Californian but if that’s normal for skaters to be skating huge gaps between containers at the port of San Pedro then I am definitely not cool enough to live in California >.
🤌🏻
Amazing! And in 2019 we have to watch Nyjah skate in leggings to trap music...
My dad gave me gerber and I bit him.
