Great vlogs I've just retired after 40 plus years trucking. It's true about the 6 sense truck drivers get. You can always can predict what is going to happen around you. Keep safe mate and keep the blogs coming, brings back some memories

Very true about truck drivers predicting situations before they happen.. and that most car drivers won’t even realise what we are doing. With the trailer doors could u have not strapped the doors open just to get it back to the yard/ recovery yard.. just to save on the call out call, plus save some time. But great video mate :)

Always prefer it when the forklift driver plonks the pallets down close by to sort out after you've gone rather than take them individually to all points around the yard, saves you time!

I work in a petrol station that does keyfuels and the mileage thing has caught a few cheating van drivers before. Normally goes that they’re filling a Jerry can in the side door for their car and get caught when they go on holiday because their van is given to another driver and the fuel mileage goes up tenfold. Aside from that, another great video!

I thought I might do my last year before I retire and return to driving but when I checked my driver qualification card expired in February along with all the credits I had banked so I’m not going that route again....
Great vlog as always Jay 👍🏼 Just looking at your camera bag... how many chargers do you have to carry? 😳 There’s all the cameras, the MacBook, the sat nav, your phone and watch! I’m sure I’m leaving some out - no truck could have enough sockets for you 🤣🤣🤣 I find using a 12V to 240v inverter is a better way for charging my MacBook Pro and iPhone - seems to charge quicker.
I have a direct DC TO DC 85w witha. Mac mag connector most efficient way of charging it while on the move. Inverters just waste power. Always go dc to dc where possible. Even TVs run o n12v if you bypass and remove the 230v ac inverter that’s built in to it
I've done Corby to Milton Keynes, back to Corby then back to Milton Keynes, back to Northampton finish, started at 1300 booked off 2230 that's a day's work. 😁😁

Trucker Jay In the UK the amount of crap you’ve had off trolls over the years they haven’t seen a fraction of what you have. my brothers Parachute accident it wasn’t just his broken back that effected him it was the PTSD too many from when he based In Northern Ireland Many don’t have a clue. That's how you fix a Renault 🤣🤣🤣 must have a lot of vibration in their trucks. Just loved that guy that wanted to stuff your trailer and not strap it. Offering you 20 quid, when the fines a 100 for not strapping it, and if it's overloaded chancing it getting impounded besides.
Quick question.... when you stored the lines at k2, one was pointing up and one just over the rack, if it was raining would you store them differently, do they f**k up basically if they get contacts wet? 😂
Said for a long time that the car driving test should include more testing and understanding of how a driving a truck differs. e.g the positioning they need to take space they need etc . Can't teach taxi drivers though, I drive nights and have prevented some serious consequences. My Father taught me . " Anticipation is 50% of driving, Anticipate what the other ***** will do"

Hey Jay I keep looking for the Maxi your in but never see you :( is you gear list on Amazon fully updated? What would you suggest for more durable brands like Yeti because I'm multidrop new place everyday and need more durable kit really. Also would you recommend the steel toes trainers instead of boots?
I don't think its necessarily just car drivers. Some HGV drivers fall into that category aswell and although you've passed a stringent test, it doesn't make you a good driver. I think that some people are born good drivers and everything comes natural, like knowing the width of a vehicle without having to think about whether you can get through a gap or anticipating what another driver / pedestrian is about to do. Yes, some of that can be gained through experience, whereas others can have had their licence for years and still not have a clue to what's going on around them - my mrs is a good example of that. Passed her test at 17, is now 50 and is still as shite at driving as she was back then !
First of all, enjoy your videos :) is there a preferred method of either obtaining your license yourself, or potentially being hired at a company who pays for it themselves. Hopefully after all this calms down I will be looking to enter a new career. Thanks!
