Lenny - I follow a number of firearm youtube channels. You are one of the most articulate and easy to understand out of all of the channels. I am really liking our channel (and I don't own Glocks).
Somewhere I read a stat that summarized actual defensive shooting incidents. It was 3/3/3. Meaning: Total time of engagement-3 seconds, distances of parties involved-3 feet, and lastly total shots fired- 3 shots exchanged between good guy/ bad guy. These were averages. Since then I've come to appreciate the advice of a fellow who taught to shoot 40 years ago. The rule he gave me was regarding instinctive/ point shooting. The handgun you choose must be a natural pointer for you. Don't totally rely on any sight. You won't have much time to use them. If it doesn't point for you, pick something else that will.
I bought these on Midways USA(before they had them in store) and had them installed in store. They hadn't seen them before and I was happy to say bit longer so the employees could play with the sights. Vic loved them and ordered some for the store right away. I have them on my Glock 35. Best sights I have ever used and even great for competition shooting. Worth ever penny my girlfriend spent on me for my birthday ;-)
I put these on my 43, with orange front site and they the perfect addition to my little pocket rocket. You really can see that orange when you present the gun and they glow like hell in the dark. The nice thing is I can use the slide on my 43x. Win-win.
a specialty gun store in CA? who knew.... good to hear though...maybe there is hope for your state after all. good vid by the way...had a set of these installed a week ago...loving them.
Isn't there a version with a full size front post and also the thinner front post for competition, etc? Is their a different name for each or do they no longer make the large front? Not sure which I want on a 26 without seeing in person.
I recently traded in my Ruger security 9 that my wife got me last year for a Glock 43. I am in love with it. Got me a c&g holster and now I can conceal it without printing no problem. Love the way it shoots, the trigger, the feel. I have smaller hands so with the pinky extension on stock mag fits my hand perfectly. The only thing I could sidereal a loss is having almost a third of the magazine capacity I had but I got to thinking and if I need more than thirteen rounds, It might just be my time to go. Gonna get a set of these and two pierce plus one base plates and I'll be done until I get a Smith and Wesson bodyguard for my wife next year. Unless someone know of a teeny 380 glock that would suit a very small handed woman. Thanks!
Just had them installed on a 43x. At the range this morning when the original rear sight shifted to the right and hadn't been abused by dropping whatever. These new metal combat sights orange front black rear day, and green dots @ nite. The smaller front sight was/is a great idea especially if you have to qualify @ longer distances with a relatively smaller weapon, well i mean to literally be a better shot. Am further reassured by your rating. Will be testing when Loktite dries.....thanx
Okay, folks, we are half-way complete with today's broadcast. [scratches nose] You wanna get in on these deals, call now. Next item is... This is item number 4 5 7 8 1 1 1. [switch to a close-up] Look at these stunning earrings. These are genuine faux sapphire earrings. Fourteen karat gold, 86 carat faux sapphire. Faux is a French word. Got an x in it, but you don't need to pronounce the x. How do you like that for prestigious? These earrings normally go for $6,000,000. We're gonna sell these today fer... [purses his lips together and exhales through them] $320!That's a steal. Now th-oh, there go the phones, they're lightin' up. I believe we have a sale? Do we have a sale?
Ok Im interested in the XR's. I never purchased the original HD's because you lose accuracy at distance. I know people complain about stock glock sights but they are accurate at distance.
I hope Trijicon will make the HD XR's on a suppressor height sights that has the exact dimensions and has a blacked out rear sight post like this HD XR but at a height that can be used with a suppressor.
I tried these out and promptly removed them. It was not possible to get a good sight picture with the huge ("yuge") sloppy "U" rear and the big meatball front. I ordered a replacement set of TruGlo sights instead and am back to being able to hit at 100 yards instead of missing at 25. The Trijicons really do blow dead birds that bad.
I got these sights a few months ago and im really having to raise the sights almost 2 inches above the target to hit the point im aiming at 20 yards and still hitting low and its really pissing me off. My metro hits the point of aim at 30 yards. I understand they are like 2 cm higher than those sights but that's ridiculous. What is with the huge difference in poa and poi? Any one know why?
You can buy the front XR front sight alone. Look on Amazon or just order from Trijicon directly. Rear sight between the HD's and HD XR's is exactly the same
Keep in mind that they are 1.3 MM taller than factory site. That will have a big effect on POI. The factory rear site is 6.5MM. The tallest rear site I know of is 7.3 MM, which still leaves you 0.3 MM short of the factory ratio. I believe the reason they went higher with the sight is most Glocks shoot 3" high at 25 yards, but I found I shot 3.25" low at 20'with these sights and factory height rear sites. Ideally I would want to be about 1.5" inches low at 20'. I should note that I shoot 147 grain subsonic ammo.
will this work for my dads glock 17 gen 2 (1988) it doesn’t have a little bolt holding the front sight it’s a pin. so i don’t know if that will effect it
Is the orange (green) dot on the front post of the XR smaller than the dot on the standard sight? Or is the only difference between the two products the thickness of the post?
Yes, they are great sights however, I had the rear sight move on a g43. Unsure what or how this happened but, I will replace the rear with a Heinie ledge . That one has a set screw to keep everything from moving.
I’m interested in these sights but after seeing the sight picture in this video I am reconsidering, the rear dots are not nearly as visible as I was imagining. I understand the emphasis is on the front post, but I’d like the rear dots to be at least half as bright as the front. Should I be looking at a different model of Trijicon’s? Are they all that dim?
Those rear dots are visible at night to help you aling the sights! Don't need them to be bright in the day. Some competition rear sights are just a black metal to help you see the front sight better. The front sight it's where you focus!
Great video, dumb question: I understand the XRs have a thinner front sight post than the non XRs, but is the actual yellow or orange phosphor circle smaller also?
Is the photo luminescent dot(the orange/yellow) the same size as the original HD sights? Did they just remove some of the black post? Or did they shrink the dot and post to a thinner size?
Is the front sight the same as the rear sights ? Meaning do you have to charge it with a light or does it also glow without changing it? I've seen people charging these sights with a flash light
Yeah I agree. They do seem to take an awful long time to get things shipped out. Placed an order on the 14th and not scheduled to be delivered until the 25th. Maybe I am just spoiled by Amazon Prime. Think things could be a little faster. Took five days to get the package to FedEx.
The old just hd sight is only .020 wider thats not much difference. I seen both and u can hardly tell ,its just a marketing scheme by trijicon . They know gun community will spend to get best. Like i say with my older eyes i like the regular hd with bigger dot.

Don't sweat it Lenny hearing you say your name never gets old
I could watch Lenny’s vids all day!!! Thanks Lenny for all the great content!!
Dang Lenny. You seem like the nicest guy. Good for you man!!

Glock is the standard over all and in the long run. I haven't seen a brand beat it on a several criteria grading scale.

The orange front sight appears to bring more contrast, with black frame of the gun..Great combination!...I just ordered a set...🎯
Installing the XRs in my EDC Glock 26 right this second. Got them as an early birthday present to myself.
How do you like those sights?
@@kturbo504 They are GREAT. You can pin point what you are aiming at. I want them for every pistol.

Glock 42, it’s almost identical to your 43 but a tad bit smaller & chambered in .380
Absolutely love these sights!! As a LEO, I am always looking for the next best thing.
As a gemini we should be best freinds
Lenny reminds me of a 3/4 smoked cigarette.

Yeah... Ya gotta save em for when you're broke

LOVE these sights. Have them on both of my Glocks.
This a better sight than the I Dot Pro from Ameriglo, do you know I'm torn between the two do t know which ones to get.
i'm getting these sights this weekend at a gun show. If I don't find them there I'll order them from your store Lenny.

Never change, Lenny.
Ordered multiple items from Lenny and crew; prompt, professional service.
I'm really looking forward too these sights. Very impressive
Its like a damn QVC shopping show; "item # 2600 along with item # 1360"

You should start it off by saying "Hello buckaroos it's Lenny Magill" in a weird and wacky way. lol humor us
love san diego, love glocks, going to have to stop by thanks for the great video
Have these on my M&P 2.0 Compact.

If it's designed for longer distances, how is it at shorter ones like 10-25.
What the best eye sight for shooting range
Lenny, you could say hello in a different language with every video

Great sights!
I have a Glock 33 and would like to know what would be the best sights to put on it. My everyday carry
Are these good for EDC? Even the bigger front post version?
Are you able to upgrade the front sight only and keep the rear posts the same? The notch looks the same.
bobby gomez rear sight is the same but the sights only sell as a pair.
SMiller5488 thank you
Check the Trijicon web=site, they may sell them separately. But not from a retailer.
You can buy the front XR front sight alone. Look on Amazon or just order from Trijicon directly. Rear sight between the HD's and HD XR's is exactly the same

Does these sights works well with an optic?
Is it possible to buy the front sight only?
Are these the large front post or the newer thin front post?
Do they still make both versions or just the thin post now?
Do I get a discount if I fly down from Alaska and buy these from you?

Yes
How do i get a set for Glock 17. I from South Africa. Thanks
"Not THAT old." -Lenny Magill
I'm 56 years old and i think orange is better for old eyes
Is the photo luminescent dot(the orange/yellow) the same size as the original HD sights? Did they just remove some of the black post? Or did they shrink the dot and post to a thinner size?
Keith Gemmill they made the front post a bit smaller and the front orange/yellow dot it a little smaller than the normal HDs
Is the front sight the same as the rear sights ? Meaning do you have to charge it with a light or does it also glow without changing it? I've seen people charging these sights with a flash light
All 3 tritium (1 front, 2 rear) glow. The orange or yellow front ring only needs a light source to glow.

does the front have tritium in the center also? Didn't hear him say if they do? thanks

love the videos, but i will never purchase here again. Takes way to long, if I had paid for overnight I'd really be having a fit...lol :-(
So if I purchase a set of these sights for my Glock 19 from you, all I have to do is send you my slide and you'll install the sights for free?
Yes I got the same question? Did u send your slide off for the install? If so how long did it take and what did you think before and after using?
Lenny sounds just like Postal Dude.
If I didn't just get a set of HD's ... my local range's target is at 35 yards.
