Hello! The video is very nicely and comprehensively shot. I wonder if I put ten stems of Portulacaria afra together and tie them well to see if they would grow together over time, like Ficus, for example. I'm interested in it. I would like to create such a massive tangle of P.afra. Thank you very much and I wish you continued creation of videos good luck!
Thank you very much. Your explanation was great , I have one that has I got at the store in the spring and now it is huge not a Bonsai yet but it will be when I am done thanks to you. O yes I subed.
just came across your channel. love it! I'm from Southern Ontario, its great to see shows with similar climate concerns. also watch Nigel as I lived around the corner from him
Recently took over a couple of sorry looking houseplant PA from a friend so this video is good for this purpose to make em more bonsai-like. Have to admit that I found this through recommendation via Nigel Saunders video. However, every person have it's own take of this hobby so I like watch and absorb bits and pieces from everyone that is in line with my own persona. Subed, Cheers from Sweden!
Thanks for sharing. I love watching a lot of other people's videos too. I found Nigel in the beginning and have enjoyed our new UA-cam friendship. He comments on some of mine and I do the same. Some fun stuff and it's nice to see a person who is still so passionate bout bonsai and does such a nice job of staying true to himself and very organic in his bonsai.
Dave, I love your PA videos. Since I do not have nor plan on getting full spectrum lights, and then dealing with fairly good seasonal natural light here in Ohio, my questions are one in what seasons do you do your pruning? Do you let them grow throughout the summer without pruning and let them rest during the winter and then in the spring transplant and/or prune them? How old are the PAs in your three plant mini forest?
I noticed you were only cutting one leave. What happens when you cut only one leave.I know if you cut above branch goes 2 different directions but trying g to figure it out
Nice work trimming them up Dave! I hope you try the leaves, they are tasty!
They are!

Thanks for all the tips! All three look great and it’s nice to hear your indoor green house is working out!
So far so good! I just need to watch the 99% humidity moments.
