One recommendation: Run a gallon or so of water from that standpipe before attaching your pressure regulator. Depending on the chemistry of the water, age of the standpipe, how long since it has been used, etc., there can be a brew of debris and contaminants waiting to be cleared rather than introducing them into your regulating mechanisms.

    • @ReflectedMiles

@@Baka_Oppai Inline filters are typically not certified to significantly reduce some of the hazards common to an old spigot with water sitting in it (NSF/ANSI Standard 53). In addition, not clearing it first before connecting your inline filter means that your filter may then end up housing a load of contaminants unnecessarily.

I'm currently building an rv park in Texas and I'm going to have dual sewer hookups on each lot because I have learned every rv is different, I am even offering 50 lots (6,000 sq.foot) that are covered by a 24 X 60 rv port and a 24 X30 covered vehicle parking with a laundry room /storage space, equipped with a washer dryer and refrigerator for your overflow, complete with a wash basin and it's heated and cooled. We are in the process of construction, and I'm hoping to open in the fall of 24.

I just watched an interview with owner of this franchise. He said their franchisees would be more SE. The owner is an old time RV'r and said he was never comfortable with Walmart and Cracker Barrel and come up with this as an option to those who wanted a safe
resting spot with full hook ups . His concern was the price of fuel just when he was launching his new business venture. Time will tell if the general public RV'rs will stop in and utilize his innovative 'park'. Thank you for sharing.

Memories... As you leave Sullivan heading East, just before you reach St. Clair, there is a median rest area serving both East and West bound travelers. About 3 miles South of that rest area used to be a one room school house where I began my education. With only 15 students, me being the only first grader and my older sister being the 8th grade graduating class. I went to that school "Old Morrelton" for 3 years back in 1946-1948. I'm now 80 years old and living the good life on the Texas Coastal Bend in Corpus Christi. Happy traveling.

Slightly different now as we have Arizona property for the Winter...and a Montana mountain property for the Summer months. We wouldn't have it any other way!

My wife and I stayed there last year and thought it was a pretty interesting concept! We tow a 28’ trailer and it was easy in and out, and the only hiccup was we beat our arrival time so power didn’t come on and the dump wasn’t accessible until we changed our arrival time on the app. Otherwise, it worked well for us.

My favorite for over night stop is in North Dakota. You can call and make a reservation or just show up. They have a pay station when you arrive, either check your site number or look and see what sites are open. They work on the honor system we’re you put your $25.00 in a envelope and drop it in the box. A farm family built this campground right off the freeway so easy on/off yet surrounded by tall trees to buffer the freeway noise.

I am just now seeing this video, via a link from one of the RV newsletters I subscribe to. Thank you for this informative video. As empty nesters who are not full-time, but do get out in our RV regularly, I love this concept. We are not comfortable overnighting at truck stops, Cracker Barrel and the like, so we look for RV parks. Even some hosted RV parks come up lacking, and we would have preferred a stay at a place like this over some we have stayed at in the past. This has been really helpful, and given that we live and travel primarily in the Southwest, I hope this option becomes available to us at some point if it isn't available already.

      @rharris22222 2 роки тому +2

@@mrmotofy I understand what you say, but we all might have said that about computers in 1984. For reference: When the IBM PC came out, it was something like $1500 (about $4000 in today's money) and no disk drives. And the floppy disk drives were about $1000 each. Hard drives were not available because those were BIG COMPUTER assets that cost more than ordinary people made in a year.
As for this: Price of LAND will go up. Price of the technology that makes this function will probably go down. Actual cost of operation? I don't think you can say.

Whether they like it or not, at $60 its only going to fill up when there are no other options. You can overnight for free down the street or pay the same at a real campground. I think their fee's are absurd. Its a glorified truck stop, without the restaurant, showers etc

Hint next time before you hook up your water Reg. and hose open the water hook up valve first to flush the water line at the shut off valve in case of rust or something else in the pipe.
We at the fire Dept. always flush the hydrant first before we hook up a fire hose to it!!!!!!
You will save settlement in your water tank and pump in case of rust or something else that can possible block your water pump up.

One tip for you guys, if you're open to it: You should swing by Walmart and go to the gardening section, and pick up some quick disconnects for your water hose(s). It makes hookups go very fast. You'd still have to screw on the regulator, but you can quick-connect/disconnect the hose to that in seconds.
I've fitted out all of our RVs and our van with those things, and it's made setup very fast.
Thanks for sharing this! I really hope to see more of these pop up.

Great work, connecting the sewer hose with your bare hands. And then straight away you're going inside and press buttons for the slides. Plus the sewer hose is on top of the electric cable making that dirty as well. One other thing, you should extend your cable completely. Having it still on the reel can cause fire because of extreme heat.

Niiiice informative video! That solidifies my decision NOT to stay at one of these for an overnighter…toooo priceeeee!!! We have a robust solar array package and a generator we paid for, so no thanx on stopping there. We’ll continue with the usual free places to overnight with the Harvest Host stops incorporated. Plus, the noise right off the interstate would annoy my wife. Just my 2 pennies.

We stayed at this location 2 years ago for a quick overnight stop. When we got off 44 it was dark and our GPS turned us onto a road going North along the East side of the RV Park. By the time we realized we could not get into the RV park from that road, we were driving down a narrow road in a residential neighborhood (pulling a 42' 5th wheel at night). It was an adventure trying to get turned around. We did like the site once we arrived and we would definitely stay there again. It's a great concept and worked well for an overnight stay. Just wish there was a sign next to the road on the East side indicating to keep going west to their entrance.

A sign would help but that’s one big reason why we try avoiding driving at night!

Coaches are desided for the slides to funtion trouble free, if the coach in not flexed. or twisted.
Leveling flexes and twists the frame a slight bit.
    Slide out - then level.
    Unlevel - then slides in.
It will save a ton of money and trouble.
    Trouble never calls ahead.
They still teach this, but it's been 30 years since I talked about.

We have had these in Scotland and everywhere in UK and Ireland for over 50 years , probably longer
All a good park needs is a hook up and somewhere to empty your waste and get water.
Some of the fancy ones will have showers laundry etc and even a small basic shop ! These are designed more for caravans

Sounds very interesting... might be the future of RV parks. Online pricing may be automated too... the more sensors that are being used, the less space, so the more demand. It then just ups the cost.
Finally got our Class B Embassy... so who knows... may see all y'all somewhere down the road! Be seeing you!

Hi Tom and Stacie! Donna and Rick here from JBRV last winter. Not sure how I missed this episode, but, you guys were just 50 miles from our home in Defiance, wine country. We passed this last weekend on our trip to a local Camping Resort in that area but never stopped in to check it out. Thanks for the great video! It was full of great information! Hope all is well with you. We've got our reservations for JBRV in January. Hope to catch up with you again. Stay safe!

@@rvamericayall I know the Love’s have a check-in kiosk but I’ve also read they do have an online reservation system. There’s usually only 4-6 sites at the travel centers that offer the service, and as of last spring they were all (most?) on I-70 although there are plans to expand.

Sorry this is a bit late. I just viewed your presentation on your new lot in PSL. We were in there for 7 years and we agree it is one of if not the best RV Resort we have ever found. We know Carlos and he is a great guy. We still live in PSL and I'm in and out of the resort on a regular bassis.
We now own our fourth Newmar. The last three including the one we now own have been two 4369 Dutch Stars and now a 4018 Dutch Star. So I am not new to Newmar. Watching you set up two important things come to mind. First off Newmar wants you to put your slides in and out on the air bags not the jacks. The reason is the coach is built while it is on the air bags, so the slides are installed on the air bags. When you use the jacks the frame can be twisted due to uneven ground thus causing stress on the slides. There is in fact a service bulletin on this issue. So pull in, do your hook ups, hook up electric before slides, then put the slides out, then level with jacks. When ready to leave, store jacks, start engine, once the air pressure valve pops off, put the slides in, then disconnect electric.
Also using a water pressure regulator gauge is a good thing. Might I suggest that you can install it right after the one way valve in your wet bay next to you hose reel. Easy to do and it is always there set to 60 psi max.

For the water pressure regulator. I wound have it in a one or two foot long hose. That way in cramped spots you don’t have to worry about screwing the regulator on, just have to put the hose on. So faucet, two foot hose, regulator, rv hose.

Hey y'all.. In the past, Newmar has recommended leveling the coach prior to deploying the slideouts. As of 2015, Newmar makes the following recommendation for the extension and retracting of slideouts. To summarize, for all Newmar coaches, they now recommend, Slideouts out first, then level... Slideouts in, then retract the jacks.. Check your manual and/or Newgle.
