We have been full timing for almost six years now. We considered looking into an RV lot but in the last three years the prices of home going up has affected the price of RV lots also. One of the issues with RV lots are the HOA monthly fees. They add up to be higher than property taxes for a 3/2 house in many areas and as you mentioned there are property taxes on top of the HOA fees. I’m wondering what will happen if a hurricane comes through your area. What do you do with all your furniture when you are away for extended periods? Good luck.

Most of Florida limits you to staying in one place in your RV to 6 months except the county of which Perry Florida is located. Does living in your RV in your resort bypass that rule/law?

Fully understand why you picked Florida because of all the things you like to do... no shame in that! Regrettably, Texas just doesn't have the same options that Florida has for you. And you are so right about the investment aspect in the area. One questions though... why did you stay domiciled in Texas? Don't you have taxes in Texas AND Florida now? Wouldn't it be cheaper just to domicile in Florida? Be seeing you!

When I worked on that place I couldn't wait to see how much they would charge for one of those spaces , they started at $49,000 which was the price of a 2 bd 2 bath home in Port St Lucie at the time , It was insane then , and it's completely insane now ,
my wife and I lived the RV life for 20 years while I worked around the country , I know what kind of money a Newmar is and how much those lots go for , please , this isn't the ( lifestyle ) of rver's , I have a 3bd 2 bath house with full 2 car garage inground swimming pool all screened in florida room full pantry and sepparate laundry room , I paid $54.000 for it the same year I worked on that glorified rv park .LOL @@rvamericayall
We will be traveling during Summer so that really doesn’t matter. With that being said, we were here much of last Summer building out our kitchen and the highs were 95° and our son was in Houston with highs at 105°. It was comfortable here for us!
I don’t know 🤷♂️, I haven’t seen that, everyone we have met here seems to love it, including renters. Our neighbors this past Spring have rented here the last 3 years but sorry you had a bad experience!

Great question that we meant to bring up. One huge reason we bought on the Atlantic side is that the hurricanes are not as strong because of cooler waters. The Gulf side is where the strongest storms come from. The highest recorded winds in Port St Lucie is 70 MPH, it is protected by a barrier island. This makes it much more desirable.
You chose a GREAT location there in Florida. I’m in Texas and SO jealous of that view and that breeze! Your tiki is amazing and your upgrades just made it all the more perfect! Congratulations to you both!
