I'm from Coorg and we make akki roti from leftover rice..we sometimes use this method too..I follow your recipes a lot ..love your no nonsense videos..since you do a lot of Karnataka based recipes why don't you research recipes from coorg and try them..our food is very different from other parts of Karnataka..you could try the vegetarian recipes..just a suggestion from a subscriber 🙂

It's quite common in malnad Karnataka left over rice from previous night and rice flour roti or as we call it rotti is prepared, it's prepared twice a day for breakfast and dinner. We also prepare kadubu from coarsely broken rice grains and pork and other curries it's very common in sakleshpura Chikmagalur shivmogga. You search for videos from these places 3
It's our maharashtrian rice 'bhakari' Konkan special 😊👍 My grandmother used to make it with hands with the help of water instead of rolling with the help of flour...It's very skillful job !
I have prepared this akki rotti but with normal water not with hot water But the rotti was not soft surely I will try this method of making akki rotti thank you for sharing this recipe 😘

Thank you for this simple yet delicious akki rotti recipe. Though I have eaten many times in mysuru , I made it last night for dinner and served with eggplant curry / brinjal palya. It was delicious and came out perfectly- very soft and light. Best wishes.
It's great! I don't know that we can use rice! Easy to find for me as rice is my everyday food, and it's healthier than white flour! Whole grain flour is expensive though, so thank you a lot!

Tried this and a total disaster, just couldn't stop it sticking to everything, my hands, the rolling pin, the rolling board, used a lot of rice flour to prevent this but no luck.
This method requires efforts but it creates most perfectly soft akki rotis. Our cook tried instant recipe and rotis came out like chewing gum. We had to throw everything. Efforts are worth these rotis

It came out perfect.
We call this bhakri. Eat with pithla or vangya chi bhaji and Mirchi thecha.
Also we sometimes use milk instead of water and it tastes sweet.

This is how we prepare..Tandlachi bhakri in Maharashtra...the process of boiling the flour in hot water is called "ukkad". 👌👍

Rice does not have gluten. So I don't think kneading time matters. More water I would imagine might help.
I kneaded only 2-3 minutes. Works really well!

If you are not a vegan it is very good with meat especially chicken & mutton

This is known as Aripathiri ( അരിപ്പത്തിരി ) in Kerala. We usually pour 1 tsp coconut milk over Aripathiri before having with Beef or mutton curry 🤤🤤🤤
