Hi, I'm Maria Marlowe, a certified Holistic Nutritionist. I'm known as the Acne Nutritionist, as I've helped thousands of people clear their skin from within, using food as medicine. I once had acne so bad I refused to leave the house and had a nervous breakdown, but then I discovered the power of food as medicine, drastically improved my eating and lifestyle habits, and my skin cleared up. I was so blown away by the changes I experienced, not just in my skin, but with my mental health and overall health, too, that I changed careers to study nutrition and cooking so I could help others achieve radiant, glowing skin and vibrant health, too. It's easy, I promise!

Very accurate assessment 👏 👌 I have been through every treatment he has discussed. Psoriasis covered 70% of my body. After the topical and pills stopped working, they went to injections. Injections caused a reduction of the Psoriasis, but I was told I didn't need to change my diet, and I would be on injections forever. Removed all gluten and was able to get off injections. When I told the doctor, he then suggested a gluten test. Found out I was a Celiac. After thanking the doctor for helping me get through this, I asked if maybe a gluten test before taking all the steroids, pills, and injections would be a good thing for his next patient with Psoriasis? The answer was there is no link between gluten and Psoriasis. I laughed out loud and then found a new doctor.

The test was correct: I have psoriasis, for most people gluten is NOT the problem (I personally confirm this by eating Rye bread with gluten - no problem), the culprit here is WHEAT SENSITIVITY. Therefore, people confuse wheat sensitivity for gluten sensitivity.

My grandson at 16 1/2 to 17 also used the carnivore diet to successfully get rid of his newly developed psoriasis on his body. After months he incorporated some fruit into his diet. Now at 20 he’s still clear. His go to drink is water. He’ll eat a regular meal on special occasions but he tends to still refrain from bread & carbs most of the time.

First tried cutting gluton and grains, knocked out half. Then high dose d3, 50kiu/day, with cofactors knocked out 30% more, also had some arthritis symptoms on fingers, lately added ttfd thiamine and low oxylate diet, the arthritis swollen knuckle pads dissapeared and only have some tiny patches left. About 98% gone and i just got through the worst oxylate dumping symptoms after about 3 weeks. I think that was the last piece to the puzzle

I have psoriasis and when I was sick with COVID taking high doses of vitamins, ivermectin and HCQ my psoriasis and rosecea actually decreased. My husband was in ICU and for me like a severe flu. So I figured my psoriasis was a gut and vitamin deficiencies.

I’ll never forget, in the very early 90’s - talking to our local family doctor about all of my research into TRYing to help my husband and asking if he knew anything about Psoriatic Arthritis. He literally sat for the next 10 minutes telling me how dumb I was and that the two “were in no way related”. After 30 years treating our extended family - That was our LAST visit. And yeah, I still hope he remembers me every time he sees the tv commercials of a certain famous athlete playing golf and pushing immunosuppressant drugs for what? Psoriatic Arthritis.

I lost most of the skin on my hands from severe psoriasis. For over 3 years I had to pack my hands in grease and wear gloves 24/7. I had 94 UV light treatments which failed and was advanced to oral methotrexate, an old cancer drug with the side effect of shutting down an overactive immune system (inflammation). I took it for 4 months which required a blood test every week to make sure the meth-x wasn't destroying my organs. After 4 months I had to stop the drug because indefinite use would eventually kill me. The inflammation came roaring back. They said - no problem, just go on meth-x twice a year, for the rest of your life. The head dermatologists was so pleased with himself that he paraded his interns to see me and show how well "the treatment" worked. Meanwhile, I was sitting there in agony with the inflammation coming back.
I didn't know much about nutrition, plant foods are healthy, right? I was told my condition was incurable. Slowly I began the process of elimination with food groups. I say slow because skin takes time to respond. But the intense inflammation calmed down right away after stopping gluten. When I showed them the success I was having from diet adjustment they gave me cold stares and went into denial, refused to even talk about it. I landed on keto but after 2 years I had at most 30% improvement. Healing was still a problem, was extremely slow. So I went on the carnivore diet and my so-called incurable disease was 100% cured in 4 months.
Where I live (in Canada) the medical system is complete garbage.

I cured muself from cronic urticaria (which is a condition very similar to psoriasis) eating a whole food vegan diet.
Doctors told me that was uncurable, caused by stress, ...
while treatments were making the rushes worse without addressing the cause.
I made some research on internet and made a connection between health and diet. (I also discover the effects of animal farming on the planet and the all the suffering involved, and I was pissed that nobody talked me about it, at age 33, after all the schools and studying I did. I decided to became a vegan and changed my diet in one day).
After 1 week of raw vegan food, the rushes got worse and than disappeared to not come back anymore. (After I reintroduced cooked food).
It's been 12 years that I eat vegan, people tell me that I look 10 years younger, and I am in perfect health condition. I haven't got sick in 12 years, not even a running nose.
Many small issues I had in my 30s got cured with the change of diet.
    I can't reccomend it enough.
Look out to WHOLE FOOD PLANT BASED DIET and the many doctors who are promoting it.
    Blessings 💚💚💚

Interesting. I have had psoriasis since I was 16 and now I'm 55. I didn't get the c-virus, by the grace of God and have not been ill in the last three years. Buy stress has definitely exacerbated my psoriasis and have gained some weight which I believe has affected the severity of it. I am going to try No gluten, no sugars, and go back to Intermittent fasting. Hoping to see the change .if anything, some fat will be gone

Thank you Dr. Li ! Lately I have been under additional stress added on to what everyone has been feeling with the Pandemic. I definitely notice this stress does increase my Psoriasis. With the added on stress I tend to crave more sugar. One question I have been curious about…when the first vaccinations were administered for Covid I noticed my Psoriasis went into remission. I went on for a while with very little breakouts. Went almost three years without getting Covid and finally it got me! I was immediately put on Paxlovid because of age. That was rough. Ever since my Psoriasis has been unhappy. My question is does the vaccination have any correlation to helping Psoriasis and could Paxlovid have any affect?

I know it is from the many years of eating poorly and drinking without thoughts of my future. It was a life style I don't regret but my body sure does!!!

I would also like to bring to light the mental emotional aspects that aren’t quite focused on that play a really big part in the disease itself, I believe that my psoriasis and the physical aspects of it were triggered because of a mental emotional trauma I encountered. I would love to see doctors bring in more mental and psychological experts to gather the missing piece to this puzzle.

Thank you so much for having Dr. Li on your channel. I've had psoriasis for 44 yrs, since I was 16. It started on my forehead & scalp after a bad sunburn. I've had plaque Psoriasis on the bottom of my feet for 26 years following injury/rubbing from snug elasticated slippers. I had typical foot swelling after the birth of my daughter. My focus was on her, & I ignored the discomfort. My Doctor later misdiagnosed me with athletes foot, he told me I must not be using the medicine..... I've had Psoriasis in my nose & quite often in my ears & only mild pustular Psoriasis on my fingers & palms. I would say Psoriasis has not been a huge problem for me, as it's not been very visible & I never had any kind of flare-up or drastic change, until recently. On April 9th I slightly burned my inner forearm on a baking sheet. It bothered me for about 2 hours & the discomfort went away completely. After 4 days I began breaking out into a rash & then I began itching like never before. I was itching on both arms, my whole face, neck, chin & on the outside of one of my ears. For the first time in my life, I had an extreme flare-up of Pustular Psoriasis. I 've seen some Doctors on the internet. Dr. Axe is one, for example, he mentioned drinking Kefir as a probiotic, eating lots of veggies & of course cutting out wheat. I have finally changed my diet. Not completely at first. I thought I just couldn't afford to throw out my food. I ate some gluten here and there. I saw the difference when I ate it. The itching ramps up. I know I must omit gluten for good! I will take to heart what Dr Li said to do. Thanks again
